I'm a 21 year old female looking to lose some serious pounds. :coolgleamA:
I'm currently 289 lbs, the heaviest I've ever been. I feel confident about losing the first 20-30 lbs, but after that, I'm not sure how I feel.

My goal currently is to get to 200 lbs. The last time I was 200 lbs, I was a size 14, which I would be very happy to be again. I currently sport size 16-20denim, and a size 20-24 top (as you can guess, my weight is in the center!).

Women: BMR = 655 + ( 4.35 x weight in pounds ) + ( 4.7 x height in inches ) - ( 4.7 x age in years )

655+ ( 4.35x 289)+ (4.7 x 65) - (4.7 x 21)
655+ (1257.15) + (305.5) - (98.7)
=2118.95

Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
2118.95x 1.2 = 2542.74

So for now my maintenance is 2543 calories. My goal is to add in some exercise five times a week starting monday which should bring my maintenance up to 2913 calories.

So I will probably try and stick to around 1700-1800 calories a day, with "cheat" day (I hate the term) on Sundays.

Have I mentioned I hate fruits and vegetables? :(

Today's Foods:

Breakfast: Muffets cereal: 2 biscuits + 125ml of milk + 1 tsp of brown sugar
Snack: 5 oz Grapes
Lunch: 2 pieces of whole wheat bread + 3 slices of summer sausage
Random : 1 Saltine
Snack: 100 calorie snack pack
Dinner: Chicken Veggie Pasta TV dinner + 2 cups chicken noodle soup and 1 cup shredded lettuce with 1 tbsp asian seasme dressing

Total calories: 1600. May add a little snack later. Will report if so.

Hi Polka Dots (hehe cute name!!) It looks like you're off to a great start!! Your goals look reasonable and sensible. What kind of exercise are you thinking of doing?

Thanks for dropping by. I don't know what I'm going to dof or exercise yet, I'm still trying to decide. I didn't exercise today, I haven't been feeling well.


Last night I didn't bother counting calories. I went to a party, ate what I wanted. I don't go to parties more than a couple of times a year (maybe 2 or 3), and I don't drink alcohol at all, so I'm not going to count for those types of things. I know there are people who do, but I'm not going to.

However, I did do today's so...

Monday March 29, 2010:

Breakfast: 2 pieces of raisin toast, 1 tbsp butter and 375ml milk

Lunch: Lemon flavoured chicken with portioned rice and mixed vegetables

Snack: 180 calories worth of goldfish crackers

Dinner: 85 grams of raw (then cooked) egg noodles, 30 grams of cheddar + 1 tsp of butter

Snack (family acitivity) 5 mini chocolate eggs, and one seasme stick

Total: 1,716 calories

I'll probably have a small salad a little later to atleast get another vegetable in. :puke:

Not the healthiest diet, I know. I'm not trying for health just yet ( mainly because I haven't been able to get to the store!), just trying to get my portions worked out instead of waiting until I have everything I need.

Add veggies one at a time until you find out what you like. I actually love veggies now and go out of my way to try new ones.

Stick to your plan and it will change your life.

Food Diary for March 30th!

Breakfast: 2 pieces of 9 grain bread, 2 slices of turkey breast, 1 tbsp of lite miracle whip with 1 tbsp ketchup and 1 cup of milk!

Lunch: 2 cups of shredded lettuce with 2.5 oz of red sweet pepper and 2 tbsp of asian sesame salad dressing

Snack: 1 slice 9 grain bread + 2 small summer sausage slices and mustard

Random: 15 grams of cheddar cheese

Dinner: Lasagna (frozen, weighed servings and used package information).

Late Nite Snack: 1 tbsp butter on 2 slices raisin toast

Today's calories: 1730

I find it hard to resist weighing myself, but I went to weigh myself today and found the batteries on my scale had died so I won't be weighing myself until I get to the store haha.

March 31 calories:
Breakfast: 2 pieces of 9 grain bread, 2 slices of turkey breast, 1 tbsp of lite miracle whip with 1 tbsp ketchup and lots of mustard (calorie free and one of my favourites!) and 1 cup of milk

Lunch: 7.3 oz of lettuce with 2.5 oz of red sweet pepper, 1 tsp of parmesan cheese, 7 grams of real bacon bits and 3 tbsp of asian sesame salad dressing

Dinner: 80 grams (raw, then cooked) egg noodles, 30 grams of cheddar cheese, 1/2 tbsp butter, 2 oz lean ground (and squeezed!) beef 1 tsp roasted red pepper alfredo sauce, and 2.3 oz broccoli (raw, then cooked)

Snack: Sunflower seeds (12 grams)

Binge: Lasgna-ish pasta (250 grams cooked)

Total calories: 1900

Not too bad, this is a good amount for me :)! I just want to get away from the impulsive eating.

I am exhausted! Today was the first time I got out in quite awhile. I did some hardcore shopping, I left the house at 7:30 and didn't come back until after midnight! Not to mention on 3 and a half hours of sleep last night! I'm totally pooped!

I did get out to the store to get the batteries for my scale though, and it seems I've lost 4.2 lbs this week! Now I know probably 3lbs of it is water weight, but it's a start. I'm drinking lots of water every day, drinking milk and trying to keep hydrated.

On to today!

Friday April 21st:

Today I walked uphill (and then downhill :biggrinjester:) to the store to get some exercise and some diet soda (591 ml, not the big one). I was walking past this one lady, and I totally twisted my ankle and fell!!!!!! Omg! She was really nice and tried to help me atleast. I kept going to the store and got my soda. It didn't start really hurting until I got home...the adrenaline from falling I guess kept it from hurting.

How annoying.

Anyways~!

Today's calories: All unhealthy foods. 1900 calories. I won't bother typing them out since I didn't eat anything worth sharing.

I don't think I've been on my calorie mark at all this week, and I haven't been moving at all because of my bummed ankle (I re-injured it last night too). This must mean my calorie maintenance is higher than I calculated, which I had expected because I hit the 10 lb mark, and that's without weighing right first thing in the morning and everything. Pretty good first two weeks, I think I'll be successful with my 15 lb goal this month!

Also, my waist is down from 50 inches to 48! I didn't measure the rest because I didn't feel like it, but woohoo!

OMG I just read your latest 2 entries...AWFUL! I am so sorry to hear about your ankle and I can totally empathise. I once twisted mine and fell really hard when my foot veered slightly off the carpet outside of an office building with marble flooring when it was raining. It hurt for 2 months and did not heal straight. I really hope you feel better so soon. Congrats on doing so well despite it all!:party::party::party:

It's been almost a year since I've logged on. I've lost no weight- in face I've gained. I'm probably
295 lbs (I don't have a scale currently, so I'm not entirely sure). My waist is still the big 50, and I hope to get it down.

I really haven't wanted to log on, I'm embarrassed that I've made no progress, I'm embarrassed that I've gained weight. But, humility is the first step in making changes, so here I am again. I need a more concrete plan.
