WOW!!! Thank you all for such lovely comments!! *twirls* I feel so great!! :) You guys really know how to make a lady feel good!

And you'll all be happy to know that I wore my tank top today at the gym and rocked it out! I also got lots of complements that I was lookin' good!! *hair flip* I felt fabulous and not fLabulous!! :) :)

I've been super busy since sat working on my school projects! two papers down, .5 to go!! *happy dance*! I'll be so happy to get this over- but then this weekend comes a whole other slew of papers, presentations, and readings!! will it ever be over!? :smilielol5:

Yesterday I rested, as I could barely walk!! But I did for for a nice little stroll to my friends house! A bunch of us got together and made sushi- SOOO GOOD! Tuna rolls, salmon rolls, California rolls, Alaskan rolls, dragon rolls...there was SOOO much! And it was all delicious!! :)

Considering the workload I have, and some minor school house drama with a society I'm on - I'm feeling mighty relaxed!!! :)

Oh! So I know I had mentioned that I wanted to do a 5km race the end of may...well, I'm going to do it for sure!! AND my goal will be to RUN the entire thing- no walking!! This means that I gotta get my butt in gear ASAP!! I keep putting off my running to do more "enjoyable" cardio- but I gotta kick my self and start the running!!! I CAN DO IT!!!! :)

Does anyone know if there's a thread on here for people practicing to run a 5k?! Is anyone else planning to do this!?! We should create a club- and give each other motivation! And then post our race pictures!! Nothing like sweaty tired pictures of ourselves on the internet, right?! :smilielol5:

Well, I have so many lovely journals to check up on! I can't wait to hear all about your weekends :) :)

Sounds like you're doing pretty well :) Good luck with the last bit of papers and the whole new slew of work - you can do iiiiiiit :D

And May sounds like a pretty good goal to gear up for that 5k. That's around the same time as my Vegas trip so I'll be working away with you! (although totally different end goals haha)

Just stopping in to say hi! :waving:

Awesome workout Tik! All the best with the papers...well what's left....I hope that .5 works out efficiently :)

I totally love Sushi! Have you ever had dynamite rolls? They're like a tempura/sushi mix,,,I'm sure they're not the healthiest things but they r sure good.

I think your goal to run the 5k is awesome. When I first joined the forum a couple of years back there was a member who was doing the couch to 5k program and she wrote about it in her diary. I have to check my ancient posts to see if she is still a poster and if her diary is still around.

Sorry to hear about the society drama, but you know wherever there is a society there is drama lol. But you have a really good handle on things and are really making it work. Good job Tik, you rock!

Dear Tik!..I went through your diary today..and it was great to read about your journey to fitness. Kudos for being so motivated and determined..all the very best..hope you reach your weight goal soon!!!! :)

Thanks Erin! I like that we can work together!! We can push ourselves to do it! LOL I'm already dreading the thought of running today! hehehe :nopity: but it'll be well worth it!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week! :) In a few months, we're totally going to be rockin out with our smokin' bods! :smilielol5:

OMG! LOOVE the tempura rolls! So good! I'm pretty sure I could eat sushi for every meal! It's sooo freakin' good! LOL

I think a 5k run is the perfect goal! I've walked in a 5k race before, but never run! I was thinking that I should maybe do a 10k...but then realized that I would probably die! LOL so 5k it is, and I'm not going to walk a SINGLE step!! Woot!!! hehehe

And you're right- society drama is typical when you join those kinds of things! Hehe I don't let it bother me, it's just another things on my plate these days- and I don't need anymore :D

Thanks for dropping by! Keep up the great work yourself girlie!!! You're doing great in school! I still don't know how you balance everything! I think it's proof that you're superwoman! :coolgleamA:

Hey Newie!! *waves* Thanks for the great post :) I have to thank everyone on here for keeping me motivated and determined! I'm pretty sure I would have failed by now without all this support! You're doing a mighty fine job yourself :) Keep it up! We're going to be reaching our goals soon!! :)

Hi Tik,

You CAN do it!! Nice job on the tank top. I am sure you looked great. I am glad you are doing the 5 K - setting the goal will help with the motivation to run. You can do the 5 K without walking I know you can. I have my 10 K coming up in 19 days. I can't wait. Keep up the good work and the good running.

Hey Tik i know i mentioned just now on another thread that i am already on the couch to 5k programme. I am doing one 5k in May and one in June.

I have done a few over the years always walking over half of it and like you my goal this year is to run the whole thing!! One of them is with work and everyone at works knows so it will be embarrassing if i dont manage it!! haha

Good luck on the programme!

Charlie

This post makes me super happy! you ROCKED the tank. so happy for you! like i said, huge step. confidence is really hard to build, so this is a huge acheivement. you should be super proud. annnd your goal of running the whole 5K. this is going to be soo motivating, i am sure. we should push each other towards our runs comign up :) haha mine is may 1st. you may find that the more you do running, the more you will like it. i used to hate running, but i set a comfortable pace for myself and slowly built it up. now i love it, and am missing it during my p90x rounds. haha its like a drug.

keep us posted on the running updates. Fabulous!!! :D

Tik, I LOVE the goal for your 5K that you want to be able to run the whole thing. That was my goal for my first 5K run, too :) I told myself no matter HOW slow I had to go, I HAD to run the entire time -- NO walking! And I did it! I am sooo excited for you to do this run. Trust me, this won't be the last one you do because as soon as you finish I guarantee you will want to do another one!

I don't really have any pictures of me from any 5K events but I DO have this picture to give you some motivation I hope... this is me crossing the finish line at the half marathon (and afterwards, my sweaty tired picture)! 13.1 miles... and I told myself the same exact thing that I told myself for the 5K.... NO walking --- no matter how slow I have to go. And I did it! And YOU CAN DO IT TOO! Looking back on the days when I could barely run a mile... then to this... it just proves that ANYONE can be a runner! YOU will be a runner!! :)

Good things are coming your way, Tik... I know it! All you need to do is set goals for yourself and accomplish them. You will really surprise yourself with what you can do when you set your mind to something! :)

YOU GO GIRL!!! <3

I would LOOOVE to push each other to keep up with the running program!! I hope I start to like it! I'm still finding it not too enjoyable- but all in good time, right?!!

Is it getting warming where you are!? I hear running outside is much better, but a lot different than a treadmill!!

I'll be excited when i can get the confidence to run outside :hurray:

Way to go girl! I love that you pushed yourself to go to the gym even though you were completely exhausted. It always feels great afterwards but getting there is the hard part! Well done! Keep up the good work darlin'!

Hey Tik,

I am finding it ok, i started on week four as i refused to stop/start/stop/start that much like they do in week 1-2 as i thought it would be daft on a treadmill.

So i did week four and the first time i did session one i was like OMG this is hard but actually several sessions on its not at all, it really does help build your stamina up!!

I have swapped the sessions from week 5 and 6 around a bit as i did not like the running order as in week 5 it goes 5,5,5 then 8,8 then 20, then in week 6 it goes 5,8,5 hen 10,10 then 25.

So i changed it to get harder each time so i did 5,5,5 then 5,8,5 then next i do 8,8 then 10,20 then 20 etc.

I just wasnt convinced i could jump from 8,8 to 20 - hell im not convinced i can jump from 10,10 to 20 - but we will see!!

Once i can run 20 - 25ish i am going to start running outside. My husband can already run like that so i will drag him out running with me - it is too dark normally when i get home in the evenings to be running by myself!!

Charlie

Mmm oatmeal with blueberries :) Your food looks delicious - yums! Great job kicking butt at the gym and working away at school like a busy bee :D

WOW- Look at you go!! Good for you. From your training and your diet you are going to be hitting all your goals very quickly. You are turning into an ATHLETE! A good test for your motivation is if you are tired and you still hit the gym. Great job!! I just came back from Las Vegas and got up early every morning just to run-lol. My wife thought I was nuts but I am in training for a run so I HAD to do it. Believe it or not there are there are actually a lot of people that run early in the morning in Las Vegas ( who'd of thought). The best part was I could run in T shirt and shorts-lol. Better than running in hat, gloves and long underwear for sure. Keep up the good work. You are going to meet and exceed all your goals- I know you are!!

Hey Jill!

Yayyyyyy! I knew you would rock the tank top at the gym. Lol @ the hair flip. I LOVE IT!

Good for you for making the commitment to do the 5km. I KNOW you will run the whole thing.

Girl…you are kicking butt!!! 12-hour work days?! AND going to the gym after?? You are kicking MY butt.

Your diet also looks spot on.

You're doing absolutely amazing, Jill. Always sooo inspirational. <3

Good for you for starting on week 4! i'm finding week 1 rough :blush5: ...that's so sad! hehehe

I was running the other day, and this stick of a girl with perfect long blonde hair, tiny shorts, and makeup can to run on the next treadmill...and she's going so fast, no sweat, like it's not bothering her...and I'm just giving her the evil eye! LOL I'm next to hear, going half her speed, for 60 seconds and I'm sweaty, puffy and looking like a disaster!! hehehehehe but I didn't give up!! :)

You're oding so great on that program!! It gives me a push to keep up with it :)

It's great to hear that your hubby runs too! it's nice to have a partner! I can't wait to run outside too! Let me know when you make the jump! I hear it's different than a treadmill! I would love to know what you think!

Happy Friday!
