I go on and off this site a lot, but I am ready to stay on it to help me support my weight loss.

November 1st, 2006 --

So I went to the Doctors on Monday, and he congratulated me on losing 21.5 pounds, but said I need to lose more and got on my back about it. I know I have to get down to where I'm supposed to be, which I thought was around 160 but he surprised me and said my weight should be around 200-210. So my new goal is 210 which means I only have 75 pounds to lose. I'm going on a 3 week strike starting tomorow ( Thursday ) which means no drinks but water, and no food besides HEALTHY cereal, salads and tuna fish + wheat crackers + no meat. I'm going to see how far I can get with this and see if I can pull a biggest loser! Wish me good luck guys.

Great job so far - I get to go have that appointment with my doctor tomorrow, down 30lb. :D:D

As for your plan.. Wow - Good Luck but I gotta say, that doesn't sound like a very healthy approach.. please be careful!!!

Well, you at least have a positive outlook. Just remember, there is a huge variety of healthy choice foods out there and there is no reason deny yourself that diversity of food. Diets get boring and you tend to fail if you try and limit it too much. But lots of water and plenty of veggies is always a good idea. Are you going to be calorie counting?

No calorie counting, but I hate Vegetables on a daily count. As for Salad & Tuna Fish & Koshi Cereal....I would choose to live off those 3 over Pizza or Hamburgers....because those 3 things..I love them MMMMMMM. Im sorry but people who say Tuna and Koshi are gross..they need help LOL!

Great Job!!!!! I hope your doctor praises you because 30 pounds is great!!

I hate both & love my veggies to death... I need help *hangs head*...lol ;)

Maybe you should take a multi vitamin, just to help round out the stuff you're not getting?

As for my doctor... I'm hoping to give him a nice corinary..lol

So I've been quite down today, and I totally ate a lot...it wasn't bad stuff ( besides a few peices of halloween candy ) but I ate a lot of Applesauce, Tuna, Fat-Free Jellow, and Beef Stew today with a total of 4 peices of rye bread, with 2 bowls of cereal. That's all I ate today, but it was a lot...it seems like I was just eating because I was depressed about being sick and not being able to sing..I don't know.

But I am on track again tonight and am wanting to work out bad, but I can't for the simple fact I'll make myself sicker. By tomorow I will be on though. I think my hardest part trying to lose weight during school, is the stuff they eat at school. Like the school food, some of it is SOOOOOOOO good and addicting, but I guess I'm going to have to grab the bull by it's horns and say NO! to that good food. I was watching a few programs last night, and one was The Half Ton Man ( He weighed 1,072 pounds, and within 2 years lost over 600 pounds! ) Some guy who weighed 870 somethin and died within a week of his weight loss because his heart couldn't handle it.

I don't know I guess I'm trying to get myself back into the spirit of weight loss, because I really need this weight off by February, and if I don't I am going to be really down. I'm going to New York in May of 2007 because my Choir has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall ( amazing..right? ) and i'm so excited, but for the first time in my life I want to be able to take my shirt off in that pool and be damn proud at what I could be showing!

Anyways I'm gonna go rest a bit and not eat anymore ( lol )!

You are off to a great start Tommy! Don't let one bad day get you down. Have you looked at sites like sparkpeople and fitday? They can help you meal plan, count calories and gives you tips and advice right where you need it. I don't think I'd have been this successful thus far without the proper tools. Keep your chin up, March is still a ways away and having already lost 20+ pounds you've shown yourself that you have what it takes to make changes for the better.

No I haven't. Is it Sparkpeople.com and fitday.com ?? Because I could actually use real help with some meal plans.

Yep! I hope you found them because they are great sites and I can literally waste hours on sparkpeople.

Before I discovered sparkpeople (thank you maleificent!) I was clueless. Thats how great this tool is. It brings you out of the dark and into enlightenment about what your body is doing and how you can make weightloss work.

Exactly!! I had no clue how clueless I really was... lol

Hi Tommy!!

Sounds like what you are eating is healthy, so don't be hard on yourself and beat yourself up!! Yeah, check out those websites and work out how many calories your taking in, I'll bet it's surprisingly low! And You know your metabolism actually slows down when your cal intake is really low.

Good luck!!! :)

Well, Looking back on my two diary posts. It's febuary and I am at my highest fat-point. I'm SO down, but today I started my actual diet since my leg is all better ( Look Off-Topic if you don't know about my leg ) and I bought a new bike. I bought Healthy-Choice + Nutrisystem dinners, so I will be eating those for dinner from now on. I buy a salad everyday for lunch now at school and for breakfast a nutri-grain bar and glass of Orange Juice. I try nothing inbetween. But yeah I'm really excited to get on my bike tomorow and do more riding around. I really love it, but I'm more excited to get my weight off. I just bought 4 pairs of Jeans in december..and none fit me now..so discouraging. But I'm going to be thin within a couple of months! Any support will be greatly appreciated. ~~ Tommy

I can relate

Because I could actually use real help with some meal plans.

Hi Tommy; I need help with my meal plans too. What I did a year ago is I went on eDiets.com and paid something like twenty bucks a month for a mealplan, fitness plan, and support forum similar to this one. The mealplan includes what you eat for brekky, lunch and supper, and snacks, recipes for the meals, and weekly grocery lists for the meals. All the recipes are quite easy and if you don't like a certain meal, the computer lets you change it for a variety of others. If you want to have the same lunch everyday, it lets you do that too. I needed that to train myself what proper calorie intake was.

I know what it's like to say "if I cut out the junk, and eat very little, I"ll be alright". But that's usually a trap because none of us can eat very little, for very long. We always crash and burn that way. It's weird, but you almost have to eat a LOT to lose weight. But actually, it's eating a lot of healthy stuff and just smaller portion. I found I had to train myself to always be prepared. Preparation and planning for the week is everything. So I found eDiets got me into that habit. And now I can plan meals without eDiets.

(You can just pay for the mealplan on eDiets, you don't have to get the fitness plan or join a forum.)

Anyways, maybe someone on here has already mentioned it, or there's another mealplan you found. But remember, it takes us a while to learn how to meal plan properly and you are SO not alone in that.

Good luck with your goals and I feel sure you'll lose the 75!
