upper body is TOO big

I have made the mistake of only doing bench and bicep curls in my workouts. Now the width of my shoulders are blown out of proportion with the size of my waist. I am shaped exactly like a triangle. I was wondering if there is anything i can do to make me proportional. Would doing cardio help reduce the size of my upper body? Would working out the back make it appear more proportional? or would it just make it bigger?
 
awww bugger !!! yeah id say try weighted squats and dead lifts ... cardio might help but is more likely just to loose weight in other places hard too tell with little info though.
 
I think this is a common issue - there are plenty of guys at my gym who only work their biceps, triceps and chest... I know those are important features, but don't forget about the rest of your body ;-). And just like evolution said, let the rest of your body catch up.
