Trops Diary

I'd remove the mushrooms and just add a shit ton of hot peppers to go with those beans and I'd be all over that! Nice lookin' dinner. I'm not sure what I'm having tonight... I'm working late and heading to the bar this evening. Probably just canned soup. That makes me want to punch kittens and I LOVE KITTENS! Oh well, better (for me) than a quarter pounder on my way home.

Well, my plans for today got a little side tracked. My mother in law was being honored for the charity work that she does, and they had a recognition breakfast thing today, so I went to that. It was nice, but they had all this food that I'm avoiding. Eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, bagels, pastries. I was hungry because I had skipped my usual cereal breakfast, but I still managed to have just a little scrambled eggs (tasted bad compared to my fresh eggs) and fruit. That thing lasted about 2 and a half hours. After that I had some running around to do before work. I made a roast beef and mozzarella on sprouted wheat bread with mustard for lunch.

Now I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma. We have friends visiting this weekend and they are getting to our house tonight. The band is coming over to jam and I have the usual assortment of cheese and crackers chips and dip and stuff. Nothing too bad, but nothing too healthy. Also, there will be a bit of drinking. I am getting off work early tonight because of it. My question to myself is do I eat at work and say that I won't snack at home, thus risking extra if I do eat at home. Or do I skip eating dinner with the idea that those calories will be spent on cheese? I'm tempted for the latter. If there is cheese and crackers out, I know I'll be eating some. If I don't it will mean that there is some good times going on and I'm too distracted anyway.

Oh, and it looks like the workout today is not happening. I think I'll have to go for another long run tomorrow. That's probably not a bad idea since my ankle is feeling real good today, tomorrow it will be even better.

Eat something like a salad and some protein to fill up a bit, then let yourself 'indulge' a bit in the snacks. Just don't go overboard.

I say DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH!! You've been doing awesome lately, so enjoy the evening and don't obsess over everything that goes in your mouth!! Just have a good time!!

Thanks for the welcome back. Things are really really good. I've been doing better about snacking lately. But for me, I have to stay away completely or I'll go overboard, and eat too much, especially when drinking. If you can keep it to a small amount, I say definitely do that. If not, eat something you really like beforehand, so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything.

The jam session was a blast. Not so much with anything new, but we worked on some of our older stuff and it was sounding good. We haven't done this probably since the summer, so it was good to get back to it. We try to get together twice a month, so now I think we'll start to get back to it.

I ate way too much, though. Lots of brie, but other then that it was mostly good stuff. I cooked up a turkey kielbasa and cut it into disks and put that out with mustard. No one knew that it wasn't beef/pork. Pretty good.

Today I'm making it a point to get out running. Even if I don't get out till after dark. Unfortunately it's been raining and it might start up again, but even if it's dark and raining, I'm running. :toetap05: No excuses, tonight.
