training with a partner

I was thinking about training with a partner because I think that would help with the "Push factor" I was wondering what the pros and cons are of training with a partner. Also is it better for each person to complete the whole work out or would it be better to switch after sets :confused:
 
Pros:
motivation, spotter, someone to help load/unload bar

Cons:
too much talking, can throw off rest intervals between sets, having to change loads too much for both of you

Definately switch after each set.
 
Yes...switch after each set....I workout with a partner and can't see myself ever workingout alone again...the motivation factor helps me tremendously (especially when he punches me cause I didnt finish the set :( ) lol and you have a spotter so you can push yourself farther...It's also someone to compete against and gain knowledge from...I would say go for it if you can... get someone who is as dedicated as you are, and is there to workout not talk...(hope this helps)
