Week 2 and still nothing?

I eat an egg white and a bowl of flax plus for breakfast. I eat a sweet potato topped with fat free cottage cheese for lunch and mixwd veggies. For dinner I ate a 4 ounce tuna steak baked, with mixed veggies and brown rice. I snack on boiled egg whites and fruit in between meals (this is only an example of what i eat). I am doing a half hour of cardio 4 days a week and working out an hour 4 days a week. this is very discouraging. What should i do? I've only lost meybe a pound at most.

say it with me: YOU ARE STARVING YOURSELF

with that diet, you can't gain muscle, and the body will store more fat because you're not eating enough.

tips:
1. eat 5-6 meals a day...not 3
2. eat more - typical male will lose weight on 2,000 calories a day. over 5 meals, that's 400 calories per meal. your breakfast isn't even 150cal. (I bet you feel tired all day, dont' you?)
3. your food choices look fine...but you need more of em. protein shakes plus a piece of fruit makes a good snack, especially when learning how to eat 5-6 times a day.

Yes i slept all day today. I had a fear of that. Well if thats the problem, It wont be hard to change. So i prolly should just chill from working out today? I should eat more tonight and tomarrow and get back to it tomarrow?

Well I definetly think i am becoming more in shape. Thats all i have been hearing from everyone. So it's no big deal to me that i haven't lost any weight cause thats no the true messure.

true enough...muscle weighs more than fat, so weight alone doesn't tell you much.
if you know your body fat percentage, however, you can use it with weight to see how much fat you're losing, and the lean mass gained.

Diet is the #1 area where people fail when they try to get into better shape. Just about any exercise is sufficient...but for americans, our diet sucks, and too much misinformation screws people up and leaves em confused and starving.
Only a tiny minority of people with actual metabolic issues would need super low calories to lose weight...and usually they get thyroid therapy to increase metabolism to a more normal level.

best way to ramp up metabolism naturally (and assuming normal metabolism) is to eat smaller meals, more often. its like keeping a fire burning...not enough wood, and the fire tries to burn out, and isn't very hot. too much wood, and the fire smothers due to lack of oxygen...and again, doesn't burn as hot.
But toss a couple smaller logs on every hour, and that's gonna be one raging bonfire!

The human body isn't much different. We evolved as hunter/gatherers, eating what bits of food were available throughout the day. 3 square meals came about during the industrial revolution, when more people began to work in factories, than at home on the farm (when they could take short breaks for a bite..not a single lunch hour 4 hours into the shift).

We have yet to evolve to the point of being able to take in just 3 meals a day and use it efficiently. And if you think about it, many people do have snacks in the afternoon, or late evening after dinner. turn those snacks into healthy things, and its a step on the right path to success.
