That's no advice I would reccomend Dallen. Simply allowing warm water to run in will probably make it worse.
What's your reason for being aboslutely against putting oil in you ear? That's basically what you get when you buy ear things from the pharmacy, it helps soften the wax up which is especially important when using a syringe to pump out the wax.
I'd reccomend putting warm olive oil in your ear and seal it up so it doesn't escape the ear canal, then leave it overnight. You might find the wax has come out in that period, and if not, it will be eaiser at least for the syringe to get all the softened wax out.
