Weezy's Diary .....

Weezy's Diary

Past week was a TOTAL disaster! As soon as the landscaping starts, there goes my routine....

At least I did manage to do the 10 minute morning workout - even on the weekend - but the food thing was really bad.

Breakfast is pretty much the same every day except weekends ...but this weekend I went out with my husband for brunch and had a belgian waffle with a fresh fruit topping - WAY big. BAAAAD Weezy.

The weekends really drive me bonkas...it's so hard to stay on a proper regime. I can't even remember what all I had, but I know I had at least one piece of Apple pie (very small but still...) and some pasta at dinner.

Rats. I feel very frustrated right now. PLUS, I wrecked both wrists digging up trees and removing fence boards with a pry bar - NOT pleased right now:mad:

Hey Weezy,

how are you doing...there we all thought spring would make it easier...but we won't give up, right...

Hope your wrists are better already. And don't make yourself feel bad about the little mishaps in the diet...working outside you are using more energy and you probably enjoyed the brunch with your husband very much...so write it off as 'vacation' and DON'T GIVE UP

Thanks Lisa

Thanks for you encouragement. I must say that I thought once I was outdoors and working hard things would go better .....I guess I always tend to tack everything with WAAAAAAY too much energy and often get physically scewed up as a result ...on the plus side ...the garden is starting to really shape up!

Diet has been better this past week. Lots of fish, actually had fish for dinner four times !!:) and increased water intake. Found a new multigrain bread, pretty nice toasted. Will have to find a substitute for eggs - In Canada they have found a strain of avian flu in a large chicken production area, and have killed thousands of birds ..... this will cause a shortage of chicken and eggs and will drive the prices up.

I also found a different protein bar called Nugo which is not as candy like as the others. Pretty good as a change from Zone bars.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, where is everybody lately ???????

Cheers

Hi Weezy,

I was wondering the same thing. Seems we all abandoned the computer for all the outside activities. If that's the case we should all be losing weight quite nicely - can't wait to see the updates from everyone.

that is the most convenient information i have come across in awhile...

thank you for sharing...
this will really help in setting up my detailed food journal

Glad to have found it!

Glad to see you on the Forum, and really pleased if the chart helps.

I am going to try to sort it into alpha order, at the moment it seems a tad random. If I get it done, I'll post it.

Good luck with your diary.

Have a lovely weekend - it's raining here (Toronto, Canada)

Cheers

Some updates - better late than never

Well, it's been a very busy 2 months for me ...the landscaping gig always happens at this time and EVERYONE wants their gardens NOW.

Anyway, that kinda halted my updates!

So, diet:

Have been pretty much sticking the the usual regime, but have found new snack protein bar that I like - has a kind of biscuit texture - called NuGo.

Also, switched protein powder from SoyOne to Whey Gourmet and a neat new flavour called Capuccino Frappe - very good.

Great news is that I have managed to increase my water intake to 2.5 litres and not having to go to the ladies as often YAY!:D

connected to that - the skin people told me that my skin looks amazing for 63 and they rated it a 9 on a 1-10 scale ....they said that the water intake is clearly helping.:)

Exercise:

Have modified the routine somewhat:

100 crunches, 25 special isometric ab suctions , 30 special leg raises, 30 special knee presses; 100 cross boxing waist twists with theraband. 25 each side upward arm thrusts with theraband, 20 crouching ab lifts, 20 special pushups.

Major change as of tommorrow, will be adding a 5LB disk to my chest for the crunches.

Am thinking about buying an Ab bench .....

Am thinking about buying a low intensity laser to zap stupid lines off my face ...

Very cool excercise link

I was searching for info on abs last night and came across this really excellent site with a gazillion exercises and tons of good info.

Enjoy!!!!!:)

Weezy

skip the ab bench and do your workouts w/ a ball. There are more you can do, it's better on your back, and I find it to be a better workout.

no bench?

Okay, if you think the ball works better - I do actually have one, I just haven't gotten friendly with it yet. the information booklet on what to do with it was sketchy to say the least and didn't really properly explain things ......

I fell off it and crashed into hard furniture several times - (well okay, maybe I shouldn't have it around hard furniture..... )

Maybe I can find a video or something .....

Thanks for suggesting it ..... I noticed that the crunches are hellish hard with the disk added on

rock on

May entry

Sorry for being such a sluggard at posting, but you all know that I'm busy with landscaping at this time of the year ...so ....few entries.

Diet is going along normal. I pretty much eat the samething every day, certainly breakfast never varies. Lunch only changes depending upon how much of a hurry I'm in .... so peanutbutter and lettuce if I have little time, or tuna or salmon on toast if I have an extra 5 minutes.

I broke the water barrier !!! Must be the warm weather, I'm at 3 liters daily.

Have modified my excercise routine a bit .... again!

Saw my massage therapist today and got heck for how I'm doing crunches. He says I'm putting too much pressure on my neck. Doesn't want me to use a weight when I'm doing them.

He showed me an alternate method which makes them more difficult but reduces the neck thing.

ALSO - found a great site. There's this dude called Matt Fury who has developed a special series of workout exercises without too much barbell or freeweight stuff.

This next link shows this animated pix of someone doing Matt's Hindu Pushups.

anyway, the therapist said that the Hindu Pushup looks like a really good exercise and I can do it......

Anyway, I'm off to do errands

Hope everyone is doing well on their program!

Hi Lisa:

Yes, well, I'm more or less on track. The summer is a bad time for me for eating properly because of the landscaping. You just try to cart a nice salad along on the job! ;)

I think I am just keeping up - my diet regime is pretty much as before, except that lunches are all screwed up because of being outdoors. Also, when I work a lot physically my desire for bad carbs goes shooting up! So I am CONSTANTLY battling the urge to eat something I shouldn't

Thank goodness for Atkins Endulge candy bars for those times when I HAVE to have something sweet.:D

I have somewhat changed my morning exercise routine because I am trying to work off flab from under my arms (sigh) How can I weat those sexy strappy little tops with big, flappy loose underarms? I guess I hadn't noticed them creeping up on me  So now I have added in some light weights for over head lifts. (I dropped one of the weights on my head recently - oh my, I am SUCH a klutz ...)

However, on the plus side, I am still needing a size 4 skirt or pants - which I guess indicates that I am not gaining ....As mentioned a while back, I don't weigh myself much becase my goal is muscle building and toning.

Well that's it for me ... I will try to be a bit more proactive ....

Enjoy the nice weather .......

Weezy

HI Weezy,

thanks for the quick response. Nice to see you still on track.

At least you are still exercising and trying to stay healthy...I know the feeling about craving those bad carbs...especially when the weather is nice...and you are busy and don't have time to think about food choices constantly.

The healthy stuff is also not as readily available as the bad stuff - it's a lot better than it has been but still - when I see what I have in walking distance from the office, there isn't all that much and especially not healthy... Sure you can get doughnuts (or is it donuts - I never know:confused: ) and fried chicken, but try and find some fresh fruit...you're out of luck....

Enough complaining....keep at it and try to do your best:)

and I am enjoying the nice weather - most of the time through the window though:D:D:D

Diary update

Well, here we are almost tghrough July and I haven't put a thing down in my diary for ages ...

Dietwize not too much as changed. Breakfast is still soaked dried fruit, fresh cantaloupe, wheat germ, lecithin, protein powder, ground almonds. A boiled egg and 1 slice of 9 grains bread. (3-4 glasses of water)

Morning snack is still 1 apple, 1 zonebar and a glass of water

Lunch is either tuna salad on one slice of 9 grains, peanut butter on 1 slice of 9 grains, or cheese on one slice of 9 grains. (2 glasses of water)

Afternoon snack is 1 zone bar (2 glasses of water)

Dinner is either grilled fish, bbq chicken, salmon salad, or grilled Knockwurst al served with a big salad, and cooked veg of some sort. Small amount of rice, pasta or Potato (2-3 glasses of water)

Pre bed snack is 1/2 zone bar and a glass of water

Between meals and snacks I usually drink tons of water - my intake is up to about 3 litres now.

The really good news is that Frank (at the health store) talked my husband into actually increasing his daily water intake from 1 glass to 8 glasses!!!!!

I have modified my daily exercise routine slightly. Still workout for 15 mins daily, but changed some of the exercises I do.

Well., I'm off to an "exciting" grocery shopping expedition ....pray for me

Cheeers

HI Weezy,

great to hear that you are doing well. I can imagine your summer still being very busy...congrats on still doing your exercises and sticking to a healthy diet, even when you barely come up for air. Also wonderful that your husband is getting on the right track:)

I would love to 'read' from you again - if you have a few minutes:)

Still hanging in......

Hi Lisa:cool:

How are you?

Well, I'm still hanging in although last few weeks have been mega stressful .....I think I might have put on some weight, things feel rather tight....but I'm not weighing myself yet.

With the very hot weather, dog walks have sort of talied off :D (pun) but I still do my workout every morning. :)

We have been having the most bizarre summer so far - cold, wet, super hot, cold, cold, wet, wet, pretty much up and down like a yoyo. One leaves in the morning wearing a long sleeved tee because it's so cold and later one is boiling hot.

As the weather returns to fall I expect to be able to get out and walk again. :D

Well, that's all from me, lovely to get your note. Always pleased to hear from you ...

Hope you're still hanging in also, still walking the woofie and not scarfing down too many treats :D :D :D

Cheers

Weezy

HI Weezy,

well the treats are really what get to me....I try to limit them, but it doesn't always work. The weekend was a prime example again....nice warm weather lots of time outside, perfect weather for icecream...and you should've seen the size...yummmy and then in the evenings the chips and salsa, sour cream and guacomole that just go so nicely with the movie....uh oh - i better stop.

Other than that, I don't exercise any more than I used to, but I was swimming in the lake on the weekend, that made up for not walking the dogs.
