Torn tendon?

I was recently told that I either have a severe case of tendinidous or I tore a tendon in my foot. I've been given orders to stay off my foot for 4-6 weeks.. I'm going crazy I asked if I could bike or swim, but I'm not supposed to put pressure on my foot so I can't bike and I am not supposed to point my toes so swimming is out of the picture. I'm also supposed to not walk whenever possible. I was training for my first half marathon which doesn't look like I will be able to participate in. Is their any cardio that I can do? I don't do well sitting and I'm going nuts.

Sex springs to mind, explain the issue to your girlfriend and I'm sure she'd be OK with a few hours of cardio everyday while you're injured. If she isn't up to it then ask if she has a friend who might be prepared to share the burden.

Other than that I can't think of anything to suggest. I know what a pain it is though, my girlfriend broke her foot last year and for such a small bone it caused a hell of a lot of trouble as she could barely move anywhere.

Rest is key though, I have a constantly weak hamstring because I didn't follow advice when I tore it as a teenager 10 years ago. If your tendon has torn then follow your doctors advice to the letter even if it does mean giving up the half marathon and sitting down and watching Quincy re-runs for 6 weeks
