Vancouver Mommy's Online Diary

Lunch Continued: McDonalds Deli Turkey Sandwich

Dinner: Raisin Bran (2 Bowls over about 3 hours) with skim milk and a toffitti cutie mint chocolate ice crea sandwich.

Today I'm going to go to the gym and do cardio only because I'm doing strength training with Robyn 3 x per week now.

Breakfast: Whole Wheat waffles with Peanut Butter.

Do you only eat three times a day and then dessert?

My doc said 1500 - 1800 calories is perfect for me at this point in time.
Do you have a nutritionist available at your gym? This seems quite low for someone eating for two. How tall you are and weight also plays an important factor in determining caloric intake, can you post those?

Hi tonymcclellan,

Thank you for your post. :) I tend to eat very erratically (sp). I am trying to eat 5 meals per day instead of 3 but sometimes it ends up i eat 3 smaller ones and forget to eat the other 2.

Pre-pregnancy I was 126 lbs, and 5'6. I am now 150 lbs. My doctor told me I should gain a pound a week up until about 2 weeks before delivery and then I might even loose weight. He also told me I should add 300 calories a day to what I usually eat and I used to eat about 1200 or so calories a day. There is a nutritionist at my gym and she recommended that I do "the zone" diet but you have to sign up for the meal plan, etc. so I think she might have been trying to get a commission out of me!

What do you think?

Thanks for your post! I just did the calculations and it said 1639 cals to loose weight so if I add the extra 300 for pregnancy, I should be eating around 1939 a day. I've probably eaten that much anyway over the last couple days. :) I've been craving east indian food and ice cream!

B: Two waffles with Peanut Butter & Banana & Pineapple

1639 to lose weight? You dont wanna lose weight however, maybe I gave you the wrong formula. We want to find your maintenance level. How old are you?

This is one formula that I have. These are the results, just determine your lifestyle and go. Ive including losing and gaining just for looks. I would go with the maintenance level and add some to that. Dont worry about what you normally weigh, but how much you weigh now.

BMR 1493.80
Maintenance Cutting Bulking
Sedentary 1792.56 1542.56 2292.56
Light Active 2053.97 1803.97 2553.97
Moderately Active 2315.39 2065.39 2815.39
Very Active 2576.80 2326.80 3076.80
Extra Active 2838.22 2588.22 3338.22

Thank you Tony & Wendy! :)

I just got home from my personal training and she kicked my butt! WOW. She told me that I shouldn't drink flavored water, diet anything, and try and stay away from foods that are high in sodium. I love peanut butter so she told me about natural peanut and tahini butters. I'll try em soon.

Now I just have to figure out what to have for lunch - I want to eat my protein bar but then I think I'll be too full for awhile, unless I break it up into 5 mini-meals. We'll see!

Thanks Stingo for the peanut butter advice! I have the most insane craving for it right now... :)

I forgot to log in and log all my stuff for a couple days so here I start again.

B: Waffles (2) with 1 Tbsp PB and 1 Banana
WO: Personal training 1 Hour
L: ??? not sure yet!

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I am having mini-contractions now so the doctor has told me "no more gym!". I guess these contractions can go on for weeks though so she just told me to wait until they're 5 min. apart and hurt.... ughhhhh... I wish it would just happen now. :) I have to have a c-section this time so I'm not worried about the pain as much.

I am feeling pretty down right now because of how much weight I'll have to loose and I just hope it comes off quickly - I know it takes some time, but I'm feeling extra huge today... It sounds really vain i know. It's just that my husband is into working out alot and he looks really good right now, not too mention all the girls I see daily! It's hard being prego in the summer when everyone is showing off their hot bods! Oh well, I guess I'm just rambling.. it will come off soon enough. :) I think it will be hard to change my eating habits, I have an obsession with peanut butter and dark chocolate right now! I actually ate an entire large dark chocolate bar for breakfast yesterday! YIKES.....

So, I'll log in what I've had so far:

B: 2 blueberry waffles with 1.5 Tbsp Peanut Butter
Finished off Dray's peanut butter toast and a handful of graham wafers
1 cup black decaf coffee with little splenda

I'm going to try and go for a walk today with a gf of mine - that will probably be my only working out from now on. :)

woohoo,we will be hearing baby news very soon from u ,i guess:)
dont forget to post pics of your lil angel
i was 170ish post partum, now i am 103,so dont worry too much right now,new baby brings so much more responsibilty ,u should have enough fats to keep your energy level high,u will be ok honey, hugs

btw,may i ask why u haveto go through c sec?u had anormal delivery before?

I agree...don't worry about the weight loss. I know, easier said than done. I fretted during my last preg. I was able to lose almost all of my preg weight by my 6 week post partum appt. (*sigh* and then gained some. ) It will happen. But hey, if you are having contractions, be careful walking! That can stimulate them! ((HUGS)) We are here for you!:D

When my water broke, it did the "drip, drip, drip." I went to the hospital and the next day they didn't believe me until I got up and walked, then it finally got thru the nurses that my water did break. Ah the joys of being preg.

Thanks She47441, Slimsadie & wendy! I haven't posted in awhile because dray & I were in a bad accident about a week ago. There are no injuries at all - so that is the most important thing! Honestly, I was thinking about what I was going to eat at Tim Hortons and I t-boned a car - what made it worse is that I drive an escalade and i hit a little 2-door. Luckily the gentleman i hit was ok - I felt so freaking bad - first accident I ever had. So my insurance is going up 155%! Oh well..... :)

Anyway, my weight has jumped up to 152 which is normal i guess. I'm hoping to loose about 20 when I deliver but we'll see. I was craving everything from chocolate to cheeseburgers for the past week and i pretty much gave in to it all. :( So, I started focusing a bit more starting wednesday and I'll start journaling again now....

So far: Cup of roobios tea with a little splenda & skim milk - now I'm just trying to figure out what to have for breakfast....
