UncoverBeauty's Journey Home

I didn't have time to read back from the beginning yet, but I will! I just wanted to say Hi and thank you for your comments in my diary. It means a lot when people notice that I'm trying to do my best. Of course, the ticker at the bottom of the posts help, but I'm gonna ignore that! LOL. Anyway, just wanted to say Thank You and give you some support in return!

You are completely welcome txturtlegirl!! I've been reading through your journal too!

Tuesday, Tuesday, what's a girl to do about Tuesday? Welp, I damn near ate everything in sight yesterday..actually not in sight, but I made a cake. (I tend to bake when upset, and I bake in mass amounts when upset. I generally don't eat what I bake, but it was chocolate, I have my period, you better believe I ate it!) My calories ended up being around 2,070 yesterday, which doesn't seem so bad in theory, but the fact that most of that came from cheese and cake and other none good things, then it gets bad. Tho, I did eat salad yesterday, not that that really helps, but I got some green down. (Though, the dark green is the one that's better for you, heh). Today I'm trying to stay within 20fat grams, and that's going to force me to eat good things! I had read in a book that my mom had, that 26g was good, but if I can't do it at 20g I'll do it at 26g.

I need exercises that I can do at home, that I can do inside. I currently share my car with my older brother and he has to take it for a few weeks which leaves un able to get to the gym, so if anyone has an suggestings of things to do at home, I'd be very happy to hear from you!!

Thanks!

I can send you some exercises to do. Just let me know how much time you have and if you got a treadmill, a bike, a stepper...

Roar!

I can send you some exercises to do. Just let me know how much time you have and if you got a treadmill, a bike, a stepper...

=/ see that's the thing, I don't have a treadmill/bike/or stepper or anything like that at home. And my parents aren't to crazy about having to buy anything either. So I'm kinda stuck, but if you have anything that could be improvised or adapted for everyday run of the mill house things, I'll give it a go!

Hon, have you checked out the fitness sections on SparkPeople or Fitday? I know SparkPeople gives you suggestions (and demo clips) on exercises you can do at home, with just your weight as resistance.

I've checked fitday before...as for sparkpeople...silly me didn't read that you had to be 18 to sign up and since they log your IP address, I can't sign up with them or anything. But I'll do some checking around online

Welcome! It sounds like you're doing great!

Don't be so hard on Arby's - it's my choice for diet fast food. An arby's melt is only 303 calories and has all the deliciousness of beef & cheese on a bun. I can resist hamburgers if there is an arby's nearby :)

As for exercise at home, a couple of ideas. First - try finding workout shows on TV. Most of them are kind of lame, but it'll get you moving.

I also play Dance Dance Revolution - if you happen to have a playstation it's fairly cheap in comparison with a treadmill.

Hula hooping is a great workout. Jumping rope is too! Or take up a new skill like juggling, yoyo, learning to stand on your head - anything is better than sitting on the couch.

You can also do a lot of strength training at home. Use a gallon of water as a weight, or just do the exercises without weights. Lunges, crunches, stretching, all great stuff and easy to do without having to buy a thing.

Hope this helps!

Running up and down stairs, or just stepping on the bottom step, is as boring as hell, but effective.

Thank you for your reply!! I've always wanted to play DDR, but I don't have a PS2 nor the money for one, so that's out. I'm going to do jump roping though, I always liked that and I haven't tripped myself yet so =D I had used those big cans of baked beans for strength training, but after a week or so mom was looking for them...I had to give them back. lol.

2/3 me:: I think I'll try the stepping using the staires! Thanks for the advice!

So sticking to 20grams didn't work today..I kinda went up to 40grams..eep! Well tomorrow is a brand new day and I'll have a brand new outlook so yay!! :p

Hey! It's nice reading someone who is 17 also, even though everyone on here is so inspiring, sometimes things go a little easier when you have someone your own age. Thank you though and I'll most def. keep everyone updated and I'll check in on you too! =P

Restart

Okie dokie, round two. Or as I'd like to call it "get off your ass for once!!" I'm not really gonna bother making any weight loss plans until March 12th. Because of my surgery the 21st, I'll be down and out for a few weeks and its vital I eat for my wound to heal right. BUT that doesn't giveme an excuse to be a pig, and I wont be, I'll just eat a bit more then I usually do. But I'll make sure it's healthy =D

I've decided that there is no way in heaven that I'd ever be able to follow a 20g fat diet, so I upped it to 26g and I've begun making a list of foods that interest me, that are low in fat and calories and that are good for me. I've also thrown in the option of angel food cake, it's low in calories and low in fat and will satisfy any sweet tooth issues. I'm also going to throw in more fruits and vegetables...andddd

Water!!! Water, water, and more water!

I tweaked my workout too, I've decided I'm going to burn upwards of 1,300 calories per day (I'm addicted to that dang ellipitical!!!), which I'm hoping for 20lbs gone in one month. After that month, the next month I'm upping my calories and hoping for a 2 to 3lb weight loss per week. Once I hit 250 I'll taper off and hope to get into a 1 to 2lb lost. I know that can all change, but I'm going to work my ass off..literally!!! And I'm involving weight training in order to try and stay somewhat ahead of or right up there with this loose skin bit, if I run into that problem, which I more then likely will.

I'm starting March 12th :p

Count on me for whatever you need. :) I am here for you. My type of problem is a little bit different, and even kinda weird, but I need to shake it off and live my life normally again.

Your plan sounds interesting...And yeah, water is sooo important for weight loss. Are you having a gastric bypass surgery?

Take care <3

Good luck with your surgery! You're absolutely right: you've got to recover before you start thinking again about dieting.

Oh gosh..my oh my no! I'm not having gastric bypass. I was born with a pilondial cyst and they took it out last April and they let it heal open wound, but it didn't heal all the way for me, so they have to reoperate and try and close it!

*Sighs* I've been keeping up with my calories, have kept them mainly below 1,300. I haven't really exercised...at all. I'll do it after surgery. That and we've been snowed in for four days. I've had some sorta weird period that made me bloat up to 284, but I'm back down to 280.5. That makes me feel a bit better. I feel like my face is getting slimmer. It's probably my imagination, but when I feel around my neck I can feel my collar bone a lot more (now, just to get it to surface, heh) and my neck seems slimmer and it seems like things are becoming more defined. I don't know, I could be imagining it. I hope I'm not. I was pretty happy about being at 280.5lbs...n then a guy had to ruin it for me.

A guy I dated for three years, then whom he kept up with talking to me for another year (4 years marked of friendship on Vday and he didn't even aknowledge it) that he liked me, was attracted to me, wanted to see me. Turns out, he likes this other girl, only wanted me for, well, other reasons. And that he wanted a skinny girl, a girl he can be proud of, who is skinny and beautiful.

There went my proudness of losing that weight. I don't eat when upset though. Which is good. (Ever since I was little, if I was yelled at or got upset, I got sick and lost all sense of wanting food, heh).

I don't know whether or not to be proud of this; but about two years ago I bought three sports bras (they came in a pack) and I could not fit them. They were waaay to small. (I'm talking bandwise, since they don't really have cup sizes) and they are a 38. I was always a 42D, I can't remember ever being a B or a C. I'm kinda happy bout this, but at the same time, I happen to be rather...attached to my breasts and would really like to keep them. I suppose I have to look at it this way...lose weight, be healthy, cope with a B or C or stay fat and keep my D's. I'd kill to lose weight, so, I'll take my loses =( Look at me, going on about something that shouldn't really matter. Heh.

I also don't understand....my pants feel tighter. The jeans that I took my pictures in, feel tight in the waist, BUT I've lost weight....and they weren't tight when I had taken those pictures in the pictures section. So I don't know if the scales are lying to me or if I'm getting fatter. Everyone says "Determine by your clothing" how do you do that when the scale says I'm losing but the pants say I'm just fat?

I'm not in a good mood. Not at all. And if this all sounds like whining..well, that's not my intention, I'm just frusterated and a bit more then hurt.
