turkey burger

Is turkey burger really that much better than lean beef? I've read the packages obviously but would like to get some opinions on it. To me it tastes pretty much the same but more expensive.

Am I wasting my money?
 
Well it all depends what the nutritional facts are. I know the burgers I make are from extra lean groundbeef (93/7) which make them pretty healthy and hard to beat. I imagine you're buying the turkey burgers pre-made so they're prob high in sodium right off the bat.

no premade stuff. I buy it mostly for tacos, chili, etc.

I can't bring myself to eat an actual turkey burger yet.
 
IMO protein from meat is all created equal (tuna is the exception), so as long as the fat content isn't to different it's not that big of a difference.
 
it matters whether its 'ground turkey' vs 'ground turkey breast'. ground turkey is usually a lot of dark meat, which can make it no better than hamburger (possibly worse than 95% lean diet lean grd. beef)

I stick to ground turkey breast which is nice and lean.
buffalo is another good ground beef substitute.
or get ground sirloin. a butcher can grind any boneless steak for you, which cuts down the fat.

and some really lean ground beef isn't the end of the world. moderation is key.
