Trops Diary

I'm def joining the jump rope club. I really like that ross-training guy's gym. He has a lot of really cool workout gear. I guess you could say his training style is very dynamic.

Nah, it snows around here but not all that much. The Gulf Stream keeps it warm enough around the coast.

Whereabouts? I think you mentioned being near Montauk at one point. I'm just far enough inland in Mass that I get most of the heavy stuff. My brother lives about an hour away from me just near the RI border on the coast and gets next to nothing most of the time. He gets that last little burst of warm air flowing off the sound before it gets kicked out to sea by Cape Cod, LOL.

Man, I love Halloween! I went to a kid's party last night and I was the only father dressed in costume. What's with these people? There were a few moms in costume, but no dads. I have a kicking pirate costume now, and the kids were facinated by the real sword and knife. I wouldn't let them take them out of the scabbards even though I took the edge off them both.

Of course I ate some real junk. Cookies, brownies, a cup cake, more cookies. I came home and had a couple glasses of wine. Really enjoyed it. :D

This afternoon we are going trick or treating around here, then going to my mom's for trick or treating and dinner with cousins and such. After that we are going camping for the weekend. It's supposed to be very cold, but we'll bundle up real good.

Enjoy! The littlins and I are staying indoors this year(it's pouring outside right now) but we're all dressed up and had a blast doing halloween crafts and baking. I LOVE this time of year. have fun on your camping trip and know I'm over here envying you. :)
Merry Samhain!!:seeya:

I forgot to mention that after that cookie binge last night I was a pound lighter this morning. Just goes to show how a scale can lie. :D

hey..cookies and such can be magical.

My Father went on his infamouse doughnut diet one year...he ate nothing but homemade doughnuts and lost 10lbs. lmao.

It's Halloween, you can't denie yourself on Halloween. It's just one day out of however many, you hop back on the wagon and soon cookies and cupcakes become a distant memory :p

Yeah, that's the plan. Problem is there is always one day out of many. It's the weekend, it's soandso's birthday, Thanksgiving, rough day, it's cold out, it's beach time. There is always an excuse, and I have them all.

Well, it is part of the big picture.

You can buy yourself candy any time of the year. You don't have to indulge just because it is Halloween.

Don't know about ya'll, but if I indulge too much one night I find it harder the next day to stick to my plan. I feel hungrier after eating junk.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TROPS!!!!

I'm glad you had a great time. And nice with the pirate costume, are we ever going to see a picture?

What wine did you have????? :drool5:

What a weekend. My whole body feels just wrung out like an old dish rag. That's a good thing when it's from just too much fun.

Friday was a run around getting things set up. After the kids went to school, I packed up the stuff for camping and went to the site and set it all up. Then I got home for just about the time that they got out of school. We all got dressed in our costumes and went trick or treating on Main Street. Very cool. They shut down the street for an hour and a half and it's just all these kids in costume (and a few parents). From there we went to my mom's to go trick or treating and have dinner. All but two of my siblings were there, which was cool, and all the cousins, my mother in law, cousins' friends. Big party. I ate everything bad for me. Chocolate bars, pizza, chocolate bars, wine, more chocolate bars. Oh, and I found out that my niece won the counties in the 5k. Next Saturday is the States and she thinks that she can take that too.

From there we went to the camp site where things were in full swing. Ate, drank, made merry, had a great time. Went to bed some time around 4-5 in the morning, but had to get up for 9 Saturday. Got up and went home for soccer game, then back to the camp site. More of the same for Saturday except that's when we had the pig roast. Damn, that was some good pig. Good food, good wine, good beer, great pumpkin cheesecake bars for desert, and of course drinking and such all night again. In bed for 4 after changing the clocks, then up at 7:30. Damn, it was cold. Breakfast was bagels and donuts.

Cleaned up the site from the weekend, packed up and went home. The whole family was just kaput. We got Chinese food for diner, and I pigged out on that.

Now I know that according to things that it takes 3500 calories to make a pound, so for me to "gain" the ten pounds that the scale says, I would have to consume 35,000 calories this weekend. I don't know. I just might have done that. :ack2: Well, this next week should be fun. :smash:

Yeah, the thing that makes it easier is to know that I will not give up. If I was thinking that I have to do this by such and such a date, or for this, then I'd be bummed. Maybe I wouldn't have been so caviler, but I know that all this is temporary and to get back to it.

The frightening thing is to think about how easy it was to jump back to the old ways. Constant diligence I guess.

Yeah, but like any weekend bender, it's just inertia. The best way to stop and get back on the wagon is after a good night's sleep and starting with a morning run and a decent breakfast IMO

Inertia is a great word for it.

I know you can get back into it quickly.

Hee, hee. Hard to get in that morning run after working the midnight shift. Then again, the good night sleep might get me fired. :biggrinjester:

I'm going to try to get to the gym tonight while the kids are eating dinner. I've been real good food wise today.

Nah, I'm just the king of excuses. :biggrinjester:

I work midnights till Friday, then off the weekend. Evenings start next Monday. I usually don't lose anything while on Midnights, but I'm starting at an elevated high, so I'm sure I'll lose some.
