Walking to Tone Legs?

Hi there,

I recently came back from 4 months overseas and walked nearly 8 hours every day. While I was away my legs became so toned and much more shapely like I had always wanted but never had been able to achieve.

Now that I am back into my normal routine, I can't walk 8 hours a day and am wondering what the best way is to keep up the shape of my legs without them getting bulky?

I highly doubt you walked continuously 8 hours a day every day. Maybe you were on your feet a lot, doing some walking back and forth, but not actually walking 8 hours straight. How about using a treadmill, stair climber or something like that for an hour or 2 a day?

Hey - 8 hours is a lot lol. Good for you.

Usually I find it pretty difficult to walk a long time without my calves getting sore - maybe 45 minutes or so. I usually buy cheap sneakers though so I guess it's my own fault. A couple of weeks ago I got a sample pair of shoes from a Korean company - they're pretty innovative actually, they've got 3 different kinds of insoles each with a different weight so that you can get the most out of your workout. It was pretty rough the first few days with the heaviest one but I got used to it. It's been a couple of weeks now and just to see if it made a difference I went back to my old sneakers and calf soreness - gone. I was pretty impressed. If you're interested, the shoes are called PowerDiet by ATZ. These are the specific shoes I have:

*edit* The characters are weird cause it's a Korean website but it still works. lol.

Join some outdoor groups like bootcamp, walking and cycling groups, and mix with resistance training on your legs using weights to keep up the muscle definition.

Thank you for the ideas everyone!

I have recently started 40mins high intensity cardio four times a week and 3xweight training sessions and definitely seeing results! That along with healthy eating is working wonders :)
