Tracking progress - How often ?

I currently tracking my progress via a spreasheet containing details of my weight and measurements.

To try to maintain consistancy I weigh myself each Monday at the gym at approx the same time, same clothes etc. I measure myself every 4th Monday, again same time.

Does this seem like reasonable sample periods to everyone ?

I ask as whilst I am making progress currently averaging .8lbs weight gain per week with all measurements increasing with the exeption of my waist (so hopefully minimal fat gain), I have reached a point after 4 months of training where I don't really feel bigger despite the fact I am lifting much more and what the scales & tape says. I spose I'm suffering from a lull in enthusiasm and was wondering if checking my progress too often was part of the cause.

Maybe I'm being too impatient as at the current rate I'll gain 40lbs in a year :)

As long as that weight gain is muscle, you're doing awesome and I wouldn't change a thing. As a quick plug though, you may want to check out my tracking site listed below. It was made for you.

I think it might depend on what you want. If you're making a lifestyle change, it doesn't matter. If you want to lose weight and gain muscle and need encouragement, that's something else...
