Waistline will not reduce, despite all efforts :(

Thanks for all the advice :)

I am going into a clinic soon to get a 'full physical' done, will take an entire day and cost a fair bit of $$$. Full body CAT/MRI can, blood workups, the lot.
I am also going to stick with the 1000 calorie per day diet.

I'll have a look at the alkaline diet, i've never heard of this before...

whatsu p man? just passing through did a little skimming of the last few pages.... got a couple of questions...

How do you know you are getting the calories you say you are getting?

Are you weighing measuring your foods?

Are you tracking EVERYTHING?

What are you eating?

Hi again :)
It sounds like you're at wit's end; I'm sorry it's gotten to the stage where you have to get blood tests done. You need to look after your health first I think, get rid of that tonsilitis, get off the antibiotics and then you can focus on weight loss. Allow your body time to get stronger and it won't do this properly if you are not eating enough. I agree with Blancita, you need to eat lots of vegetables.

I hope you get well soon, visit often to keep us updated on your progress.

If it helps, I had reached a plateau for 2 weeks, after doing increasingly more exercise and eating less, and I only broke it by going off bread for 2 days... might be something to try..? :grouphug:

All the best and don't give up! :seeya:

Hi all,

Just another update...Blood tests... revealed not much. Nothing ran up the flag pole, though I do have higher levels of cortizone in my blood, quite a lot of it apparently.
Also low blood sugar levels and hormone levels across the board are fairly low.

However, I've managed to halt the slow steady increase in body-weight. I am steady at 109 kg. I've managed this by extreme calorie restriction with vitamin supplements.

I've met up with a new trainer at the gym, this person is a martial artist who says he's going to work my something called 'core strength', straighten out my spine and do a ton of heavy duty cardio work. So hopefully this can work out...he says my cardio endurance is appalling though i am fairly strong.

I have now decided to cut calories further to 1000 per day. If I get hungry i just eat lettuce, my Doctor has told me i'm insane and that this is not enough to get by. But screw it, i either loose weight or die, i'm now that determined, in my view the risks of being so overweight outweight the risks in extreme calorie cutting, i've decided it's time for 'no bullshit dieting'.

I'll report back in two weeks and see if i've managed to shed any weight. I have however apparently lost 1cm off my waist, so perhaps this is working?
The hunger hurts though during the afternoon, i've cut my evening means in half.

I have eliminated dairy foods, bread, almost all carbohydrates too as carbs are bad for you. Sugar is also out. It's going to be hard... very hard, the hunger pains at 3:00pm are actually painful, but i'll munch on lettuce and drink some water.

Here's what I am eating:

Breakfast. Wheebix, these are an aussie breakfast, they're compressed wheat flakes. I have these in warm water OR low fat milk, two of them. I have half a bananna in it and a glass of water with a slice of lemon.

Mid Morning. Glass of water, a celery stick

Lunch. Sushi, this is 'Sachimi' sushi it's raw sushi with shredded carrots, there are 3 pieces of 'nigiri' sushi in there too. Total calories is about 350, the three nigiri pieces do have some rice but it's minimal, i'll see if I need to cut that out or not.

Afternoon. Usually nothing, perhaps a few pieces of raw lettuce. to put smethign in my stomach.

Dinner. A piece of chicken, red meat or fish, no sauce and veggies (Steamed), no condimnts. I have a plate that is half the size of a normal dinner plate. Last night I had half a fish fillet,
Half a baby potatoe (steamed), brocoli and 3 brussel sprouts (steamed).

OK, it's been a while since I posted here...

I've resorted to extreme caloric restriction and had my first weight loss ! !

I have lost 2.25kg in three weeks, first time in four years i've lost any weight!
I'm able to wear my belt with the buckle one extra notch in compared to a month ago, I still overhand a bit at the front, but a few weeks ago I couldn't even put this belt around my waist let alone buckle it.

I'm on 800 calories per day and vitamin supplement and moderate excercise each day (walking), i've given up the gym and the personal trainer. In the next few weeks i'll cut back to 600 calories per day.

It was extremely hard, the hunger pains were intense, actually physically painful, but I have forced myself to mentally push this aside. I now weigh everything I eat.

Breakfast: One Wheetbix in warm water, cup of tea (no sugar)
Lunch: 3 pieces of sashimi suchi with some seaweed salad.
Dinner: Small serve of lean met and vegetables, lightly steamed.

I've eliminated bread, but am getting carbs via the salad at lunchtime and veggies at dinner time.

I got to bed hungry, sometimes with my stomach growling, but I ignore it.

So far so good, I'll report back over ensuing weeks.
