To happiness...and beyond!

Justina- Thank you! Geppetto is a fierce cat! A ball of trouble! Ooo puppy! I love puppies! What type of dog is it!? Isn't it crazy how many calories are in wraps and bread?! I was SHOCKED when I found that out! My mouth dropped and I was like - "NO WAY!!!" lol! Thanks for stopping by! And I hope the week treats you well!!

Cowboy- I can really related to your wife having a hard time getting out there somedays! I think we're our own worst enemy sometimes!! And I know "the look" LOL! I think all women have it! It's great that you push her to get out there- it's a great thing to have someone do that! It's nice that she thanks you- because while we hate being reminded and pushed that we should do it, it's totally worth it, and we are happy. It's great that she's doing such a great job! It's nice to hear that there are people out there that are like me with running, but are sticking to it! If they can do it- so can I!!

Erin- Days off ARE needed! I think you really notice a difference when you have one! But it has to be a real one! I've learned that having a day off, but then feeling guilty about it all day, isn't good! LOL you have to make sure you take that day off completely!! I agree that not having everything off limit is important! If you do it that way, then it's like torture!! And i think it's easier to fail ! You're doing great Erin! I have to check out your diary this week! -24.8lbs is FANTASTIC! I'm so happy for you!!!

Stacey- thanks! Hope the week treats you well girlie!! I didn't know you lived so close to durham!! Any advice on what I should see or eat? Or places to stay!! We're going to be driving around for a week, and then spending 4 days in london on top of that :) Newcastle sounds lovely!!

Katie- Thank you! I'm so proud of myself for my running! I feel that I've made a lot of improvement :) And TOM is OVER YAY!! *kicks TOM in the butt* thank GOODNESS!! But isn't is awful that TOM takes up like, 2 weeks...1 week of PMS, 1 week of TOM...and then you only have 2 weeks of really feeling normal and it happens all over again LOL Hope the week is going well! I can't wait to check out your diary! *hugs*

Miss Charlie- I totally agree Miss Charlie :) If you don't let yourself have a treat here and there, then you're going to crash and inhale any type of junkfood in sight! LOL And TOM is the WORST time- it always hits me with my appetite! It's amazing how much I can eat during that time LOL How is the C25K going for you? I'm making great progress with it, and have skipped up a few weeks! YAY!!! And I think I'm finally over the plateau! woot! I hope you had a great weekend, and that this is a fantastic week for you!

Xenon- GIRLIE! hope all is going well with you! I have to check in on your diary :) Your attitude is great too Xenon! And as much as I say I can accept having a day off on here...in real life, I sit around saying "Hmm, I should go in...if I don't, I might fall off the wagon completely!" hehehe...oh the internalized guilt we have LOL no high brow assignment- just work work work! LOL school does take over the life sometimes- doesn't it?! LOL How is school treating you!?!

Holly- OMG! I am going to have to pump you for tips! We're staying at the Three Tuns hotel- do you know anything about that!? And what are some MUST places we should go!? LOL We're heading into scotland on a friday, and leave for Durham on a sunday...then I'm there for 3-4 days, and we have a week to travel around (with a car), and then are heading to london!! Any places we should stay/eat/see!? LOL Grats on medical student status! That's a hard area! Medical geography is a fancy way of saying that we're looking at how the environment impacts health :) Medical Geography sounds much fancier than what it really is LOL (And no! I actually do bury my face in his belly all the time!!!)

Durham_Lad: Thanks for stopping by!! I'M SO EXCITED TO BE VISITING YOUR HOME!! WAH!!! Like i said to holly- I am going to get lots of good tips/advice from you! We're staying at three tuns- what do you think of that place? And what should we do while we're there, and outside of Durham!?! Anything we should certainly see/eat/sleep at!? :) I am so excited! Durham looks absolutely beautiful! Is it a big city? or will walking be the perfect mode for getting around!?!

Lomo - Hehe! I love how there are so many people from the UK!!! Where would you recommend we see? What are the MUST to dos? Places to stay? Eat? Visit!? I'm so excited! Although, I'm getting overwhelmed! There is just SO much i want to do/see, and I don't think we have enough time! TOM is killer! Us women put up with so much! LOL TOM should be something men should have to experience too! It completely sabotages all of our hard exercise/eating work!! LOL! I can't wait to check in with your diary!! Take care! And have a great week :)

Skkroll- Thanks for the positive attitude! Girl, you're always so supportive! I look forward to checking in on your diary and see how you're doing! Hope the week treats you well :)

Anna- Thanks!! I hope you're feeling better and that the weekend treated you well! I look forward to catching up on your diary :)

Jennifer Ty!! Do you work with a PT!? I absolutely love it!! I know they're not for everyone, but she has certainly made it easier for me to be successful! It's great to hear that there are people out there that look forward to running! LO I'm hoping that some day I'll feel that way too! hehehe Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you have a fantastic week :)

Dear Tik..just dropping by to say hi..where are you?...hope you are great..looking forward to your updates :)

Hey Newie!! Thanks for dropping by!! I've been busy! I'm looking forward to catching up on your diary :) Hope all is going well with you!! *hugs* :grouphug::party:

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that it's been a week since I've been on here to update! Time is just FLYING by!! And it's not like I've been THAT busy!! Most of my time has been taken up with school, work, gym and TRIP PLANNING

WAHOOO!! This weekend we booked our flights (Over two weeks AWAY!!!!!), and our Scotland, Durham, and London hotel!! Now it's all about planning the road trip and all the exciting attractions we're going to see!! So any tips/advice/suggestions are welcome!!!! I would love to know what you think someone who's visiting for the first time should see! And where to eat and stay!!! :) YAY! I'm finally getting excited about the trip! it was hard to get excited and really plan for awhile there- with just so much going on hehehehehe

Ok! So, my food hasn't been that great this week..I'm still sticking to trying to eat healthy, and haven't indulged in junk (except for some wine sat night :blush5:)! I had my cheat day last week and certainly took advantage of it, but then tried to pull myself back in! hehehe...I'm going to really focus on coming here, posting my eating and workouts and sticking to it! Having been absent from here for a week, I can certainly feel my drive to "behave" leave!! Bad Jill!! hehehe, you guys give me strength - mega times!!!

My workouts have been going good. I had 2 PT appointments last week that I didn't post on here, and another today. I also was able to go in on Thursday and do 60minutes of cardio.

O.M.G. *gigglefest* ok...so Friday I went into my PT session with a very sore back. Last week I was having come major lower back pain, but I pushed through my Wed appointment without telling my PT, but friday I knew I had to let her know that we were going to have to be careful. I go in and tell her, and she was like, "ok, well, i was going to have you running, but we won't do that"...and I was like "no no no! lets try- I want you to tell me if I'm running correctly!" ... so half way through the workout we head to the treadmill. At this point I've been only doing the C25K program, and the longest I've run is 2 minutes at a time...I managed to push through the pain and mostly FEAR and run a mile straight (12 min)... I was so proud, and so was she! She really pushed me, and at one time she was like "Jill, you know your body, don't keep going if you think the pain is serious" ..and when she said that, I was like "I'm almost there *pumps the speed up to 5.5* I'm going to do this!) ... I know it's not fast, but at least I ran a mile without stopping, and I know I can do it! I have a baseline, and now I know I can improve on that!! I actually really surprised myself- because I didn't think I could do it! But I pushed through and did it!! YAY!!!

Today if I go back to the gym, i'm going to try to run a mile in a short time :) Improving is the way to go! Even if it's just a second or two!! :)

This morning I was also impressed with myself! And so was my PT! I chest pressed on the smith machine 100lbs!! OMG! I didn't think I was that strong! And my PT said that she doesn't know any other client that can do that! I was also able to do 50 medicine ball push ups!! I couldn't believe it! They were really hard, but I pushed through them!!!

PT appointment for March 14, 2011
Each set x 4
Chestpress 15r @ 60lbs, 90lbs, 100lbs x 2
lying incline row 15r @ 8lbs/side

Dumbbell decline bench press @ 15 8lbs/side, 15lbs/side, 20lbs/side x 2

sitting dumbbell peck deck 15r 8lbs, 15lbs, 20lbs, 15lbs

I feel so good about the workout!! I can't believe how strong I am! And I can really see it!! YAY!!

AND AND AND .... I'm finally over my plateau! I weighted myself today and I'm at 191!! weee! it was like one day I was 197 and the next, 191!! TOM MUST BE OVER!! *happy dance* ...I won't get TOOO happy until I see that number again tomorrow :D It might just be a one day thing...but yay!!!

Well, i am off to get some work done! I am looking forward to catching up with all your diaries! I will have to do that tonight *hugs to all* :) :)

EXCELLENT!! I knew you could get over that hurdle. Once you do one mile the next one is quickly in your reach. You can do this!! Nice job on the chest press too and the weight loss. You are on your way!! Run coming up on Sunday- ran it in 53:20 this last Sunday. Weather was nice for a change. Well, as nice as Alberta gets in the Winter-LOL. Supposed to be above 0 on run day so I may have to break out the shorts-LMAO. Keep doing what you are doing- it is working. Congrats again on the 1 mile NON STOP run!!!

Omg girl! You're doing freaking AMAZINGGGGG!!! So happy for you! 191 is awesome! Can you just imagine, when it's 181... then 171... then 161.... keep it goin' girl! You're on the right track. And push yourself with this c25k thing -- it was hard for me too and right now it probably seems impossible that you will be able to run for 30 minutes in just 8 weeks... but it IS possible, just stick with it! You got this! :D

Tomorrow is March 16th.. time to see how far we got with our goals! Let's make it a really good day and hopefully we will both see the numbers we want tomorrow :)

Take care!

Aww yay Jill!! Horray at getting past your plateau :D Hugs for you!

ANNNNNNNNNNND...On Monday when i went back to the gym, i decided to run a mile...AND I BEAT MY TIME!! SUBSTANTIALLY!!! i started off on 5.5, and ran that for about 40% of the way, then i put it up to 5.8 and ran another 40%, and then I was like "frig, i want this to be over", so I put it up to 6.3 and busted it out!!! Cowboy: Oh my goodness! I pushed myself even further, and was able to really improve!! I'm so excited!!! Now I want to push myself to run a further distance (a little at a time!)...I know I can do 1mile, so why not try for more!!? Are you excited about your run this weekend!? I can't get over your time- that's fabulous!! You should be so pleased with yourself!! Is spring finally reaching you guys!? We've got another cold streak going on!! I can't get over how chilly it is! But I'm excited for spring and trying to run outdoors! Now that I have the confidence to do it- nothing can stop me!!! (PS: you're crazy to be breaking the shorts out this soon!! CRAZY!!hehehehe :) )

Pound4pound- Thank you!! I'm going to have to find your diary and check it out :)

Skkroll: Ok, so... :( I didn't met the goal - BUT I am proud that I got 1.5 pounds away from it (considering for 2 weeks I was at a standstill on the scale :) ) I can't believe that I'm almost in the 180s!! I remember a year or so ago when i was looking at some pictures, and I was 181/182 and I remember thinking "ugh, i wish I could look like that again".... WELL!! I'm almost there! And once I get there- I'm not stopping hehehe!! I can't WAIT to hear how you're doing!! You're almost down to 139 girlie! That's fantastic!!! I hvae a good feeling that you're going to make it!! YAY!!!

Erin: *hugs* YAY!! I have to stop by your diary today and see how awesome you're doing!! i will most certainly keep you up dated!! hehe have you ever been to europe? this is my first trip there and I am SOO SOO excited! :)

Hi Tik,

Good for you!! You are a runner now- congrats!! As soon as you said " Now I want to push myself to run a further distance ...' you became a runner-lol. I know you will be able to run the whole 5K before you know it- you are SO motivated. I am looking forward to my run. It is the first one and I don't know what to expect so I am a little scared too. It is funny- I have been fat my whole life and to be in a run with actual runners - I feel like I don't belong. Weird,eh? I do the same things they do but because I don't feel worthy enough I guess. Funny how THOSE feelings keep popping up-haha. I am there to have a good time and to POST a good time as well.

Weather here hasn't been too bad- at least we are above zero. Supposed to be +1 with flurries on Sunday. Warm really for a run. You would be surprised on how little you have to wear to run in cold weather as long as you dress in layers. You are going to LOVE running outside. I know you are.

Keep going with the running and the exercise. You are doing FANTASTIC!!

It's pretty cool you have a PT though! Even if he/she is killing you.....there's no slacking off for you with them cracking the whip!

I'm looking forward to finishing.....I finish uni in 2 weeks, but have essay deadlines until 8 weeks time, then i'll be back at home. I'm looking forward to no work, but back at home I find it so much harder to eat healthy. Plus its the summer, my Mum and her boyfriend will be wanting drinking sessions and barbecues. I suppose once every now and then won't kill me, ha!

Woooohoooo!! i had the longest plateau in February - nothing beats the feeling when the scale is finally going done!!

Go girl!! Your excercize sounds awesome too! :grouphug:

Oi -_- school is totally kicking me in the but this week!:svengo: I have a class that just started and the prof is really erratic....she keeps changing deadlines and requirements and it threw my entire workload off. Now I'll probably lose so much sleep this week. But as you said, only a few weeks left! How are things going with your studies?

Hiya!!!

Seems like everyone has just been through a platuea - wierd!

Looks like your doing really well!! Impressed by all your weight work and that's a LOT of squats!

I did the 25 minute about a week ago but realised as I was doing a speed of 7.5km ph it would take me 40 minutes to do the 5km and I would really like to do it in less - well really in half an hour!! So I decided to step up the speed instead of the distance - OMG it hurts!!! I did 8 and it was awful! No idea how I am going to get up to 10kmph!!!!

Charlie

Erin: *hugs* YAY!! I have to stop by your diary today and see how awesome you're doing!! i will most certainly keep you up dated!! hehe have you ever been to europe? this is my first trip there and I am SOO SOO excited! :)

Girlie where are you!? I miss you! But hope things are going good and you aren't too busy :)

I went to Europe a few years ago with my sister and mom and cousin - it was unbelievable! My sister was an au pair in Germany for a year and we met up with her there and traveled to areas in Austria, Italy, France, England and Germany it was crazy awesome! I'm so excited for you :D

Anyways hope you pop in soon from your busy schedule to say hi :D we miss ya!
