Vitamins for bench press???

Recently I got a GNC pamplet thingy (whatever they send in the mail) and there was this supplement that said it was garaunteed to increase your bench press max the 1st day you used it, and I was wondering what that would be exactly(it was a steroid) and if it would be worth looking into? Personally I don't see how something like that would work.
 
Probably just a glorified caffiene pill to jack you up so you have more energy to push or something dumb like that...
 
There's no point to taking a pill to improve your performance on one exercise, EVEN if it DID work, which is quite doubtful. You don't need that type of supplement, just keep working.
 
Crow, a good rule of thumb to follow with the supplement industry is that if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. I smell bullsh*t personally.
