Training Log - Inspired by Evo

Cyborg just called me. I am sensing that tonights workout will be ultra hardcore.:eek::SaiyanSmilie_anim::SaiyanSmilie_anim::pain7::pain7:

I'm gonna clone goergen and abduct him to my gym.
Together we will rule the squat rack curlers and the cardio bunnies!

Trilogy of Terror - Meeting 1

Yea, training partners and cloning are awesome.:cool:

This was the first official meeting of the Trilogy of Terror!!! That is, The Cybernetic Cannon, Cyborg, and I. I have to say that things are going to hit a new level training together. (I will refer to the Trilogy of Terror as T&T for the rest of this post)

1. We started warming up chucking the football and running around like friggin' goof-balls.

2. Then we took to hiking a 9lb bed ball for distance, trying to hit a red punching bag. (That friggin' red haired kid) "The Cybernetic Cannon" proved that his nickname was deserved, hiking that med ball over 50 feet..

3. On to some dynamic flex. A little of ROM stuff to get more prepared.

4. Then we did Turkish Get Ups with and 80lb punching bag. The goal was to get up from a lying position on the ground, with the bag on top of us, without using hands, arms, or any upper body. (upper body also had to hold the dang heavy bag)

We took turns doing this for a while, trying to get up to the left and right, getting right to the feet, and even doing it with only one leg. (which I did not get done ) Then we noticed that these were really getting the abs and we were breathing pretty hard. So it must be time to start lifting.

5. Squat - because how could we inaugurate this T&T with any other exercise?? I worked up to a 555 lb squat. Which is 55lbs up from last week. Which is good. Richard worked in with us here. He did a 465 for a double. That was pretty serous. He is 57 years old.

6. Glute / Ham Swinggy Thing - I do not know the real name for this piece of equipment. It is awesome though. It really kelps to focus on training hip extension. It also gets glutes and hamstrings like crazy. 3 sets 10 reps each leg.
super-set
7. Fat Bar Pull-Ups - 3 sets. I did 5 reps the first set, then did 2 more for 5 reps + whatever reps standing on a band.

8. Neck Attack - Ouch, my neck needs to get a lot stronger. 3 sets. Head facing forward, left, and right. 5 reps of each
super-set
9. Kettle Bell Flippy Clean and Press Deal - I think that is the technical term. 3 sets 10 reps. 35lbs each hand.

After that I did some band assisted stretching and that was the end of the day.

PWO - The Usual

This was another great day. Once again there is nothing better than having good people around all the time.

Gym Conversation -

1. I threw a perfect spiral, but the ball was sideways, you know, cuz I'm that good. :D

2. I don't remember a lot of conversation from the workout. Probably because everyone was just gettin' after it, and when that happens, simple talk can only lower the level of HardKoreness. (with a K, because a C is too wussy in this context)

For a big, tough guy you're one hell of a geek :D

bwahahahaha. I'm trying to figure out who of them is you Goergen.. Either the dude in the kitchen/tavern getting drunk asking if there are any girls, or the moron who wants to cast a spell at the dark :D

Long time player of rpg's here, especially on PC. Currently in World of Warcraft, where they have Brewfest! (think Octoberfest) with associated quests.

I did not know where to post this, so I will put it here. This is very interesting and shows how seriously Olympic teams researched drug use. It is a major reason that many Olympic records have stood for a very long time.

Decide for yourself

The real truth about drugs. Do the math. The man that ran this program confirmed this info. This is the smoking gun of the system and what they expected the drugs to do.

Hormonal doping and androgenization of athletes: a secret program of the German Democratic Republic government

In a summary report to the Stasi on March 3, 1977, SMD Deputy Director Höppner (Vol. II of his Stasi reports under the code name "Technik," pp. 243–44), described the GDR results and concluded:

At present anabolic steroids are applied in all Olympic sporting events, with the exception of sailing and gymnastics (female)2 , ... and by all national teams. The application takes place according to approved basic plans, in which special situations of individual athletes are also considered. The positive value of anabolic steroids for the development of a top performance is undoubted.

Here are a few examples... Performances could be improved with the support of these drugs within four years as follows: Shot-put (men) 2.5–4 m; Shot-put (women) 4.5–5 m; Discus throw (men) 10–12 m; Discus throw (women) 11–20 m; Hammer throw 6–10 m; Javelin throw (women) 8–15 m; 400 m (women) 4–5 sec; 800 m (women) 5–10 sec; 1500 m (women) 7–10 sec...

Remarkable rates of increase in performances were also noted in the swimming events of women... . From our experiences made so far it can be concluded that women have the greatest advantage from treatments with anabolic hormones with respect to their performance in sports... . Especially high is the performance-supporting effect following the first administration of anabolic hormones, especially with junior athletes.

Figure 1. Effects of an androgenic-anabolic steroid, Oral-Turinabol, on the shot-put performance (in meters, y-axis) of a female athlete (code identification 1/68 in a, 1/69 in b, and 1/72 in c) directly photographed from the secret scientific report of Bauersfeld et al. (13), as one of the numerous examples documented, chosen here because of its historic importance as the first documented case of androgenic doping of a woman (for a detailed account, see ref. (11)). (a) 1968. The rectangle from July 28 to October 13 shows the period of drug administration, and the numbers above each date show the number of tablets taken per week (here, 14, or 10 mg per day). The curve presents the results of the specific competitions, showing the increase of strength and performance in a fully trained woman.

At the time of the first drug application in 1968, the athlete had been well trained for almost 14 years. Under the influence of the drug, however, she gained unprecedented muscle strength and improved her records dramatically within a few weeks. (b) 1969. The steroid was given in three cycles and at various dosages, from 7 to 21 tablets per week (i.e., 5–15 mg daily). Without the drug, she could not reach 18 m but when taking the drug, she improved her world record once more, to 20.10 m. (c) 1972.

She took even more of the androgenic hormone, with daily dosages of up to 7 tablets per day (35 mg), in four cycles, for a total androgenic load of 1450 mg for the year. This led to her top performances in the winter indoor season (left curve) as well as in the summer (right curve) and another personal best (20.22 m). Note the much lower performance at times off the drug or after only short periods of androgenization.

Also, after 4 years of systematic androgenization, her basic strength level even when not taking the drug had also increased by ~1 m, indicative of a residual effect.

I am certainly no expert on the olympic uses of anabolic steroids, but I do find it interesting that the East Germany team "won" 37 golds, 35 silvers, and 30 bronze medals at the 1988 Seoul? olympics, the last olympics before East and West Germany were reunited. In 2004, the united Germany team won only 14, 16, and 18 gold, silver and bronze medals.

How could 1/2 of Germany in 1988 have won twice as many medals as the unified team?

I think it's obvious that anabolic steroid use was rampant in those eastern bloc countries, at least in some sports.

You know, so all the cool people here can see what a workout looks like. :):):D:D:cool::cool:

I think it's obvious that anabolic steroid use was rampant in those eastern bloc countries, at least in some sports.

Since drug testing started, over 200 US athletes have tested positive, gone on to compete in the Olympics, and brought home 88 gold medals. So it is not just eastern block countries.

I just thought the extent of the research and observation was interesting.

You're wearing belts, that's CHEATING!!! :p

It REALLY looked like you were claping his ass when you were spotting him :D

I must say, those are some impressive numbers!

Yea well. This is how the game actually works.

:yelrotflmao:

Ive never played the game but that was freaking hilarious.
