Trops Diary

Great way to get those great fall veggies in!

Btw, thanks for all your support when I need it most.

My condolences for your family... it makes it a little easier when you know it's coming, but it's still a loss...

You seem to REALLY be a hands on dad! That's so awesome!!! I applaud you for that! :hurray: Kids grow up so fast, one day they're little and then next day they're grown... you can't get back those moments... your kids will always remember how much you were there and you won't have regrets about missing watching them grow! :hurray:

Thanks, Paula. Yeah, I'm a hands on dad. My work schedule and stress level is a lot easier then my wife's, so I am all hands on whenever I can. They are great kids with the most amazing minds. I love watching them surpass me in every way. :D

I keep reminding the kids about how short time is. When they say that they can't wait till this age, or that age, I tell them that they only have 365 days to be 6 or 8 or whatever age they are. Then, they will never be that again, so make the most of this age. They don't get it really, but they will. Also, I cured my dad of that, too when he said that he can't wait till the kids are old enough for this or that. I told him that he's wishing away his own life, and at 66 he really can't afford the time. He doesn't say that anymore. :biggrinjester:

Isn't it sad that we don't realize until we're grown how short childhood actually is (and how over rated adult hood is lol). That's funny about your dad too... :)

I think it is funny about my dad, too. We have a great relationship. It's an adult friendship, which is nice. Because of that, I feel the freedom to bust on him without it being disrespectful. :biggrinjester:

Lol, that's how my mom and I are too... didn't used to be that way; she was definitely my MOM growing up, not my friend! That's the way it should be IMO... there is plenty of time to be friends with your kids once their grown. ;)

Today is going. I really want to get out and do some running, but it's raining right now and it's predicted to keep raining for the rest of the evening. I'm thinking about just going out running later anyway. I wanted to jump rope during lunch break today, but the supervisor is having a pissy attack, so better not to push it.

Food wise I'm doing good. I had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast and for lunch I had sprouted wheat pasta with baby zucchini. I'm thinking rice and beans for dinner, but I'll have to see what's up with the family.

The scale was back to 208.4 this morning. I so much want to see 205 this week. I'm supposed to go away just me and my wife, this weekend, and that usually means eating more then usual. I'm really going to keep it in check, though. the forecast is rain all weekend, so we might just cancel. I'll have to see.

Three cheers for sprouted wheat!!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

Look, the weight IS going to drop, it's only Tuesday! Patience....and keep your concentration on eating properly--do not use the 208.4 as an excuse to throw in the towel.

Thanks, Ed. I've been keeping up with yours, but haven't posted yet. Been meaning to. Thanks for stopping by.

I got home from work and was starving. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. All natural everything, but still kind of high in fat. I'm going to make sure that I get some workout tonight.

Hey you can't go wrong with all natural PB&J just enjoooooyyy it!

Way to move on down that scale Trops!! You're a beast!

You're a beast!

You must have been looking at my photos again. :biggrinjester:

I was really tired tonight. My wife had something she had to go to, the kids had to be fed and supervised with homework, every reason to skip a workout. I went running but just a short one. 2.7 miles. I wanted to do it twice, but after the first loop and with all the stuff to do and having no energy, I called it quits. I'm glad I did something.

I love the PB&J. I could easily eat three of four of them, but I kept it to one. *pats self on back* Even with all the good food I just had no energy for the run. I'll see what happens tomorrow. I'll have to get some distance in one of these days.

Glad you got that run in, however small--you well know that exercise is going to give you a short lived metabolic spike, so something is always better than nothing!

Go to bed early and see how you feel. Try some light stretching when you wake up *she said sneakily*
