To happiness...and beyond!

Hi Jill, I see your still doing well. That's fabulous! And still being as positive as ever. I wish I had your mind set.

Keep up the good work dearie! I'm soooo jealous!!

Hey Stacey! Thanks for stopping by!!

Hope you have a fantastic week *hugs*

You're doing a great job girlie!!

Just a quick little note!

So yesterday I was feeling a bit low with the scale, and just feeling like I wasn't satisfied at all with my food...I just couldn't consume one more raw carrot! LOL .... sooo i treated myself to a very unhealthy dinner last night (2 chocolate truffles, fries, and a steak wrap...*sigh*) ...but I don't feel guilt ONE BIT! Actually, today i woke up, totally satisfied, and excited to eat my healthy lunch today!

I hadn't treated myself to something bad in awhile- and while I don't want to make it a habit, I don't want to make myself so unhappy and displeased with my diet that I fall off the wagon, roll into a ditch, and consume an entire McDonald's restaurant! lol My plan is to get back onto the healthy diet, stick to it hard, work out at the gym this week, and improve my cardio through pushing myself to my max!

I got on the scale today, and it said 195...but I'm not too worried. I know for a fact that it has something to do with TOM - as I'm VERY tired, have a lot of muscle pain, kind of emotional, and craving A LOT of food (I can't seem to get full!) ... these are all symptoms of TOM for me! So i will take a break from the scale for a few days, and let my body do it's thang!:lurk5:

I haven't decided if I'm going to head to the gym today...I've been there 5 days straight, and plan on going Wed-Mon again...so I think Tues will be my day off...YAY! That means tonight I can sit back, plan my trip to the UK and relax tonight! YAY!! I might even get some time to read my book (ooh, it's soo good! If I'm not careful, I'll pick it up to read, and put it down 3 days later! Time seriously flies with a good book! :auto:)

Off to work! (aka check on all your diaries!! :)

I'm going to leave you with a cute picture of my pet Geppetto! This really isn't his angel!! I think if they ever start a Biggest Loser Pet Edition, he should apply!! All that tuna is going straight to his belly!!

Hey girlie - your cat Geppetto looks seriously cute!!! i have a puppy @ my parents - so its not exactly mine - but pets bring so much joy!!! she is so funny - makes us laugh all the time!

Also - it took me some time to figure out what TOM meant..lol well - i think the symptoms were a dead give away...last time i had 4 tortilla wraps right after lunch hehehe.. and was stuck in the gym for over 2 hrs to work off those 800 calories!
:D

Keep up the good job - and dont worry about bad days...we all have been there! :grouphug:

I can't believe you're out there in that cold! LOL that's insane!!! Good for you! it's great that your wife likes to run outside as well! And I like the tips the two of you have for not watching the clock! I really think that's what's killing me! And I agree, I think if I do it outdoors I'll have more that takes my mind off of the running!

Congrats on the -1 minute! That's fantastic!! I bet it's nice to see a change! it shows that you're making progress!

I think I would like to try to see how far I can run before I need to walk...I think that's the biggest thing for me, that I don't think I have the stamina to run for more than 60-90 seconds...but I think I would be surprised! Like you and others have said, it's not always the most comfortable feeling at first, but once you break through it, it gets better!

I think if I keep going, and break through that wall, i'll be surprised! :)

I think I might have to try that this week! Going at my own pace, but running for as long as I can! :auto:

Hope the week is treating you and your family well cowboy! :)

Hi Tik,

That is what I did to begin with. I just ran until I had to stop. To begin with it was only for maybe 20-25 seconds but I started to push myself running for two or three driveways before stopping. I just added another driveway as I progressed-lol. It doesn't matter how fast you run. My goal was to 'run' our subdivision which is 2K to begin with. The first time I ran it- it was painfully slow but I ran it none the less. I got through that mental block of being able to run the 2K so I knew I could do it. Then I tried running a little faster. It is weird but there is a pace that I run that I feel I can run all day. That is the pace I used when I was adding more KM to my run. My body just felt good running at that pace- it wasn't fast though believe me- that comes later-lol. You should try just running ( doesn't matter how fast) and see how far or long you can run- I'll bet you will be surprised. My wife runs a lot slower than me but she still runs the 5 K. I really am so proud of her as she doesn't like running all that much but she comes out and we run and she continues to improve. She knows it helps her lose weight and she feels better after the run but she struggles to get out there some days-lol. You know when I say come on lets go out for a run and she gives me " The Look"-lol. She always thanks me for getting her motivated after the run but before the run- I think she would rather see me run with her swinging an axe at my head-LMAO. She is doing really well. She never, ever thought she would be able to run a 5 K but she is doing it.

Keep at the running. You will break through the wall and then there will be no stopping you. I trust you are having a good week as well. Keep reaching for your goals you will reach them before you know it!!

Awww Kitty Love!!

Enjoy your day off today. I've decided they're much needed (along with the occasional indulge day - in moderation) to keep you sane. I'm definitely in agreeance that if I'm too strict (with both workouts and diet) that it'll be harder for me to stick to it in the long run.

Knowing that things aren't off limits (and that I just have to enjoy it occasionally and get back on there (and not feel guilty but really enjoy it) makes it easier for me to do this. I dont' want to feel exhausted or deprived and I think it'll be easier for me to stick with this. Plus I noticed that a week with a missed workout or a bit of a cheat day doesnt' really seem to make a big difference each week - so I'd rather enjoy it ;)

Happy Tuesday!! :D

35 minutes of running!!! YAY!!! thats amazing. you should be super proud. big milestone. woohoo!!!

stupid Aunt Flo. I am sure that once she has left, you will notice a difference on the scale. :) that dinner sounds amazing. lol and I am glad that you didn't beat yourself up about it. we all need to have a little cheat meal now and then. i have heard that it helps to kick start your metabolism too. so maybe, once your TOM is done, you will notice a difference in your weight :)

keep it up. you are super motivated, as well as motivating yourself. :)

Heya.

If you never have naughty food you just end up craving it like mad!!! My last really naught day was day before TOM too, ohhh the joys of being a woman!!!!

Glad to see c25k going well!! As always you exercise routine is amazing!!! Well done on keeping the tempo up!!

I hope you get off your plateau soon!! It is so frustrating when you get stuck and cannot get the scale to move - sad how they start to dominate our lives!!

Very cute cat!!!

Have a great day!!

Charlie

OMg what a cute kitty! I think you have the perfect attitude about your indulgence and getting back on track. I really need to learn that from you!

My conference is in Durham! It's a medical geography symposium! i'm so excited! not really for the conference and present, but for the trip! I've never been to eurpore/uk before so I'm so excited!! We're planning on traveling around for a week afterwards!!

Tik!! Durham is like 20 minutes away from me. That's crazy!! I'm a medical student but I still have no idea what a medical geography symposium is.

PS is it wrong that I just wanna bury my face in your cat's tummy? I guess it probably is for most sane people.

Holly, I am sure you mentioned the last time you are in Gods chosen land of Newcastle (my place of birth), I live now (as my name says) in Durham and my jog to work goes through the city centre. I think the fact that people have mentioned Durham/Newcastle, makes me realise how real it is on here.

Tik, you will love Durham (actually you may not I have no idea what floats your boat). The castle and cathedral and surrounding areas are beautiful and if you have the time have a good look around.

Agreed. Durham is lovely. Tis 15 minutes from where I live back in Newcastle. If you're travelling around for a while, i'd recommend a trip there. Tis only up the road from Durham and a fairly big city :)

Oh my goodness me, ah it's so nice to see recognisable cities on here!I really want to visit Durham,i've heard it's beautiful with lots of lovely buildings and places to walk.Wow if so many of yoo guys reccomend it I think I may just have to go along! I live in Huddersfield at the moment (uh,not to scenic!) it doesn't provide many nice places to jog.Though I do like being close to Leeds hehe.I'd also love to visit Newcastle to,i've never been!

Anyway!Sorry Tik!heheeee that is such an adorable photo of your cat!!SO sweeeeet awwww I just want to gobble him up!! :D ...not sure you'd be too happy if I did that though hehe.
I know exactly what you mean with the TOM,i'm going through it to and it's always good to put the scales to one side for the time being! Also,I think at times like these you need a lil bit of naughty food to help with the cravings. It's no bad thing as you're controlled, going back on your healthy lunch is just fantastic-so well done yoo!And yes yes,no guilt indeed. You know,I read somewhere that when it's TOM,you do get more hungry and generally need more food, but then you burn it off two times faster?I'm not sure it's true but it's an interesting thought.
Ah you're also so great at keeping up with the gym! It's just so inspiring.Keep up all your hard work, you're doing just so well!

I love that you treated yourself but didn't feel bad about it! That's one of the hardest things to deal with when trying to lose weight because people typically think they messed up everything and then they just slip back into old habits. So good for you to get right back on track the next day!

Good work at the gym as well! Keep it up :D

Aww - Gepetto is just a little fluffy!

Great job keeping up with the gym. I am right there with you with the PT - who knew how many different exercises they could make us do. I keep thinking back to when I was in high school (many years ago) - we just did very basic moves.

I'm loving the C25K program and feel absolutely fantastic after the run - although sometimes I don't enjoy it while doing it. Most days I look forward to it.

Yeah...where are you woman? :p I know you're probably busy with some high brow assignment or something :D + work.
Hope all is well and you're doing great!
