UncoverBeauty's Journey Home

Here I go, talking to myself again.

I ordered a small MP3 player that I'm going to load music on so I don't fall over bored at the gym when I go back.

And..I tried green tea. Can't say I love it, but I also don't hate it. I wonder if it will actually do anything. I'm more interested in it for the anti-oxident thing, I really couldn't care if it works for weight loss or not.

Today, I didn't eat anything, and I weighed myself...285 on the dot. If someone could possibly explain how you can eat so much, weigh 285. Wake up in the morning and still weigh 285??

haha i have no idea how that works huni. as for green tea i cant stand the stuff so good luck on that one - good for you for trying new things though that is afterall what this journey is about. wishing you a quick recovery, Sophie x

I don't know either....I ate 2200 calories yesterday, weight trained and am PMSing, and I weighed 142--down from 143 yesterday. Must be the gycogen stores...

Green tea tastes awful if you let it steep. Waving the tea over the cup of hot water is about the only way I can drink it.

How's the healing going? Are you taking arnica?

I've tried plain green tea before and it tasted aweful...this was green teach with peach, so it had more of a peachy flavor. It's not top choice for me, but I suppose if Iever wanna get down a cup or two it'll do =D

Wound -- The healing is going pretty good, it's a slow process, we think it's started to fill in (with new skin) but if it is, it's very little. I can finally sit down, feels good to not lay around all the time. I can walk around without getting sick too, so that makes my days a little less boring.

Foot -- We have no idea what's up with it. When they first did the X-Rays they said "Oh it's broken, blah blah blah" then we had to go back a week or so later and they told us "That was just an imperfection on the X-Ray, she just sprained her ankle very bad." Uh yeh, great going doctor. Grr. At any rate, it hurts to put pressure on my foot, I can walk on it, but that's about it. The top left side sure feels like something more is up with it then just a spraine...but they are the doctors. Heh.

It's such a sneaky frusterating thing! Thank you for the link, it was rather helpful :D

Congrats though, on going down a pound. It sure beats seeing the scale climb during the monthly. lol.

the celestial seasonings green tea with blueberry isn't bad -it's actually pretty good -even iced - it's one of the few green teas i've tried that has a strong flavor..

ah doctors -i've been going on almost 3 years - countless mri's xrays and the like to figureout what's wrong with my shoulder - its really fascinating how doctors who theoretically studied thesame thing in school can come up with vastly different diagnosis :) hope they find your problem fast -shoulder pain is liveable -foot pain stinks

Green tea with peach isn't so bad, and they make it with mango too. It takes the "blahhh" flavor out...sorta. Or you just wait for it to cool, close your eyes and count to three, then convince yourself that you're drinking something wonderful flavored. lol.

Thank you for your recovery wishes!! I'll put them to good work =D

They make it with blueberry?? That sounds pretty good. My mother has a box of Pomigranit tea setting around, that sounds like it should be good.

No kiddin? 3 years and they haven't come up with anything really? It sort of makes you wonder, what can they do that you can't rightly read in a book/look up online. Sure, you can't X-Ray yourself, but you know the pain and what's going on better then anyone. I hope they find it and can at least tell you for sure what it is!!

But I'll tell ya..I have tendinitis in my right rotary (spelling??) cuff, that one is painful at times. So I hear ya with the whole shoulder pain. It's no fun, at all.

I found some wonderful green tea here. It's rolled whole green tea leaves with dried strawberry bits. And the strawberries really take out the bitter taste of green tea. Also the whole leaves are less bitter than the crushed tea leaves in tea bags. I doubt you could find this brand in your stores, but maybe buy whole green tea leaves and dried strawberries and combine the two? And don't let the green tea soak for too long, when the colour is strong the taste will be too strong...

That green tea with strawberries sounds fantastic! I don't mind the flavor of the green tea, actually, I wish it were stronger. It's the half flavor/more watery taste that makes it taste funny (to me anyways). Where is "here" for you??

I'm back down to 280.5, I was up at 286 for 2 weeks. Not sure what that was all about, but I had started eating during the night (because I wasn't sleeping) and I cut that out. Not sure if it'll stay at 280.5, it may go up some, but it's been there for 3 days now. I'm going to cross my fingers on that one. I've gotten my calories back down and under control (instead of being up at 2,000).

I'm trying to play catch up on everyones diaries lately, but have been having problems with migraines and this wound, so I haven't been around much.

I'm popping in less now - I'm trying for a regular Monday, but this week has been manic. Glad to hear you are doing well. How is the recuperating going, it must be hard to cope with? I would be going crazy.

I hope you're feeling much, much better! And keeping up on things. :D
You should write in here more often, I'd like to know how you're doing!

Back To The Old Stomping Grounds

Welp, I'm back. Yay! I took a break from here, I'm not entirely sure why. I suppose when I get discouraged I tend to stray and stray I did!

For about 2 months I counted calories pretty religiously, dropped 15lbs, then lately I've been slacking, really bad, and gained 5 of those pounds back. But, as soon as I start counting calories again, I drop those 5lbs. So generally I sit at 280, and have been there for 2.5 months now. I'm pretty happy about that, generally I have no problems gaining weight.

Uhm, I've figured out that I don't really need to go by the scale. When I was 295 you could tell it in my face, when I dropped down to 280, you could tell even more that I had lost those 15lbs. So, everytime I notice a change in my face, I knw to stop eating! (Or well, stop eating as much and to actually pay attention to what I'm doing/eating). Which in all honesty, I think is sort of neat, being able to tell that way.

My wound is healing up fantastically; it's such a slow process, but it's not as deep anymore which means.......

I get to run!!!!

I've been dying to get out there and go running, and now I can. Woohoo!!! I'm going to start everything Monday.

I've started counting calories again, to be honest, I don't give two hoots about what I eat, long as it doesn't contain a bunch of fat and doesn't send me high up into the calorie range. As long as it looks/feels/taste/IS healthy, I'll eat it. And I've worked out how many calories I want to eat and such. I've learned what works for me. And I'm glad I took those 2 months to figure out how simply eating can change for me. :D

On Monday I'm going to get my butt back to the gym, I've worked out what I want to do, and because I'm me, I looked up a website that you can count the calories you burn, based on your weight and how long you did each activity. Using a 4 week month; I changed what I do and for how I do it every week, so each week is different. I'll get bored less fast that way.

I have this entire chart, that lists how many calories per activity, times the amount of times I go. Then counted out a calorie limit and figured out how many I'd burn vs eaten and such. I think that's more fun to figure out then actually exercising. *Grins* To bad thinking doesn't burn much. lol.

Everybody here is starting to look fantastic!! (Not that they weren't before, but I haven't lurked around here in a bit, so some of you have really changed!) Alot of you are going to be showing off all your hard work for summer!

My only real goal is to lose a fair amount of weight before I start college in the fall.

Oh, and to fit into my mothers wedding dress within the next 2 years ;)
