Hey, I had been doing leg workouts for quite some time now,I think my vertical is pretty high, but I want to go higher,I stopped for a couple of months and i regret it becuase i probaly would've jumped higher.anyways my question is :

Will my vertical jump increase if I keep doing Calf raises, squats , polymetrics without weights or anything? Should I workout 3 x a week or 5 x a week?

My leg workout

60 Calf raises
30 left leg calf raises
30 right leg calf raises
30 squats
30 left leg squats
30right leg squats
2 polymetric exercises consisting of 20 explosive jumps each.

PS-I will greatly apprieciate any advice..........

Your workout sucks. Badly, if it's in that order. Google "westside for skinny bastards part iii". That should answer all your questions.

The program I'm suggesting includes box jumps or similar (you're given a choice of exercises - I highly recommend box jumps, if you've access to something to jump on) for direct work on your vertical, and a much better overall scheme, for indirect improvement.

TO increase your vertical you are going to need power. Strength+velocity=power. you must train your neuromuscular system to contract at a faster rate. Soooo0o0o, Jump. one leg. two legs. box jumps. and strength lift followed by power exercises.

Ex: squats followed by squat jumps
