Tob's walkabout

Nice to have you back! I understand the draw of the computer. Although I am at an age when I am usually yelling at my kids to get off it-lol.

Hey Tob, welcome back!

I don't think anyone will be offended if you spend less time here... being out and about means that you're being active and not sitting at the comp... that's a GOOD thing for weight loss :)

Haha, well I have lots of things i do on the computer so i tend to get lost on there and get nothing done.

Yeah, lots of info on here but if you don't get off and do it its pointless haha.

Good to hear your getting out. Just let us know once in a while how your doing.

I will I'm sorry hah.

Hi i'm fairly new here and just catching up with all the regulars as they turn up on the front page. I've not read the whole lot but a page at the beginning and page at the end.

I feel the need to lecture you about your knees and running. I can't find any other way to warn you enough.

I've picked up on your knee pain. I think there should spread a rule amongst dieters not to start running until you a) get down close to your healthy weight range and then don't do too much til you get inside your healthy weight range and b) you've done some knee strengthening exercises.

Man, if you don't wait on this and you keep running, you will have to get knee replacements before 65 and they don't like doing that because they don't last indefinitely so it means you'd need it twice. So however you look at it, it ends up being a lot more pain.

Knees are delicate things. Ankles too i guess but i know less about them. People around here don't seem to be very conscious of this need for caution regarding knees. Walking will put enough strain on your knees when you are very overweight but running is plain dangerous.

Be patient with your weight loss and you will get there. Be impatient and you won't.

I ran 2.5mi in 0:33:17 (13:13 min/mi) using @runstar #runstar

glad to see that you are doing better, and are posting again :) finding a running partner must be awesome. i have always wanted to find a running group or something. it gets so lonely sometimes lol but then again, running and chatting isn't the easiest. lol
