Toning up how many days a week should I do it

Hi I have just joined a gym, and wanted to lose a few kgs and also tone up my body.
How many days a week should I go to the gym, as I have heard that to much is no good for you, is this true ?

Also I would like to get rid of my belly, and man boobs, and put a bit of shape into my upper back, what machines should I use?

It sounds like you should be more focused on your diet than weight lifting. Get your diet in check, and then look around for a workout routine.

First diet. Then you wanna make sure to give yourself proper amounts of rest. When weight training do not work the same muscles two days in a row. Depending on how many days you have, you could do something like:

D1-cardio
2-weight
3-rest
4-cardio
5-weight
6-cardio
7-rest

This is dependent upon your goals and is just an example.
