Uneven Pecks

hey guys,

i know penny has this similar problem and i hope you can help me too. my right peck is bigger and fuller than my left peck. i assume this is because i perform manual labor and since im right-handed, i do most tasks with my right hand. im just starting out weightlifting and the difference is noticable. im embarrassed, especially when im wearing a tighter shirt. i dont want to ask my friends as they might start to notice it :(. what exercises should i do to even out my pecks? i know the bench is good for it, but what else? should i do more with my left arm? what are some great workouts for pecks? did any of you guys have had this problem?

im sorry if im asking too many questions at once, but i have so many of them. im a newbie in this forum.

my dad has the same problem. he was in an accident last year that seriously injured his right shoulder, but he kept lifting nonetheless. when he does bench press, his left side is much stronger...he just tries to bench levelly and evenly to even it out.
 
Do your chest exercises with dumbells. ALWAYS do equal weights/reps/sets for both sides. If you are as uneven as you make yourself sound your strong side will probably find the exercises less tiring than your weak side, which is not good, but you must resist any urge to do more with the stronger side as this will lengthen the time period where you will remain uneven. Though that should be obvious. The 2 sides will eventually even out and you will be satisfied.

Dumbells are a good idea; if you're using a bar or machine try negative reps (where you lift the bar with both arms and lower it allowing the weaker arm to do most of the work).
 
yea i have the same problem. look a few threads down. its very embarassing but i recorded what i was doin and i kinda noticed my body is leaned more to one side. and when u try to do heavier weights u tend to lean more on ur strong side for support. thats what i noticed for me and i straighten out my body and push evenly.. its evening out slowly but gettin there. im noticing it now.
