You're doing great Liz. Watch out for that boredom imo, anything that keeps you occupied has got to be an investment in you i think, not just a reward :)

Yay for Rest Days! :D

The headaches could be from sugar and not booze. I always get headaches when I cut way back on sugar or coffee. Any way you can water down the superfood drink? Like just do a 1/4 serving instead of a full? Do you like cabbage? It has a lot of fiber in it. I'm peeing constantly too. I feel like a five year old again :D

I say reward yourself with a game!!! I like to game too. Which ones do you like? I like tycoon games.

Thank you everyone for the feedback and support! I'll respond to you guys tomorrow when I'm back at work. For now, I'm going to relax and enjoy Friday evening!

PS. I just turned down free chicken wings and am instead eating a healthy dinner at home. ALSO... I am totally getting up tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 6:30am to get on the elliptical.

I don't even recognize myself right now!

Good morning, and a very happy Saturday to everyone on here! Let's rock out an awesome day! :hurray:

6:30am - 36 minute elliptical workout. Today, I've got nothing on the agenda after work, other than a brief core workout. We have prime rib planned for dinner. Looks like my cheat meal is going to fall on the weekend - I'm okay with that! My snacks are all low-fat today in preparation. We'll be roasting some garlic heads in lieu of garlic bread.

Challenge(s) of the day:

1. Only eat 4oz of prime rib. Yes, it's a cheat meal, but I can still stay within my allotted calories for the day.
2. No late night snacking. A small after dinner snack is okay (ex. protein shake, hummus, small piece of dark chocolate). It's Saturday night, we both have the day off tomorrow, and we will most likely be staying up later than usual. This'll be the first time that's happening since I began, so it'll be tough to not find myself in the kitchen sometime this evening. My plan of action - I have this really nice tea that I like. It's fruity and kind of seems like a treat when I have it.

I wish you all a super weekend! Don't do anything you'll regret on Monday. ;)

That may be a reaction to the oxalic acid found in most leafy green veg. Lettuce basically tries to kill you.

Do you eat enough fat?
I think you raise a good question there, LaMa. I tend to go all-in, so I have been reducing a lot of foods that I deem sources of fat. That said, I just upgraded MFP to premium for a month (free trial). It now shows me my nutrient goals, and looking back on the past week, most days I was only short 2-6 grams of fat. Lettuce has been switched to spinach now! :D

Thanks, Stan! You make a good point. I think I'll try and balance it out. As much as I'd like to constantly be working on myself, I don't think taking some time to enjoy activities that are cathartic is anything but beneficial.

I do like cabbage. I'll pick some up on the weekly grocery shop tomorrow!
I starting drinking coffee again this morning, too.
Games? Mainly RPG games. Ori and The Blind Forest, Sims. Recently played Beholder and that was entertaining. I can't hold my attention on one game the way my boyfriend does. 399 hours on Fallout 4.
This is a very dark picture, but here's our set up in without the lights on: https://imgur.com/a/9jSoE My favourite part is the RGB keyboard.

:D Sorry, I was being a bit flippant. All leafy green veg has oxalic acid; the darker the leaves the more they contain. Kale, spinach, bok choi, they all try to kill you. Plants don´t like getting eaten any more than animals do, they just can´t scream or kick so they try to poison us instead. "Domesticated" veggies have been bred to contain way fewer toxins than their wild counterparts but in the case of something like oxalic acid there´s quite a bit of variation in how much people can digest so it hasn´t been reduced as much as some of the other chemicals plants use to defend themselves with. And that means that some people can´t have those super-healthy dark leafy greens every day. Or at least not in large amounts.

Don't apologize! I've had a funny GI system my whole life, so I have figured out some of these things through the joys of experimentation. At this point, it's what evil do I want to face today - heartburn or farts?

If it's the latter, then I might as well get more nutrients from what I'm eating!

I have been very slack in your diary I am sorry. Your diet sounds so healthy! I'm not sure now whether all the rumbling in my stomach was from the gastro or the green leafed vegetables trying to kill me. I have been steering clear of protein the last few days. EEK! Is that how you feel as your body gets used to being vegetarian or vegan? I have not been nice to be near
I'm not into gaming at all, but your setup looks amazing!

You have quite the awesome setup for gaming! :coolgleamA: I like Sims too! I first bought it to just design houses, but then loved to play as well. I have been thinking about getting the pets expansion pack!

Super proud of you for weighing out the prime rib. That's dedication, sister.

Don't apologize, Cate! I'm happy if people even were just lurking around here. :) and thanks! I like my cozy computer corner, but it is mostly my partners. He built the PC.

I am definitely not veg/vegan, simply trying to add more vegetables to my diet overall. So far, I'm feeling the way you are. Hopefully, that'll lessen once my body realizes this isn't a temporary thing.

Girls fart? Are you being serious?
Sorry to break it to you, Stan. ;)

Same here. It´s an ongoing project though... And did you end up sticking to your plan?
I did, LaMa! I was actually surprisingly full too. I think all the smaller meals have trained my stomach not to expect a binge anymore. It was delicious. :)

You know, I'm still on Sims 3. I think it's Sims 4 that has pets, and toddlers and look quite different. Jeez, Sims itself has been around since I was 12 ish! I remember playing on my old computer that only has 2Gs of memory.

Thank you! It was perfectly done, and so flavourful. We squeezed roasted garlic on top, and I made a point to chew and savor more than usual.

Also, STILL ENDED UP WITH A CALORIE DEFICIT! Yayyy!

Just want to say you guys are all amazing, and thank you so much for listening to the ramblings of a total stranger. I'd hug you all, if I could.

Alright, it's Sunday. I've decided that I need to move my weekly weigh-in to Tuesday morning. My shifts at work have changed, and while I'll get up to workout tomorrow in the AM, I don't want to have to wake up even earlier to try do a proper log. Tuesday morning I will do a full summary of my first week here and maybe you guys can help me make some tweaks to my routine.

Today... I'm going to go pick up some ephedrine for my afternoon HIIT workouts. I've also got quite a long list of chores to get done, so I'm off the elliptical for the day, but will be mindful to keep my body moving while I'm working on my to-do's. I don't feel strong enough yet to wear my ankle weights or weighted vest yet.

Challenge for the day: Plan out this week's dinners and lunches with extra fiber in them!

Recent Success: I'm getting good at cooking two breakfasts. Basted eggs, sausage and toast for my sweetheart, and poached eggs with hot sauce for me. It isn't even hard to do, I don't feel jealous at all about his plate! Possibly because soft yolks/Frank's is literally the best thing ever.

That's enough for me! Time to rock out another day!

Sweet :)
:grouphug:
Why are you getting ephedrine Liz? Isn't it a stimulant? I'm probably being a worrier, but it sounds risky when combined with HIIT.
Hope you had a lovely Sunday!

I appreciate your concern, Cate. Ephedrine, taken in the small dose I am taking, gives me a metabolism boost and helps me power out better workouts. I am doing some strength training, along with cardio 4-5 times a week so I'm looking for the benefit of not losing muscle mass from the cardio sessions. Just to keep your worries at bay, I have had great success with it in the past and more importantly went to my doctor before commencing all these changes and she's given me the okay.

Speaking of that - I had both an ECG and EKG several months ago, before I quit my old job and was suffering from serious anxiety. At that time, I swear I had a bad heart, but thankfully my heart is in great condition and my blood pressure is pretty in check too. All things considered, that was a surprise to me - obviously a very welcome one!

Anyway, just got back from Costco and shopping was a success! https://imgur.com/a/pljlv
I steered clear of the samples, and didn't buy all the extra treats I normally would have. I was pretty proud of my cart when I got to the till.

Off to go try and bathe my cat now!

Going to bed early so I can kick some ass on Week Two!

Random thought of the day: freshly shaven legs and new flannel sheets is a match made in heaven. Pure bliss.

It certainly helps that we had a clean dinner of baked tilapia and green beans, so I'm not going to bed feeling bloated.

Happy Monday folks! :)
