Weigh Yourself Everyday Club

For his arthritis he's on a monthly jab of a quite new drug called Librela. It's mega safe, much more safe/no side effects when compared to the usual treatments. It's effective too. he's deffo better on his leg now (but not cured ofc). it's costing me £77 per monthly jab so not cheap
I know rimadyl is a lot cheaper than that, and its give orally not an injection. However I have no idea which works best. Good that you are doing something.
Tyke jumped out my car window once when he was young, we were doing about 15 mph!
My ~5 year old dog did that a few months ago, and the car was moving even faster. She did injure her leg, vet said it was soft tissue and would heal on its own. Had her on the rimadyl for a month after. Seems she couldn't resist a pair of poodles... Now we roll the window up when she's riding.

Wed Oct 19th : 227.2 (+0.4)

I'm up a couple of lbs for the week, it's been a bad week diet wise.......biscuits have been my downfall. Must get back on track.

Tyke is a really fussy eater and there's no easy way to get tablets down him unfortunately, jabs are much easier.
Librela is mega safe, there's literally no side effects. I think that is its major advantage.
Glad your dog is ok!

10.18.22. 242.9

Still in the 242 club

I upped my calories about 400 for 10 days to see if it would help. Gained up to 245.4. Oh well. Calories are back on target and back down this morning.
Good to see u hangin in there Tom.
I just looked it up & there are some cool dog strollers available 😊
I looked them up yesterday too! On ebay there's a couple of options local to me for second hand one's. There's a dedicated dog stroller, there's also a babies pram :D. I can't really see what the pram can't do that the dog stroller can, yet the dog stroller is alot more expensive.

Nice surprise this morning
Good for you!!

I have not been eating as well as I'd like, but not enough to gain much fat. I know the post-op swelling is contributing some water weight. Guess I just need to be as vigilant as I can be with the food and patient. Don't know which is harder...

How many calories are you eating, and how long have you been on the plateau?
About 1500. I haven't lost anything in about a month. I get 30 mins to 60+ exercise a day. Last time I was stuck for 5 months before giving up. Yesterday I ate about 2000 calories and was promptly up 2.8 lbs. I can easily gain all of this weight back. I was thinking of dropping calories again. Not sure what else to do but this is frustrating. I am no where near goal weight to stall now.

At that calorie level you have to be losing fat, no other way. How carefully do you count your calories, I know if I don't carefully calibrate I end up underestimating...

2,000 calories has nothing to do with the gain, it was water! 1,500 calories should lead to faster weight loss, but 2,000 isn't bad. Keep at it and you will do well! You already have.

Thanks. I weigh out everything I eat and drink. I am really careful about that. That is what is so puzzling.

Rob- great that your inflammation must have come down.
Tyke- well done. Water weight or not, it just feels better.
Tom- Stick with it, mate. It's frustrating. My body fights to let go of weight too. It sucks. We just have to push through.

You are doing it right, if you stick to it you will lose weight, you have to. Basic thermodynamics. However @Cate is right, some people's bodies hold on to the weight longer, maybe you are one of those. But it will not last forever, stick in there!
Another day down!
Rob- great that your inflammation must have come down.
It may have a little, but some will be there with me for a while. Slowly getting better, about the best I can expect I think.
