So to start with let's recap the last year. As of September 2007 I weighed 290lbs. Weight has always been a struggle and layoff related depression cause a gain of 30 lbs in 30 days. Influenced by a coworkers comment that I "looked weak" I decided to try and lose weight but more importantly build muscle. I wore a 2 xl shirt and a 42 pant.

I began to diet. Ate clean, monitored my calories and occasionally exercised. In December I joined a gym and began attending regularly. By May I was down to 256lbs. I had been low carbing and was laid off again. I went off low carb and gained the expected ten pounds of water back. I spent the summer bulking muscle and now weigh 268 xlt shirt 38 pant.

I am now beginning a big weight cut. My initial goal is 220. We'll see where it goes from there. I want to be there by December.

Today I lifted weights for 30 minutes, walked for 45 minutes and ate 2600 calories.

I feel good about things and can't wait to lose weight!

I'm glad to be here. Hope I can have some input for others. I put up a pic of a sweater as my avatar because I'm going to wear a skinny sweater to Christmas. I hope y'all can help me get there and I can help you as well.
 
Today has been somewhat of a struggle. I wasn't prepared to work late or be without a car. Ate a McRib for lunch 450 cals! Ate a Snickers after work riding around with boss. Ate a piece of brother in laws birthday cake. That means it's not 6:00 and I've got 200 cals left for the day. It's going to be a long night!

On the plus side of things I weighed 264.7 this morning. I am going to try and only weigh on monday mornings.

I told my boss I would be in a 16 1/2 shirt in three weeks. Let's see if I can do it!
 
Had a good day today. Ate pretty clean and walked for an hour. I need to remember to prepare snacks for work. I'm starving right now. I don't know if it's hunger or boredom. Four good days in a row. let's keep this train rolling.
 
Hey, I just popped in and read your beginning posts...you seem to be off to a good start and I look forward to reading about further successes as you lose more!! Congratulations and good luck!!
 
Great day today! I ate a little more calorie wise but am still under maintenance. I lifted for 30 minutes and walked for an hour. I couldn't help myself and weighed in at the gym. I weighed four pounds less than I did last time!

I am going to wait until next week's official weigh in to change my ticker.

I'm off to bed to see if Mrs. Tower wants to help me burn a few more calories.
 
Good day yesterday. Ate 500 below maintenance. Weighed 260 in the am. Skipped the gym after 5 days in a row. Going to get back tonight.
 
Good day today. I ate well should be at 2500 cals unless I give in and eat a roll at Logans. Worked out earlier. Lifted then walked for 30 because I had to get back home and get ready to go out. I'm the DD tonight so we should have a good time.
 
Fell off the wagon yesterday. watched football drankbeer and ate all day long. I'm hungover and feel like shit. I'm going to get back on track today.
