Want to start working out. Dont know how to properly. please help.

 I want to start working out. I have access now to a total gym. Can anyone help me in making a workout plan? im thinking i have to work out everyday. so is there a weekly workout plan for both fat loss and muscle gain?

Okay I'd suggest you start out working the exercises they have for you already. Maybe in a booklet or something. You could start doing 3-4 sets of 10 of everything on the setting you feel comfortable with. For fat loss you can do a lot of rowing exercises, I think the Total Gym has that capability, right? So I guess warm up with some rowing and get into your workout from there. Work some muscle groups some days and different ones other days. And it's always important to stretch (before and after, but with a total gym you're pretty much stretched out after, right?) and warm up.

Hi

DO NOT workout more than 3 days a week.
If your weight training.
Get this book The Weider Approach. By Joe Weider.
Bottom Line its the best advice you'll get.

champ is right, if you are just starting to lift weights you should only do 2-3 days a week for the first month or two. For the first few workouts i would recommend 2 sets of 10 and as your body adjusts to weight lifting you can add another set. For a novice lifter i would not recommend more than 3 sets.

I have not read the weider approach, but i would recommend that you go to a local book store and review a few of there weightlifting books. one key to your success is goig to be staying injury free. If you start working out using inproper form then you are just asking for an injury.

using a total gym, lifting weights, using bodyweight all are used for the same purpose... to incease muscular strength/muscular endurance.
