I found this website yesterday and decided that I like this idea of checking in daily, for all the world to see if they want to. Perhaps that will keep me motivated.:)

This was my first day of my weight loss process.

Currently, I weigh 189.8. My goal weight is 135. My height is 5' 6". I've decided that the best method for me is to count calories. Today, calories consumed were 1200. I walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill - after I walked a mile with my dogs. For the past few months, I have been walking on the treadmill, so this was not new. Counting the calories was new.

I know that I eat when I am stressed, so I am working on reducing stress and finding another way to handle it.

Today was a good day!

I'm still trying to figure out this whole website, so I may need some help there. How do I get the little scale at the bottom of my post so that I can track my weight loss?

Later,
Tulip

Because I have been having problems with the internet, I wasn't able to log on yesterday.

This is day 3 of my weight loss process. My starting weight was 189.6. This morning my weight was 187.

I have been steadfastly counting calories and so far have consumed approximately 1200 calories per day. My goal is to eat healthfully. Today was not as good in that respect because I didn't plan my meals as well. Too many distractions led to me having to "wing" it and I could have made better choices with food if I had on hand what I needed.

Generally, I walk a mile with my dogs daily along with 30 minutes on the treadmill. Today, my treadmill is having problems, so I wasn't able to use it. I planned to walk at the park, but time just got away from me. So, I will have to let it go for today. The treadmill track is off and I will have to wait for my husband to have time to fix it this weekend.

I work at home, so my job can be stressful with all of the distractions caused by pets, husband, home projects, etc. That is when I have a tendency to overeat, so I am trying to handle those situations without resorting to food.

So far, I think I am doing pretty good.

Today was good. Kept calorie intake low ~ 1200. Down to 185.6 - started at 189.6.

Not yet able to use treadmill - it is down. Walk with dogs - only 3/4 mile today.

Crazy day - very hectic.

Hard time figuring out this website. Will get there.

Hi Tulip,
I just wanted to stop in and say hello and welcome you to the WLF :)

Remember not to let your calories get too low - and 1200 is pretty low. I learned the hard way - and have had to slowly increase my calories.

You really don't want 1200 to become your *maintenance* level!

I hope you have a good weekend!

Thanks brazenlysasse and M2M for your comments! I appreciate the interaction. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to get on this website. I am self-employed, so it seems like every minute of every day is taken up with something.

Quite honestly, I don't know that much about weight loss. I have struggled with weight after about age 30. Prior to that, I was pretty slender. I went through a divorce at that time and found comfort in food for the first time in my life. That I guess sort of developed into a stress handling strategy, so here I am today! So, as far as what is the best way to lose pounds - I'm just try to eat healthy and keep my calories low. How can that affect maintenance weight? Are you saying that your body adjusts to having fewer calories? What would be the best amount of calories for a healthy person who is 50 lbs overweight?

Again, today I consumed about 1200 calories. I walked my dogs for a mile. Hopefully the treadmill will get fixed tomorrow!

I started at 189.6 lbs and am at 185 lbs. My jeans are fitting a little bit better, which I am very glad at.

How do I get my weight ticker from tickerfactory.com to show up on my post?
Also, I'd like to get the blue question mark off of the start of my journal! I'd like to add a picture too. Help!

Well, this weekend it was harder to keep calories lower because we went out to dinner on Saturday eveing. Plus it was Easter on Sunday and I did have a little bit of candy. Oh well...that's life! I didn't blow it badly or anything, just not ideal.

Fortunately, my husband fixed the treadmill and I'm back on track there. Will get back into my calorie count tomorrow.

Have a great week tulip and M2M is totally right, if your calories are too low, you will have a hard time losing that weight. Your body will hold on to the fat to ensure its getting enough nutrients. glad to hear the treadmill is fixed
