Tink's latest and final attempt at skinny!!!

Well things are slightly off kilter at the moment! Lunch yesterday was amazing...beef in claret with all the trimmings..mmmmmm. Decided i would justhave that and then a snack later. Good plan but...when i got home my lovely hubby had made chicken fajitas - my fave!! So it all went to hell from there. :blush5: Add a bottle of wine and 2 vodkas and thats pretty much how to blow your diet!:reddevil:

However....weighed myself this morning and i am still 232.8! So thats ok then! Obviously i want to lose more weight this week but at least i havnt gained any from that pig out! :piggy: My cals were def over 3000 yesterday but hopefully it wont dent my progress. Must have been all the jumping around at the gig last night that saved me! :hurray::hurray:

So today its back to the grind. Healthy lunch and dinner and gym this evening. Also need to spring clean the house and adjust some of the costumes for the show - arrrgggghhhh tomorro!- and visit the in laws. Im hoping that this will keep me sufficiently busy that i dont snack or take the mick with my cal intake again!


Planned cals for today (havnt had anything yet....bit hungover!)


Lunch - 2 slices wholemeal bread and lentil soup (400 cals)

Dinner - Quorn spaghetti bolognese (around 600 cals)

Snacks - KitKat (107 cals) Orange (80 cals) Coffeeeee (140 ish - will need lots today i think!)

Total - Around 1300 cals ( slightly low today to compensate for yesterday a little!)

Hopefully the damage limitation will work and the scales wont fly back up in the morning!

i hope you manage to keep busy today :) look on the bright side at least you had fun last night and its not like your doing it everyday so going a little bit over the top once in a while shouldnt hurt you! look at me i didnt count my points one day last week and i still lost 1lb :) i even was sneaky and had a yummy toffee cake with icing on it!

Been a while! Have been absolutely manic with the numerous performances of the play - AND IT'S FINALLY OVER!!!:hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray:

Have to admit my eating has been rather erratic because of all this and to my shame i counted a Mars bar as my lunch on Monday! Honestly didnt have time to do anything else so i figured it was better to have something than nothing! Overall hasnt been too bad really!

Monday food

Lunch - Mars Bar and some grapes (300 cals)

Dinner - Chilli with rice, yoghurt and 2 wraps (800 cals)

Snacks - 2 slices toast with 50g of cheese (400 cals)

Total cals 1400 ish (rounded up)

Total cals - 1650 - again the chocolates! oh hell....

Well it would appear that I have had a bit of a chocolate munching festival! Thankfully all choc proucts are no longer in the house so i doubt il be having any more! Its the type of food that i dont ever bother abt but if its there then I'll have to have some! Wierd but true :(

So i have been over cals and not been to the gym...however i am still at least 500 under my maintenance cals so hopefully all is not lost! Will soon see when i weigh myself on friday...not looking forward to it tho. Il be extra good this weekend and stop eating bloody chilli! Still do much of it left cos i made enough to feed an army!

I think the strategy no is that tomorrow I will make sure that i am under cals maybe around 1200 to try and negate any damage done! (Might even get to the gym after work if i can...)

I have just been checking up on what has been going on since I last visited.

I'm sorry that you have been given a disruptive class for next year. My niece is a student teacher on the final year of her course and she hasnt found a job yet. I know therefore how difficult it is to leave and find something else.

I am so pleased that you increased your calories and have now seen that you can lose weight nicely at that level. In all honesty - I think that anyone would feel deprived if they try to live long term on 1,000 calories. It is no wonder that I abandoned so many weight loss projects in my youth. Whoever first told everyone that 1,000 calories was the level that people should diet at has much to answer for in my opinion.

It is great that your weight has been steadily coming down since I last visited. You got rid of that gain and have lost more besides. Well done! :hurray:

Margaret - Thanx for stopiing by! I am really glad that i was wise enough to take all the good advice about upping the cals. You're right abt the 1000 cal myth...it has def been the downfall for me in many other dieting attempts! I still cant believe that i can eat, feel satisfied and still lose weight! :D:D

Kelly - Thanx huni! Totally relieved that its all over now :) Now the kids (and the parents) are asking about next years show! Dont think it will ever truly end!!

So today was good....avoided the celebration cakes in the staffroom and have avoided all choc products today! Actually thats a lie - I had a strawberry chocolate at golden time but it was only one and i allowed 50 cals for it! Had to eat dinner really early tonight tho cos i was soooooo hungry after school. So its now 5pm and i have already eaten....will have my normal snack later on in the night so that i have effectively swopped them over and the cals dont get out of control:willy_nilly:

Lunch - Tomato soup and 2 slices wholemeal bread - 400 cals

Dinner - 3 slices wholemeal bread, 200g baked beans, 50g cheddar cheese 650 cals

Snacks - one strawberry chocolate 50 cals, tortilla with a little chilli and yoghurt 200 cals, 3 cups coffee 80 cals

Total cals - 1450 ish

Still veryyyyy nervous abt the whole weigh thing tomorrow. Im just hoping that i havnt gained after all the chocolate and wine the other night. As long as i havnt gained anything i will be happy and if i lose anything then that will be a bonus!

A. I deprived myself so much that i binged when i thought it was ok to eat again. Gluttony is a cross i have to bear!

A. Atkins, Scottish Slimmers, Weight Watchers, very low cal intake, low fat intake, grapefruit diet, cabbage soup diet - i could go on!

A. Doing that in my diary.

A. Yep i like cooking. I love4 mexican and indian food so cook lots of that, pasta, soups and i am addicted to sandwiches!

A. Usually abt 4 times per month. Im a bit snobby and generally think that most food in restaurants is pretty poor quality and would rather cook myself!

A. Chicken fajitas! Potato and Spinach curry! Pizza! Can still have the first two as often as i like :D:D Pizza, only once in a while but it is only my third choice!

A. Ski Machine, Dancing workouts and Body Combat (Like a self defence dance class - brilliant fun!!)

A. I have millions of them! Biggest one is to fit into my wedding dress corset so that i can get it dyed and wear it again!
 
Good job analyzing some of that Tinka. I lost my weight (before hitting my dreaded plateau) eating around 1850 calories per day, starting out at 167 lbs, so yes it can be done on more calories 4 sho. Its best to eat as much as possible and still lose, and obviously lower calories if possible to keep the losing going if it slides off. Your exercise sounds really great, especially getting those daily walks in. Sounds fun to go to the gym with a friend, wish I had someone that goes to my gym to go there with..

I have to say tho i struggle to eat 1500 cals per day never mind going higher! i still keep thinking that i should be starving hungry all the time! Well today is a good day! Official Friday weigh in is 230.2lbs!!!!!!!!!! A new low!!!!!!!!!!:hurray::hurray::hurray:

I am soooo delighted cos i thought that at best i would stay the same, at worst i would have gained. But no!!!! I have actually dropped 2lbs 6oz despite the chocolate, the wine and a complete lack of gym visits this week! :biggrinjester:

So stats for today then

Weight - 230.2lbs (almost into the 220s!!!) (16st 6lbs)
Mood- Happy and relieved that i hit over target this week!

Measurements

Chest - 96.5 cm (38 in) - down 1 cm this week - 4cm total loss
Waist - 100 cm (39.3 in) - down 0.5 cm this week - 1.5cm total loss
Hips - 119.5 cm (47in) - down 0.5cm this week - still up by 1.5cm total!
Thighs - 64 cm (25 in) - stayed the same - 4.5cm loss so far
Calves - 43 cm (17 cm) - down 1 cm this week - 3cm total loss
Upper Arms - 36 cm (14.4in) - up 0.5cm this week - 1cm total loss so far
Lower Arms - 29 cm (11.5in) - stayed the same - no loss so far

At least my hips are getting a little smaller! Very strange that i have lost the most cm from my thighs and chest! Measurements can be really strange and im not sure im doing it correctly...hmmm

I am so pleased! Def going to go to the gym today as i have a day off work and there really is no excuse today not to! My friends are coming over tonight for dinner and wine so i think i will stick to vodka and maybe only have one glass of wine with dinner. Im not going to worry too much abt the cals today cos i intend to work very hard at the gym this weekend and i dont want top be the boring dieter in the corner!!

That's a good plan Tinka! 1700 is definitely in diet mode and you will still lose lots of weight eating that and more. When everything's working right for your metabolism, which is often the case when you start out dieting, then its the overall amount of calories over a given week or month that matter more than a bad meal or day here and there, as I'm sure you've noted from reading around the forum.

Do consider yourself very very lucky that you dont get hungry when you go low calorie. That is great as I am often very hungry, hence my trying various vitamins and supplements finally as I am getting to my wits end with dieting. So it sounds like you gained your weight out of a love of food versus a large appetite (meaning cravings versus actual hunger)? Its good of you to reflect on how you got to where you are and how you're never going back.

Have lots of fun with your friends at dinner!

Rant Alert!!!!

Thanx kelly and crain i am still pretty delighted! Actually think that im more delighted this week cos i genuinely didnt think that i would lose anything this week!

So much for only haing one glass of wine.....i ended up having 4 rather large glasses...oh dear! Didnt have any other alcohol tho so i suppose it could have been worse! Friday night always seems to be the night that i end up cheating, but i have a plan to make up for it today! Lotsa exercise, mega controlled cals and NO BLOODY WINE!!! It truly is my worst vice!

Was reallyhappy last night as my friends were all coming over (been a veryyyy long month and no one has any money cos its been 6 weeks since the last payday!!! So nights in are of the rder this weekend!) Anyway, one of my oldest friends - whi i havnt seen for abt 3 weeks - came in and was soooooo complimentary abt the difference she could see in my body shape. It was really good to get someone elses perspective as i see myself everyday. I have gone down a dress size and was wearing jeans that i hadnt worn since last year, so i was pretty pleased :D:D:D Makes all the hard work worth it when you know that there are visible results:hurray:

But i have to get this off my chest..:rant:

Why do people who you are supposed to be close to turn around and purposely try to make you feel inadequate? One of my friends said last night that she was taking her neice swimming on Sunday. The pool is in my gym that i go to every sunday in life and i offered to meet her in the pool after i had been in the gym. She then had the bloody cheek to say "Aww you're soooo brave thank you" to which i was obviously a bit confused until she explained that she could never go out in public in a bathing suit if she was my size.......tact is certainly not one of her strong points! I was a bit hurt tho. After everyone being so nice abt my weightloss she had to bring me back down with a bump. So i dont think that i will be swimming until im thinner. This is causing me to panic a bit tho...im going to Africa in a 6 weeks and i will def want to swim during the day and sunbathe too. If i feel like this then there is no way i will be able to show my flabby (albeit less flabby) self to the world:blush5::blush5:....sigh............Suppose its more motivation to keep going!


Sorry to moan on and on but i had to get that off my chest. Im not very good at coping with negative people, especially those who do it without even realising....ah well Im off to the park with my gorgeous puglet - he always cheers me up!

we go back from half term on the 2nd june then we finish the term on the 23rd july and we go back for the new year on the 3rd september.

I cant believe how rude your friend was! if i was you i wouldnt let her put me off swimming as long as you feel good with your own body it doesnt matter what other people think. have you thought about getting a swim dress they are quite flattering i actually have one and it covers the tops of my thighs (the bit i dont like)

I agree. The friend was rude and you shouldn't let what others might think keep you from enjoying your vacation. Besides...a bit of a tan is slenderizing and swimming is marvelous exercise. I wouldn't let her negative words keep you from enjoying the beach and wearing a swim suit. If we wait for a perfect body to start living, it's going to be a miserable life.

My god the exercise today almost made me sick! I took the puglet (and the hubby) to a walk nearby called the falls of clyde...totally amazing walk but it is 4 miles uphill to get to the peak of the waterfalls. I have never been able to do it before but today i di and the view was amazing!!! I was so pleased that i had finally managed to do it!

On the way back it was obviously all down hill, so a bit easier! Until you reach the nemesis....a one mile trek up a VERY steep hill to the car park! My hubby didnt let me give up and i managed to get to the top without stopping once :hurray::hurray: Seriously thought i was gonna puke tho....:puke: got my breath back pretty quickly and i dont feel tired at all so my fitness leves seem to be improving :D:D

Lunch - 2 white rolls with ham, lettuce and mayo (450 cals)

Dinner - 2 veggie burgers (160 cals), 2 white rolls (300 cals), mayo, lettuce, tomato and gherkin (100 cals) 200g oven chips (260 cals)

Snacks - 35g crisps (165 cals) 1 ice lolly (70 cals) 2 coffee (60 cals) SO MUCH WATER THAT I THINK I MIGHT DROWN!! 1 small pancake with strawberries and light cream (100 cals)

Total cals Around 1700 ish

Exercise - 8 mile walk (4 miles UPHILL!)
2 mile walk with puglet later

Because of the challenge that i entered i need to drink just over 7 pints of water per day....so far so good but my god its difficult!

Really looking forward to dinner tonight :) BBQ and i have it planned to a tee! No alcohol cos im driving and the cals are all counted and its all within limits :D

I love long weekends!
 
I have just realised that i set myself a target of being 16st (224lbs) by the time i go on holiday. At the moment that is only 6lbs away so i think im gonna push myself a little harder....I have 6 weeks until i go on holiday, and if i lose 2lbs per week then thats 12lbs :)

230 - 12....So new target is 218lbs (15st 8lbs) by 6th July....:D I think this is realistic (been steadily losing at least 2lbs per week) and i will feel amazing if i manage to get into the 15st region before i go on holiday :D I def dont want to lose motivation now that im nearing the 16st mark and hopefully this will spur me on :D

And now i am def gonna hit the gym tomorro even tho its a holiday monday:willy_nilly: :hurray:

I figure a nice hike outside beats the gym (not that I ever hit the gym) lol I tend to work out at home...if I had to get to the gym first, it would never happen.

Total cals - Around 1800 ish

Exercise - 1hr power walk (abt 4 miles)
1hr playing WII boxing (more planned for later - i have scores to settle!)

Had a pretty good day a nd resisted the urge to weigh myself again! I do need to stop eating so much crap as snacks and start eatng more fruit!!
