I had a really, really great day.
Really.. The amount of really good stuff that happened today, in this one day, was crazy insane. Life never really gets better than days like today. I guess I got lucky, but it was still a really, really great, great day!
First.. I took my mom and brother to the airport.... nothing exciting about this, but it's always nice to see your family. Then.... I picked up my friend Joe at his house, hung out at my house for a while, talked about guy stuff... looked at PCs and guitars online, and picked out a PC barebones kit for myself. (they send you everything you need to build a computer, and you slap it together yourself, much cheaper this way, usually)
Then I went to Arby's on the way out to the marketplace, and I really like Arby's food! I stayed within my calorie intake too!
Then.... I went to Hartville, OH (only about 20 mins away) to sell some silver junk I have lying about. Silver is at a new all time high, 35$ per oz... so I decided to take advantage of this, to pay some bills...... While I was at the coin shop, Then I noticed that they walking canes available... well. LO AND BEHOLD! I had actually recently been thinking about getting a good walking stick.. and there it was, in the coin shop of all places, strange huh? (although they do sell high end collectibles like watches, jewlery, even some pricey war stuff). I think it's made from Hickory, which is good, strong wood. The guy in the shop told me it was Amish made, but I'm skeptical about that. Everything in certain parts of Ohio is supposed to be Amish made.. yeah, right.. LOL... my favorite is when a company markets their items as "MADE IN AMISH COUNTRY" roflmao.... made in Amish country.. by who? The Amish?. no their neighbors who are allowed to use electric machinery.
A STRONG word of caution, if anyone ever attempts to sell you an "Amish" made piece of furniture or other pricey item... I've seen so many fakes, it's sad. Do you homework, verify that the company is legit, etc. etc.
....
Okay.... Then.. I continued shopping in the adjacent building which is sort of 1/2 mall 1/2 flea market, and 1/2 farmer's market. And I found my true love, Cheese curds... Every time I visit this place I buy cheese curds here. They are really awesome! very tasty chunks of fresh cheese! I'm so glad they had them today.. I was really happy.
Then I also bought a couple of DVDs.... Mystery Men, which I love.... but I haven't been able to watch since it was on VHS, and my player broke! and here it was for TWO DOLLARS!!!! whooppeee!!!! I also bought a two disc set of THX for 4 dollars, I think it's sort of a collector's edition, it has the director's cut, commentary, etc. etc. on it. for FOUR DOLLARS! I'm not as excited to watch this as mystery men, but I am more excited about owning it, as it's pretty rare to find. (if that makes any sense.)
So.. I walked around this market for an hour just shopping and looking, and I spent a total of $16 cash!!!! Yay!!! I stayed with in my budget of $26, some times I get carried away, but not today! That's just another reason today was so awesome!
Then on the way home I stopped by a drug store, because I wanted some soda. Well, their soda was all so freaking expensive, but then I saw there was a 2 for 1 sale on 2liter bottles of 7up and diet seven for $1.69 for two, so I got 2 2L of diet seven up, and it was really tasty too! I haven't had it in so long, but it's so refreshing.... I needed it after walking around the market for so long, I was perspiring a bit from all the walking.
(The $25 for the hiking stick doesn't count since it came out the money from the silver sale
)
Okay.. Then... I got to spend time with my GF..... she was just out running a few errands, but we had some excellent conversation.
Then.. I came home I watched the latest episode of Bob's Burgers which I love, as well as the newest weekly cartoons, Simpson, Family Guy....
..... and THEN walked my dog. It was a 45 min. walk. My dog still acts like a big puppy, but today, during our walk his behavior was unusually good. Another notch for good stuff that happened today.
....
Finally tally:
I walked 1hr + 45 mins. I ate with in my daily caloric intake. I found and bought stuff that I really love, VERY CHEAPLY. I stayed well with in my budget. I drank tasty, refreshing soda! I paid a few bills, and now I don't have to worry about it for a month. I spent time with a few very good friends, saw my family, watch some of the best cartoons ever AND FREAKING ORDER A NEW PC KIT!!!!
tell me, does it really ever get better than this?
And last of all...
I have to thank the Lord for this great day.... don't mean to get religious, and I really hate when people get preachy, but He did me right today!.
