Trying to gain muscle in an aerobic world...

Hey everyone,

I was looking for some tips to keep/gain muscle on from my workouts even though I'm having to persevere through lots of aerobic exercise from basketball practices that I attend. I eat tons of protein, don't drink softdrinks, and rarely eat junk food in general. Didn't know if any of that info mattered.

Thanks.

You'll be fine as long as you eat enough. If you're taking in more calories than you are burning off, you'll be able to gain. Use a BMI calculator to figure out roughly how many calories you need to maintain at your current activity level, then add 500 calories to have enough surplus to build muscle.

haha, ole basketball eh? Ill admit that sport is kinda hard to make muscle gains in.(if ur like on a team and play a lot) I have friends who r big BBall players and there small in body fat and body size. All i can tell you is to ride out the season and wait til the off season then bulk up.

The workout my friends do is a lot of high rep stuff for upper body and a lot of jumps and explosive movements for legs(this will build muscle!!). if that workout sounds vaguely familiar than where on the same page lol

I like what I'm seeing from both posts. I'm going to try to keep at my same body weight and gain a little. And if this cannot be achieved, I'll have to live with keeping what I have on, and waiting to bulk. Any other opinions?

do two fullbody workouts a week, thats it,and eat plenty.
