I bought the stuff yesterday to make these red beet eggs you keep mentioning. I love eggs, I love pickled stuff, I love beets - sounds like my kind of food!

I'm impressed with you running outside! I could never do that in the cold. I've had too many lung issues in the past and I think it would kill me. I'll stick to my nice warm air inside on the treadmill, thankyouverymuch!
 
Yeah, its very painful i will be honest, i had to take a knee going up the one hill. my right lung felt like it was going to pop and I swear i tasted blood lol.

The dedication though, good job!!! and i am SURE that it will make your endurance that much better once the temperature starts improving (hopefully soon). are you thinking of doing any organized races/runs, like fundraisers, that sort of thing? :)

I admire you for being able to run in the cold. You definitely have dedication. I have anxiety problems and sometimes if it's too cold even walking outside and breathing that cold air consistently can cause a panic attack for me cause it feels like I can't get any air so I NEED to run inside on a treadmill or in warmer weather.
 
that sucks about your weight gain, buddy but its only a small gain :) Hopefully this damn ice / snow will go away so we can hit it full force next week.

Hi Tob,

If you run in the cold- you will get used to it. I run in the cold all the time. Last week it was -25 C which is -13 F and that didn't include the windchill. Welcome to Canada-lol. I just make sure I dress in layers. I actually like running in the cold better than when it is hot out. If it is too cold you can dress warmer but if it is too hot there is only so many clothes you can remove before you get arrested-lol. Keep up the good work- looks like you are on the right path.

Nope, no runs or fundraisers. not yet. I have lots of hiking planned though.

Thanks, I Learned last year that the longer i walked outside the less it bothered me. That sucks for you though. atleast you are going on the treadmill!

Haha I know I am down again, today i was 196. This weekend will be warmer i hope... spring is just around the corner... Welcome back!

I know, it just takes time. Damn thats some cold ass weather you are in... -13*? thats crazy! i love walking in the cold thats for sure!

Breakfast: banana and peanut butter
Snack: granola bar
Lunch: large Mediterranean grilled chicken salad
Snack: 1 piece of smoked deer sausage
Dinner: small Piece of ham, 7 perogies & Brussel sprouts.

walked 2.1 miles

Felt awesome today but so ungodly hungry! so i treated my self to some food today. I don't feel regretful either.

I need to take a rest day from working out, my legs are aching and so is my upper body.
im thinking tomorrow is going to be a rest day.
 
I googled and found a few recipies for red beet eggs, but if you have a really good one that's tried and true, I'd love to have it!

Breakfast: half a sausage patty and a scoop of fried potatoes.
Snack: special K bar
Lunch: 2 pieces of pizza and some gold fish crackers
Snack: none

Okay, Time to kick it into high gear this week. This weekend i cheated a little with my food plan. ate some Pizza and some perogies ( YUM )! Tuesday I have a birthday party at night for my little cousin. I know i will be lucky to find a vegetable there. I may have to fill up prior to going and just try hard to hold out.
Wednesday I am supposed to take my Wife out for Valentines day. I have been doing good going out to eat. I have been getting salads but man I am so sick of Salad. I really don't know what to order out anymore.
Friday I get together with my Friends for Game night And I know we will be going out to eat.... haha

I was 196 This morning. No surprise considering I over ate yesterday.

But regardless i am going to try and break 195 this week.
it should be warm today maybe 50* they are saying... we will see.

Sounds like you're making great progress!

For the cousin's birthday party, why don't you take a veggie & dip plate or something like that over to the party? That way you can eat, but you're eating healthy and maybe encouraging others to as well.

As for going out for dinner, something that some of my clients will do is to ask for half of their meal to be put in a 'to go' package before the meal even comes out to the table. That way if you're ordering something that's maybe not 100% healthy, at least you're controlling your portions for that meal. Just a suggestion!

What a great Idea! Both of them. I will be picking up some veggies tomarrow before we go... a platter i mean.

Thanks Tik! I'm actually getting ready to go for a walk/run now. its windy as hell but its 53* so im pumped. haha.
 
I cheated a little too, I thought since my weight was going up and down anyways. I may as well have a piece of chocolate. I ate 1/2 bar and my son ate the other 1/2. My weight is starting to go back down today, lol. Tob it is 47 degrees here, but the wind is blowing hard. I may fix supper earlier and then take my walk. I will be having tilapia today, lol. Trying to work fish into my diet. Have you tried the bean salad it is good?

I hope your walk/run goes well. The weather is warming up here too, but yesterday the wind was INSANE!!! Gusts over 50 mph. I was out with my 4 year old twins and I had to hang onto them because the wind kept pushing them around. And with trying to walk around in the slushy muck while fighting to stay upright with that wind I feel like I pulled something in my knee. Was pretty sore last night, but feels better today.

Have a happy V day with your wife! And good luck with staying at 195 or less - great job!
