Vero is getting Slim and Fit...all ready for the beach!

Thanks for stoping by Lucy!!!

I love my slow cooker...I used to be able to cook twice a week with it and I would have meal for the whole week....not so much annymore kids are growing and so is their stomach....they often eat more then I do! Next week I am finding a job even if it is like 20 hours a week when my kids are in school that is my goal for the week....school board pay well but really is it worth all that stress!

I had a decent weekends....it was rainy and cold so on Saturday the kids where getting board and a litlle nutty! so I decided to bake cookies with em....they where really good but I was able not to over do it I ate two on Saturday and one today....love home bake goods!!! I did drink a little wine too but again I did portion controle 2 glasses of 4 oz and that was it.......We went for a walk the whole familly together that was my workout and just to make sure I was burning extra calories once we got to the park I raced my dog....not like I could win but still that it made the kids laugh and got my heart pumping for sure...my legs could have kept going but my lungs where on fire...at least I know my legs are getting stronger!

todays meal

breakfast
Vanilla latte ( Tassimo)

Lunch
2 whole eggs 1 ounce of cheese two whole wheat toast and a slice of turkey bacon

diner

I caved in and had a small bowl of Rolo ice cream

see you guys tommorow!

Hello

I am still waitting for the phone call or email letting me know if I have a job or not.....these people are so slow.....in the mean time I keep applying to various jobs....none that pay as much as the school board but at this point something is better then nothing.

Yesterday I was spending the day with a friend who just had surgery and we watch two documentaries, I recommend annyone who wants to loose weight to watch em....I don't say go all crazy and follow that to a T but what they say makes so much sence....the first one was Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, and the other one was Hungry for Change......wow really changes the way one looks at the food industry, I am always one to read what is on a food label......but wow I don't think I ever really understood how much crap is in our everyday foods, and why I have such a hard time to loose weight and why so many cravings.....I want to try the juicing fast....not for 60 days but at least 7 just to reboot my system......I have more research to do before I attempt it, like can I use my blender instead of a juicer and where is my money better spent whit organics, also where I get my protein from....and I also give myself a few weeks to lower my coffee and sugar intake cause that will be the hard part, I didn't think I consumed that much sugar, I don't eat candy, and I dont eat cereals (the cold breakfast kind) But then bread and pasta even if I eat the whole wheat kind your body turnes it into sugar. I will do 5 min of meditation at night before bed to help release the stress so I can sleep better.

I am having kind of a hard day today...my head hurts and I am tired and I just want confort foods :( I caved in at lunch time and ate a whole package of kraft diner......:( that is supposed to feed at least four people...makes me feel even crappier......I guess today is my cheat day....only good thing that happened today was that there was this bottle of pepsi in the fridge and I opened it and went to drink from it and then said no way and poured it down the drain my only good move of the day!...of to take a short walk before picking hte kids up from school hopefully that will make me feel better!

That dog chase over the weekend sounds like it was a fun! It's great knowing your muscles are getting stronger, even if your lungs aren't keeping up just yet.

I couldn't find Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix, but I found Hungry for Change! Added to my list so hopefully will remember to watch it some time soon. I have wanted to watch Super Size Me but never did. Just looked and it's already on my Netflix list hehe.

Sorry you aren't feeling well today :( I've done the full pack of Kraft Dinner before. It's crazy how easy it can be to do! Usually I end up eating half the box which isn't much better :( But good job on dumping the Pepsi! I am proud that I have not bought pop in a while (Except Iced Tea which is for my fiance not me and I don't care for it so YAY!).

Hope the walk made you feel a little better. Don't beat yourself up over the Kraft Dinner, it happens and you can't change it. Maybe go for another walk later tonight? And drink extra water.

Hey Icy, I was able to access the americain Netflix that is how I had access to the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead if you google it I am sure you will find a link where to watch it I recommanded....I am not saying go out and do the juicing that is a personal choice.....I am gonna do it myself...Do I expect a weight loss to happen in that 10 days....yes but I don't know that it will be permanent, my reason for doing it I want to rid myself of caffein and sugar addiction and this seems like a strict enough plan that will help me stick to it! I am starting officially on monday but right now I am testing the different juices and not drinking coffee as a preparation...and it is hard.

Hi Cloudy

ok so as mentioned above I decided to try juicing...I am aiming at 10 days! but we will see if I get migrains or feel bad then I am going back to solid food, mixed in with the juicing! I even tried it for diner yersterday beet and apple and carrot, and Kale.....it was good...not a big fan of Kale on it own smells like freshly cut grass,,,,good smell outside but not in a glass. I have hubby full support he bought me a ton a produce I just need to buy some ginger and some spinach, and I am good to go!

diner

I did a 30 min arm workout with free weight while watching tv,,,,and I will either use the threadmill or the kickboxing dvd this afternoon!

Ok so this is almost a novel so time to catch up on other diaries!!!

Good luck! Hope you get the results you want out of it :) I think it's a great idea with your reasons for doing it. And 10 days seems short enough to not feel like forever, but long enough to hopefully purge your system and not want all the sugars and caffeine you do now.

If you find it's too much, try just 1 solid meal a day and juicing the rest. I've never tried it, but I would think for myself personally I would need a good strong tasting fruit in the juice to get it down. Like Strawberry...I love strawberry :)

Hey Icy....well last night I played around with the juicer a bit and Carrot juice is really good even on it's own,,,,,same with Beet was suprisingly fruit juice like.....and Kale on it's own....yuck! Everyone should have a juicer I don't mean do the fast but I think for those days when you are short on time throw a bunch of stuff in the juicer and voila lunch is made....if if you are in a rush to go , put all the washable part in warm soapy water and you will have an easy cleanup later on!!!I hope my caffein and sugar addiction will be gone ....:)

Whoo hoo! Instdead if staying inside and not exercise grabed the dog and went for a 30 min brisk walk ....did close to 2km in 30 min very proud of myself if I had been home on the threadmill probably would have stoped at 1 KM cause that is when my legs started cramping up a bit.....but couldn't just sit on the curb I had to keep going till I was home!!!! That is 60 min workout for me today!!! Plus I did 25 situps plus 15 I think they are called bicycle crunch don't really know all the terms I am on a roll today and my mood has improved feel less stressed hopefully I can keep this feeling going!!!

That is so great! Good job getting the dog and going outside :) Good for you and probably got the dog's energy all out too.

Good job on the walk and exercises.

Yeah on a nice day I can sometimes bite off a little more than I can chew on a walk. A three mile walk is wonderful on a nice day, but if it's all in one direction it becomes a six mile walk and after five you're ready to just be home.

Happy

I would look kind of silly sitting on the side of the curb playing on my Iphone....if I was 16 that would pass as normal but at 34 not so much!

My dog loves to go for walk...only problem is he is a non nutered male....so he stop quite often unless I almost jog then he thinks we are racing and he doesn't pay the suroundings as much attention

Mr Vee
The little town where I live is kind of perfect for walkers and joggers.....during the day anyways...if I cross the street where I live and I can take a rd that kind goes all around town it is about 6km in total with out having to walk twice on the same spot....a few years back I used to do it almost everyday after the kids where in bed and used a flash light for the areas with no sidewalks or lights....but then a kid that lives two doors down got murdered two years ago....walking outside at night no more....some days when I was at the furthest point from my house I just wanted to stop!

Today was a busy day

I started my day with hot water and lemon and a toasted bagel

then got a call from a friend so I made my juice and headed to her place spent the day there catching up and all.
I got the call from the school board I was waitting for....:( no the news I wanted exactly the full time position they filled in with someone else, but there is a possibility of a temp position in there department and he wanted to know if I was at all interested....so after thinking about how I hate temp job I still agreed....first off I no longer will receive EI second what better way to prove to them that I am good at what I do and make a name for myself then actually working there...who knows another opening could happen at some point! I have to wait till next week for the details....I will start the juice fast on monday but will stop if I start a new job cause I am gonna need all the energie I can get to learn a new positin and prove to them that I am good and worth having full time!

Diner was a bit of fish don't know what type ....but it was ok still trying to get used to fish and a salad.

Can't stay on here long kind of in a rush but I wanted to write down my foods

breakfast
french toast and oranges

lunch
juice

diner....
no idea we are going to eat at my inlaws with both my brother and sisters in law there....maybe we will have more specifics on the trip! :)

Ok.....so didn't make it online yesterday!

Just after I log off on Saturday Hubby came home after running errands to tell me he had been in an accident...thankfully other then our car no one is injured! What he didn't do is call the police so even if the guy missed a stop and hit him the accident will be 50/50. So our insurance will go way up like we need that this year.....then today I go to the body shop to get an estimate and he says the repair may be more then what the car is valued at so it could be a total loss so to top everything going bad this year we may need to make car payements. We need two cars cause hubby takes one to work and I need one to drive the kids to school and to get to work when I actually get a job.

Food yesterday

Breakfast
coffee

lunch
skip it

diner
Veggie Pizza

That sucks about the accident, but so glad nobody is hurt!

As for the new vehicle, perhaps you can find a used one to get you through for a bit? Search adds online, or even go to a dealer. It is a little riskier because you never know what might go wrong with a used car or how the previous owner(s) took care of it, but generally cheaper that way. I totally understand the needing 2 cars and it can really suck.

Sorry you're still having problems getting permanent work, that sucks! At least temping will bring in some money until you do find something. Can imagine how frustrating that must be for you though.

Glad no one was hurt in that accident, was there much damage to the car?

Hello Icy...Lucy

I am very happy no one got hurt....just went to the insurance and get estimates on repairs and so far all estimates are about the value of the car.....if I was just driving locally I wouldn't mind buying a used car but I will have an hour drive to work and hubby has a two hour ride so both of us need a car that will takes us from point A -B .Winter is comming if I have to spend the cash for winter tires I want to used them I can't stay on long I have a ton of housework that I can't put off till next week cause I might be working.....:) and I have to research discrimination laws in Canada....cause my husband 's work place is really pissing me off...and I am sure some of the things they said about him because he is deaf is discrimination ....but before I take actions got to be sure

Food this week I have been alternating between juicing and junk food and skipping meals, wich mean I didn't loose anything and I feel like crap.....but starting at lunch time I will be better!

Yikes! Well hope you figure out the vehicles and find something suitable that doesn't break the bank. (Maybe leasing something a few years old rather than brand spanking new?). Hope you figure out things with hubby's work too, that is really really crappy and sad and a bunch of other not so nice things :(

Good luck with the food choices! It's hard when under that kind of stress to eat right, not really a top priority. Are you joining us in our IcyStarCloud challenge? I have you listed as a participant :) But I can take your name out if you want. You can always join in later if you feel up to it.
