Hi

Just wondering..is there a certain method to lose weight in the hips, beside doing lunges and squats...

I am exercising..but my hips size just do not seem to reduce ..I desperately need to get this down, its so difficult to find pants.

The thing is, I have lost weight from every other area except the hip size...how come..do you think eating has something to do with it.
I eat less fried stuff, should I avoid chicken...???

well avoid fried chicken sure! but baked? I wouldn't , baked chicken is good for you! Unfortunatly you cannot spot reduce :( Just continue to lose weight and maybe measure your hips to see what kind of progress your having...but no, sorry, no spot reduction.

Perhaps your genetics make it so that fat goes to your hips first as you gain weight. Which means fat will leave your hips last as you lose weight. This is how it works --> Where ever fat goes first is where it will leave last. This could possibly be the reason you aren't seeing a major change in your hips yet.

You cannot spot reduce fat. What this means is you can not try to lose fat in one particular area of your body only. (Only surgery like lipo can do that). When you are doing cardio, you burn fat from all over your body. Only when you are lifting weights or doing a toning exercise will you see changes in muscle for the particular area you are working on. You mentioned that you're doing squats and that's great for toning your quads and glutes.

Chicken is one of the leanest meats and is a great source of protein. Avoid fried chicken. Stick to baked, steamed, grilled or boiled.

I have the same problem :( as well as inner thighs. My hips are wide too (naturally) and on top of that there's fat on them. It's weird...I weigh 146 pounds, I'm 5'7 and I wear size 11 jeans (that's in junior sizes, but i guess its the same as misses sizes). Anyways, if anybody could answer kalp1200's question, it would help me out too. Thanks.
