trying to get back into shape while in Iraq

After working 3 jobs and being a full time student I'm trying to get back into shape now that I'm here in Iraq. Trust me being in shape is a really good idea over here and there's not much else to do. I would like to know what every's thoughts are on hypertrophy-specific training.

My goal is to lose some weight (my gut) and to maybe put a little more size in my arms and chest. I'm not fat by any means, but let's just say i could stand to take off at least 10, if not 20 lbs. Is this a good workout for this or am I wasting my time? Thanks for all of your time

Uhm.. I don't really see the workout that you are talking about if that is what you meant. I would say to do a full-body workout either way, hit the weights hard with low reps and plenty of compound exercises.

Dude, when I was in IraQ, I worked out toward the evenings...when Temperature was a little cooler. Do not work out during the day, especially if your in the middle of the Desert.

Just do a crap load of sit-ups...push-ups and crunches. You should have plenty of Down-Time unless your pulling duty. Drink plenty of water!

do you have acces to an equipped gym there?
You only want to get big, not stronger or get more endurance which might actually help you if you get in a battle situation?

I'm sure that he is getting plenty of "endurance" training. I don't know about you but when I was in the desert, (CAX, not Iraq) I found it next to impossible to gain much size with the weather, food and training. Try to focus on gaining strength, eat as much as you can, and of course......drink water, stay motivated!
