Weigh Yourself Everyday Club

My dog now is very ill with dementia and arthritis, I don't think he'll last much longer. Caring for him is requiring quite alot of effort and time, he needs help 24/7 with the toilet and eating, drinking, walking (i have help from family members, but i do most of it as he's my dog). He's been a brilliant dog and my best friend for 18 years and i'm happy to help him in the twilight of his life. I don't want him to suffer, but I think as long as he's eating/drinking and is not completely lame i won't have him euthanized.
That is sad, but 18 is very old for a dog, he had very long good life thanks to you. I am sure you'll do the right thing. When our most recent dog to pass was ill and we were considering euthanizing my wife spoke to an old friend who was a veterinarian, after a lot time the vet told my wife "I just wish someone could do that for me one day when I am in such pain". That let us do it with clear conscientious.

I'm still binging most days, need to stop and get back on track but how many times have i said that! The weather has turned cooler and wetter which i'm happy about. I can't complain about the weather really when you guys have the weather you have.
As I said above I sure know that feeling. Get up in the morning and swear to myself it's all going to change, but it doesn't. First binge or steps to one happen at some point, some times breakfast and sometimes not till after dinner, but most every day it happens. I know I can control it sometimes but it always ends up being temporary. Some evil force at work in my brain I guess.

One good thing your weight seems to have more or less stabilized despite the bingeing. I wish I could say the same. I think posting here helps, I know when I do my weight is more stable. Sometimes it even helps me lose. Let's keep at this, we can do better together than alone!
I'm becoming a drink-a-holic.
Hopefully on water or something low to no calorie, and not alcoholic!

Your weight has also been stable, not a bad thing, I know you want to lose but without posting here would you have gained? You are a part of this, lets do better together. Guess I am speaking to myself as much as to you, but I do hope for the best for you Tom.

And having mowed many a Florida and Louisiana lawn I can feel for you on the humidity. Not much of a problem here in Utah.

Nah, it's mainly water and watered down Gatorade with a little apple juice and ginger ale occasionally to break up the monotony.

Went from drinking about 40 oz in the winter time to well over 100 oz. Temp today is about 100 with heat index of 120. I have a long time friend that lives in Utah. I'm not sure how I would handle the elevation change, but I always envy his weather.

Yeh euthanizing my dog is in my mind now. For the past 2 nights from about 10pm to 3am he was trying to repetitively walk in very tight circles (afaik a classic dog dementia symptom) but because his back leg is bad with arthritis he couldn't stand up to walk so was just scrabbling around using his front legs, poor dog ended up panting heavily as he was tiring himself out in the mild nights we're having here.

My binges almost always happen early evening onwards, i seem to be able to resist all day, but then around 6pm onwards my will power slacks off. I know it will click for me soon in that i'll be able to resist for a good while, just hope it clicks soon, hopefully today.

Hoping today is your day too. I like your "days without a binge thing", so I plagiarized you.

Actually I miss the heat and humidity, guess growing up with it will do that to you. I also miss no cold winter...

I doubt you'd have much trouble with the elevation. I find that if I quickly go up a few thousand feet its only noticeable when trying to go up stairs or up a hill, and then not a lot. I once drove to the top of Mauna Loa, gained 13,000 ft elevation in a couple of hours, and at the time I was living near sea level. I did feel it, but lived to tell the tail. If you are ever on the Island of Hawaii its well worth doing, and the road isn't nearly so bad as advertised they just want to scare people away.

the only reason I say that is the one and only time I changed elevations was when I went to Denver. While there, we drove up Mt Evans road to the top (14130 feet?), supposed to be the highest paved road in North America. Even getting out of the car was a lot of exertion. When I got back down below, had a really bad headache.

More of the same. Tomorrow may be cooler. Today though hot humid, excessive heat warning.

Am I reading the 0 calories right? Are you fasting?

LOL. No. I just get tired of tracking. I know I'm around 1800, but just not losing. My sister and I are experimenting with the Samsung Health app. It shows we are in a deficit. We both weigh exactly the same thing. I told her the only way I've ever been able to lose is drop calories really low and lots of exercise, which is hard to do with the weather we are having. It's 100 outside, but 94 inside. I was really sick yesterday so I only walked 3000 steps instead of 6000. When my dad was alive, I could only be out of the house about 10 minutes at a time so I was walking about 3500 steps a day (only includes actual walking. if I don't walk outside, my phone is not on me so it doesn't record steps like while washing dishes, etc.). Since my dad passed away, I gained 10 lbs and struggling to get that back off. I am now walking 6000 steps a day. My drinking has gone from 40 oz a day to well over 100 most days. This humidity is really bad right now. Outside, they say is dangerous to exercise. Air quality is low. Allergies are medium thankfully. And heat index is anywhere between 110 and 120. Last night we did get a heavy thunderstorm and today's high and tomorrow is supposed to be 90 (not including heat index). So we get a 2 day reprieve and then it is back to 100.

Mostly sick. Felt vertigoish all day yesterday. Fluid on my ears. Really tired and off.

Feel better today so far. Sneezing a lot. A lot of this is a combo of heat and allergies.

Felt better yesterday. Feel like I'm walking around like a zombie though. Just feel weird. Sneezing a lot, watery eyes, stopped up, really tired.

Thunderstorms yesterday. Thunderstorms are approaching already this morning. We'll see how it goes. Supposed to only be around 90F today before the next big heat up.

I usually lose about 5 lbs pretty quickly when I stop bingeing, not this time I guess. I know if I can keep off the binge it will happen... just don't know when.

I started my 6 weeks challenge yesterday and worked out for the first time in months. The last 2 days were pretty cool, but now it's back to the searing heat and humidity.

Eurgh i just binged :( i had an early evening nap and woke up ravenous, ate 1 biscuit which became the whole packet. Bet i'm up a couple of lbs tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that, but today is what matters, can you not binge today? I think you can.

I often find the time right after waking from a nap to be particularly hard with respect to binges and cravings. Would having some kind of drink, coffee, tea or a soft drink help? It does me... sometimes anyway.
