To my body, with love.

Nice running, nice weightloss, and cute puppy! He looks like he has a hard life like my two little mutts.

Cute doggie Carrie & lucky too. A walk along the beach with your dogs sounds like a lovely form of exercise xoC

Well, it's not long at all. I do 12 lifts/presses/curls of these four movements, then repeat:
bicep curls
tricep extensions
upright row
and overhead press.

This is quite a good starting point!

I weighed in at the gym this morning, for the first time since last Friday. I'm down 2lbs, from 168 to 166lbs, and my BMI has reduced from 25.9 to 25.5. I feel good about this progress.

Exercise today:
Hour dog walk.
20 minute sprint intervals at gym.
10 minute cycle (4km)
Ab routine.
Arms routine.
Walk to and from the gym (approx 20 minutes)

Food so far:
Dark chocolate
1 coffee with soya milk
Protein shake
1 crumpet / 1 rice cake with pnb
Home made protein bar.

Thanks Carrie! Very helpful for a noob like me. Will do that today.

Hey Carrie, just had to catch up on your diary! I love seeing runners on here, I've done a few half marathons myself. I didn't see anywhere, but how tall are you if you don't mind me asking? You look super fit in that pic of you at 170 so it got me curious.

It is great to see other runners :) I'm 5ft 7.7".

Hi all.
Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend.

I've been to the gym with my boo today for a quick, sweaty work out... I needed to work off some of the cocktails and Indian food from last night. Alas, the damage is done. It's fine though, moderation is key and I've been pretty kind to my body this week.

Food so far today:
Coffee
Half a chocolate croissant, half an almond croissant. :Angel_anim:
2 boiled eggs // 2 slice of toast with Marmite.
Protein oats + honey + peanut butter.

I go out to eat multiple times a week and am still losing fine! Just gotta work the rest of your eating around it! Good job getting to the gym!

Yesterday I ate an ice cream & a lot of cheese (I <3 dairy) and today I feel kind of guilty about my weekend of feasting. Nevermind. What's done is done.
I'm about to head out to the gym.

You can't deprive yourself forever, so figuring out a way to work treats in is key. Just stay active, and make sure you're only treating yourself with food that you truly enjoy.

I agree with Oaks. As long as you can work it off in the long haul, nothing to feel guilty about. Don't get down on yourself, incorporate it in at times and use it as fuel for the week. That first goal is in reach after all! Keep it up, almost there.

Hi all. Thank you for your supportive comments. You are right to suggest incorporating so-called 'bad' food into my diet, because it's highly unlikely that i'd be able to restrict that food for long. It helps to avoid binge eating. I can't remember the last time I had a proper binge.

Today I felt like eating a ton of crackers and cashew nut butter, but instead i ate one cracker and CNB & drank a protein shake.

Food has been okay.
Today I had half a current bun with butter, two digestive biscuits, a salad with apple, cheese & walnuts (basically a Waldorf salad mmmm) & then my cracker etc. Oh and a handful of cereal. And some dark chocolate. Quite a lot of food then. Just as well I'm working out tomorrow before work.

Haven't been to the gym today, but have walked at the beach with my dogs. My right achilles has been twinging a little so i thought it best to have a rest day from running.

The good news is:

March miles: 63.6
April miles: 65.6

so that shows I'm pushing myself a little more this month.

I never thought I'd run 65 anything, let alone 63 miles.

At the moment, a lot of my attention is focused on this book:

I'm off to go and read it. Bye for now.
