Too much pain, something wrong?

For the first time i decided to go to the gym with my friend, and im a really
skinny and weak person. So at the gym i decided to work on this part which my friend calls guns, and i went on a machine where i put my elbow on a mat a pull the machine making 90 degree than 180 degree with my arms so i did 3 sets of 10 rep of 30 pounds, after that i couldn't do anymore so i stopped and became sore the next day, then the day after i felt so much pain, i can't move my forearm.... i feel no pain having my arms staying 90 degree but if i change from that its so much pain and once i tried to move it all the way down but it wouldn't its like i sprained it or broke it. I told my dad if i can go to the doctor but he said that its cause i did 3 reps of something i couldn't do. Its the third day and still no improvements on the pain. What is happening?

Sorry for the long entry

Yes, you overdid it on bicep curls. do very light stretching throughout the day, and avoid leaving your arms bent at 90 degrees for long periods until you heal up...probably another day or two.

Your diet probably sucks and that's why you're not recovering as quickly as you could have...even though 3 sets for a newbie would still result in some serious aches and soreness for a couple days.

+1 with Malkore. When you haven't worked out before, you will get EXTREMELY sore by pushing yourself to hard. It will be like that for the first couple of weeks. Good luck though...stretch, drink lots of water, and eat right to help recover faster

This is why newbies should go to the gym with someone who knows what they are doing, not a well meaning but ignorant buddy! It could take up to 10 days to recover.

I remember years ago I rebuilt a stone wall and spent all day (16+ hours) moving large rocks (50-200 pounders). Even though I work out regularly, the next day I had sharp pains in one forearm. I swore I must have a broken bone or something, but the doctor said it was just an overuse injury and would go away in 7-10 days. Sure enough on the 10th day it was gone (and it was just as painful every day until then)!

I remember when I first benched. My Chest was sore for at least a week.

Pillah- It would be a good idea so have a high protein meal after you workout. Something that will digest fast like Eggs, Whey Protein, or correct me if I'm wrong Yogurt.
