I'm a 20 year old 5'5, 247lb woman determined to lose 25 pounds by new years. With the help of my fiancee and some online friends I'm ready to kick my butt into gear and start working out. It won't be easy but I need to do it for my health and my wedding.

Week ones routine
Each day
Walk to tim hortons ( Buying nothing it's just the only landmark within a reasonable distance)
30 mins of some form of working out ( stairs,leg lifts or workout disc)
Drink 1L of water a day.
 
YOU GO, UMBRA!!! You sound like one determined lady! I have no doubt that you can achieve this goal, especially with a wedding for motivation and a fiance cheering you on. You are on the verge of a brand new life, girlfriend. BTW, are you a fellow Canuck who has the supreme blessing/curse of having a Timmy's in walking distance to your home? LOL Just make sure if you DO enter, you only buy a Timbit!

Aww thanks. Yeah I'm a Canuk and timmies is awesome. I did end up going in for a bagel when I realized it was better than the food i had planned.

Progress so far: Made the walk to timmies and back ( developed friction blisters/ rashes between my thighs :mad: )

Next: find different clothes and walk to the grocery store.


to do: find my damn workout dvd.

Sounds like you have some good plans in mind to achieve your goal

i recommend Carmen Electra's workout dvd's, they get your heart rate pumping and give you an awesome all over body workout !
 
*waves to Faye* We actually have her first striptease dvd. I can't get through the whole thing but what I can do is fun and pretty hard.

Day 1 incomplete

Walked to Timmies and back.
Walked to grocery store ( past timmes) and carried groceries back.

try her hip hop workout.

its really not like hip-hop, more like funky dance. i find it easy to follow :)

also try youtube. they have some good 10 minutes exercise video's... and theres no harm looking, seeing as its free :D

Gods but this would be so much easier if everyone i knew wasn't almost a rail or content with where they are weight wise.
 
its tough when its like that for sure. But just ignore them and concentrate on YOU =)

all my friends back home are super in shape, yet eat AWFUL. im looking forward to when their eating habits catch up with them :p a little sinister but oh well.
 
I have the Carmen Electra DVD's as well... I really only like the fit-to-strip DVD. It is a great workout!

Sounds like you are off to a good start! You might want to up your water to 2L a day.

Official entry number 1.
I really need to get a differnt shedule. being up from 2pm untill 7 am is good for contacting friends in other timezones but it's screwing me up a bit.
So far i'm semi motivated and happy that I've magically gone from 247.8 ( weighed sunday) to 244.4 weighed in today. I'm pretty sure the scale is off or something, I can't possibly be losing weight that fast.

Tommorow/ today I need to start using the dvd in addition to my walk.

completed today
1 walk to timmies and back. .45 kilometersx2
1 walk to nofrills ( distance unknown. it's five minutes further away than timmies)

ate
1 wholewheat bagel with cream cheese
2 sausages in buns with ketchup
4 ginger cookies
half a cup of a slimfast shake
 
i say this so often i'm pretty sure that people think I have some sort of urine fetish - I really dont - it's just the most accurate way of seeing if you are getting enough water...

When you use the rest room, check the color of your urine - if it's anything but a pale yellow, you are not drinking enough water... THere are a bunch of threads on this forum that discuss water consumption -and the end result (after much head banging on both sides) is that you should drink as much water as you need...

The formula I've seen is half your body weight in ounces per day - but also remember there's a lot of water in foods you eat - so the urine test is a good indicator.
 
Well it appears I'm drinking enough.

It's pretty much the end of day 2 (though I'll still be up another 6 or so hours) and things look ok. My entire body would like to kill me body I'm pressing on. I also found enough time to get in a decent amount of exorcise and still play online and watch the biggest loser and house and som other t.v

Watching my food intake is interesting since' I'm not really sure how many calories i need. due to various fiancee problem my past diet ( in the last year especially) ranged from one very small meal a day to a full three and junk food snacks) I suppose my next few weeks will tell me if I need to lower what I eat

Day two official report

ate
1. 1 cup raisin bran and 1 cup 2% milk = 250 calories
2. wholewheat bagel and butter = unknown ( I am NOT going into the timmies anymore, no more extra breakfast.)
3. 16 meatballs = 664
4, spaghetti = unknown
5. sauce = 120
6. garlic bread = 300

total=1334 + unknown
on top of that I will be adding slimfast shake ( 127) and an apple at some point in the next six hours.

All in all I'm probably around 2k calories for today

Workout.
Walk to Timmies and back .45 kilometersx2
Walk to convenience store and back (was looking for a tape measure sadly the one in there was tiny) distance unknown but closer than timmies.
30-45 mins of various exorcises I remember from gym class though damned if i remember their exact names.

My body hurts like hell but I think I can manage another 15 or so minutes in about 3 hours.

LOL Oh my gosh, if you could only see my VERY SKINNY husband! It drives me batty. The guy can eat a pie. Not just a piece, but an entire pie! And of course, not gain an ounce. However, I tell him that he is fat on the inside! hee hee Actually, he has this incredible metabolism. His BMI is that of a total athlete, which is sooooo unfair, because he is not! I wish both of my daughters would inherit his skinny genes, but it looks like only one did...*gulp* the other one is just like me! Poor, pear-shaped thing...however, I do tell her that she is going to be very curvy, which men like. And that she needs to make healthy food choices to avoid my own poor health! That is, my formerly poor health. As of now, I am certain that I am INVINCIBLE!!! What other word could possibly describe a gal who can go into Timmie's and order only a cup of coffee and a Timbit? ;)

ABBAgirl: Ahh I love and yet hate those skinny skinny people I know who just don't gain weight. My onefriend is in the military, has been for like two or three years. He's like washboard things but he's all muscles and he can easily lift me up. Course he works for those muscles but still I am envious becuase his metabolism is so high at this point it doesn't matter what he eats or drinks.

Get your similar daughter to work out with you, then you have have a Timmies resisting partner. ( Is currently not walking there anymore becuase it's too hard to not get a bagel that early in the morning when it smells so fine)


I'm working hard and really showing my fiancee that I'm dedicated to this and havingher join up with me is already having it pay off.

today's workout Update: Computer dvd drive is made of fail and got me through the dvd warmup before overheating. The other two dvd players require my fiancees help to get working so my workout is temporarily put off until later tonight.
 
wii sports is my new favorite workout. boxing is a right bitch and baseball too. I'm drenched in sweat but atleast I worked off those jubejubes.

todays calories are only slightly over 700 today. weird sleep patterns and all. i'll probably add more jubejubes or another slimfast shake to raise them though
 
wow 700 is not enough girlie.

i know you don't normally go that low from previous posts but def try get that number up :)

i cant talk really my calories seem to be stuck around 1300 most days, but im trying lol.

hey Faye, yeah I added more later but I still didn't get them very high last night. Today's somewhat screwed up becuase I've been asleep forever and eatign times are retarded. I'll make up for it. More wii boxing and all my harder major sweating workouts.
 
hehe awesome.

yeah sleep can mess up your day completely. It did mine today, my lunch was like dinner, dinner like a post gym snacks. now im starving ARRRGG food time :p

pretty much end of day four. My body wants out and it wants out now. My feet kill, my ankles are sore. I hear constant crackling when i stand or stretch. Getting up to walk is awkward and the pain pulsing through my spine is fucking horrid.

SHUT UP WHINY I BODY FEEL AWESOME ^-^

I sleep great now, I have less depressed moments out of the blue and I am motivated to get to my workouts and feel those first drops of sweat.

Tomorrow is cardio day and provided my body is recovered I am going to get through at least the first workout past the warmup on my dvd. If it stops fricken raining I'll also be spending about 15 mins on the stairs outside.

due to bad food choices this week ( way to go self like you really needed three loaded tacos) I doubt I'll be dropping any weight but we see what happens when sunday comes.
 
Hello! Im new to this like you. Looks like youre doing great! Even if you dont feel like it, you are. I feel the same way some days.

I have a love/hate relationship with that achiness. I hate the way it feels, but love the fact it means Im using muscles I dont use. Eventhough I SHOULD use them everyday..lol

I do Turbo Jam. Ive never tried the Carmen videos. Ive lost all the weight I have on strictly Turbo Jam....Turbo Jam is awesome!!

On days I dont work out, even on my rest days, I feel so lazy. Its weird. I never knew I could feel that way about working out. I feel as though I cheated by not working out, eventhough I know my body needed the break. Can we ever win? lol
