Tink's latest and final attempt at skinny!!!

Hi guys thank you so much for the support! I was feeling very grumpy yesterday but today is a new day!

Blancita - Thank you i had never thought if those 2 lbs as fake weight...makes sense tho! Doesnt seem so bad now :D I def wont be one of those who vanish from the site, I need to get myself healthy and happier and i love this site. It really helps me to focus and to carry on when i dont see the point! Advice from people who have lost so much weight is brilliant :D

Margaret - You have a great point about the sodium. I looked up fluid retention and did the skin pressure test to see if i was. Apparently if the pressure point stays very white for longer than 2 secs then you are retaining water. Mine stayed white for 13 secs! Think i will take more nitice of the sodium levels and try to stay below 2300mg. I dont ever add salt to food so i will really have to read those nutritional labels! Your weight over the week does seem to fluctuate - thank you for sharing that with me. I can see that mine will def go up and down, for example this morning i was 237 lbs...1 lb less than yesterday and after the chocolate brownie yesterday i really cant see that it should have happened! I must be retaining fluid. Do thise water retention pills work? Will maybe check that out too.

Oh yeah and the water consumption - does it count if you put Robinsons in it or does it need to be pure water? Im not really a fan of the clear stuff so I'll have to force myself to drink 2.5l If it helps me tho, then i will do it gladly!

Chest - 98.5cm (38.75in) - down 2cm!!
Waist - 101.5cm (40.5in) - stayed same
Hips - 119.5cm (47in) - up 1.5 cm
Upper Arm - 35.5cm (14in) - down 1.5cm :)
Lower Arm - 29cm (11.5in) - stayed same
Thigh - 66cm (37in) - down 2.5cm!!!! :D:D
Calf - 44cm (17.5in) - down 2cm! :)

Hmmm some interesting results with the tape measure! Looks like i have lost a fair number of cm all over, especially from my legs. My hips appear to have increased tho! Mybe the fat from my legs is heading north :D lol. I will neve claim to understand weight loss but i wll damn well kep going :D Im especially pleased abt my arms. Im quite self concious abt them so its great to see them decreasing :D

Food for today

Lunch - Crusty bread, chicken and tomatoes (350 cals) + lots of water

Dinner - Chicken fajhitas and avocado salad (800 cals max) + lots of water

3 white wine spritzers 350 cals

Total cals - 1500 cals

Exercise - 4 mile walk, WII sports and prob another 2 mile walk later on.

Def hitting the gym tomorro

It certainly sounds like you are retaining water.

For retaining water - the main thing is to have your body sufficiently hydrated - so putting squash into it is ok. You have to remember that there is quite a lot of calories in squash - and you also get lots of chemicals / additives (as with pop) so it is better for you to drink just plain water.

It would be to your benefit to try to get used to drinking plain water - but we cannot all be perfect.

My doctor told me to drink more water last year when I had constipation problems. When I said that I was drinking it in other fluids she said that it had to be plain water.

You may join in challenges on the forum which may ask you to drink water. In such circumstances it is worth asking for clarification. Different people have different views.

I havent tried water tablets. I drink my water, watch my sodium and when I see my weight suddenly start heading hugely up I know to check my diary because my period is probably a week away!

I am drinking water as I type this.......
 
Thanks BigGuy and Kotki :) Was feeling oh so very sorry for myself! You're right abt there being no point drowning myself in wine! Will dust myself off and start again tomorro. There is no way that i have eaten 14000 extra calories so it is def not fat! Hopefully it will disappear of its own accord. Will be extra good for the next week and see what next Friday brings - I will also do my measurements tomorro as i managed to wear a pair of trousers today that i havnt worn for a year! Was pleased abt that but the scales kinda made me forget that....will def cheer up and not cheat mid week again!!:Angel_anim:

I had a period when I put on 8 pounds in 7 days in spite of sticking with my diet and exercise program religiously. I did a one day diet/exercise strike out of frustration and then returned to my plan. The weight didn't drop off over night...but within 3 weeks the 8 pounds were gone again, along with a couple more.

I've found that I plateau (or go through a gain) quite regularly. Sometimes it take almost a month to get things moving downward again, but when I look back long term I see the overall downward trend.

Have you tried using fitday to chart your diet and exercise? I find it very convenient for keeping track of my calories and the nutritional content of my diet....and the reports are especially helpful in seeing long term progress.
 
Iam Glad that you are starting to go down again! you'll be back where you were in no time! well done on the stats and losing those cms!
 
Margaret - Thanx for the water advice, made sure that i drank 2 litres yesterday and today. Will keep doing this and checking the amount of sodium i am having. I cant believe how much salt is in things - bread has a really large amount!

Judyb - Thanx for posting :) It's always great to hear from people who have experienced similar problems. I will look into fitday and see how i get on with that :D:D

Had a really good day today :D

Went for lunch with my sister in law and my nieces and ordered the healthiest thing i could. Then a very healthy dinner and a 2 hr session at the gym....feeling very pleased with myself! Also made sure that i drank loads of water :) I also managed to wear a pair of jeans that were wayyyyy too tight last month - they now fit perfectly:hurray: This kinda makes the scales a bit redundant cos i couldnt wear those jeans comfortably last week...but im 4 lbs heavier this week! Ah well.....

So stats for today

Weight - 237 lbs
Mood - feeling pretty good today :)
Food for today

Lunch - Grilled chicken breast and salad sandwich with mayo - prob abt 600 cals (over est to make sure)

Dinner - Two tortillas, 150g mexican chicken, avocado and yoghurt (700 cals max)

Snacks - 5 cherry tomatoes, orange, diet ice lolly (200 cals)

Total cals - 1500

Exercise - 1 hr cardio (ski machine, treadmill and bike)
45 mins strength training - most muscles are hurting now!
1 mile walk


Got a Body Combat class booked for tomorro night so will most likely be slightlyin pain afterwards! Also plan to go on thursday and do a spin class on saturday. Hopefully this will get me back on track!

Will def be back down to 234 by friday!

The daily scale checker in me is rearing its ugly head again....couldnt help it and today im 235.4 lbs. :) Quite delighted really, but i learnt the hard way that it may not be for real so i aint celebrating just yet! I will wait to see what friday brings....loll. Def not letting those numbers affect my moods like before - hee hee im older and wiser already!

Total cals - 1304 cals (i might even have a kitkat with my coffee later :D)

No gym tonight, sooo tired from work and need to tidy the house :( Wish ic ould go but there really doesnt seem to be enough hours in a day. Oh well will def go tomorro night (hopefully get away from work a lot earlier)

So the reason for the grumpiness today is that i finally found out the class that i will be getting next year. As per usual it will be the worst one in the school :( I've actually had them before, spent a year of hell trying to sort them out, thought i was getting somewhere and then was moved on to a diff class. They are now much worse than they were and i have to take them again for another year....:banghead: siiiiggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh

Oh well i suppose i should be grateful that i have a job, the poor teaching student who is in my class now is worried sick abt finding a job as there are none out there. Difficult to be too happy tho when you know that the next year will be pretty hellish!

Supposed to be going to my body combat class tonight but really dont have the energy. Also got al list of things to do which will prob take all night - including getting an early night! Will prob take the pug for a longer walk later when i have a little more energy :)

i love that feeling when you havent had all of your calories and you can treat yourself at the end of the day!
Iam sorry to hear that you are going to have a tough class next year! we think weve got it bad at the afterschool club with two really badly behaved children but i will be thinking of you hun! depending on the age you could try the marble trick with them, you take two jars and label one "treat" and one "no treat" or vary it depending on what you think is best and start the week with all the marbles in the treat jar then all through the week depending on the behaviour add or take away marbles from the treat jar then on friday depending which one has the most they will get a treat or not. the treat could be 1 hr of doing something they enjoy like "golden time" iam not sure if they do that in scotland but we do in england or a sticker or somethink of the sort, but if the "no treat" jar has the most that could be sitting for 5mins or something in silence or taking away 5 mins of their play!

Kotki - that sounds like a great idea abt the marbles. Think i will give that a try with them. It cant hurt and it def might make a difference to a horrendous bunch of kids! We do have golden time here but the kids dont really care abt it much. They prefer to have 'proper' treats (very kindly explained to me by a ten year old!) so i will think of something! Mood - Pretty happy :) Just normal today really

Food for today

Lunch - Soup and 2 slices brown bread (400 cals)

Dinner - 2 slices oast (200 cal) Bolognese (300 cals) 30g cheese (120 cals)

Snack - 2x KitKats (214 cals) Smoothie (200 cals) Cappucino (80 cals)

Total cals 1594 - hmmm maybe a few too many snacks today! Will try to stick to 1500 religiously tomorro!

Exercise - joined the 10000 steps challenge and have been trying to walk around all bleeding day!

1 mile walk with the puglet
2 mile walk with my class
extra running abt to try and get the steps up!
Pedometer count 10388 steps, 6.1 km (according to an online calculator this is equal to 579calories used...pretty good :))


Hopefuly this will all help to KEEP THE DAMNED LBS OFF!!:banghead: LOLL at least a I can joke abt it now! Please let me be under 234 lbs on friday, I've been really good so far this week!!!:Angel_anim:

Im going to put this in writing so that i can shame myself into doing it! Tomorrow I am leaving work at 3pm and going to the gym!! I keep saying that i will go after work and i never feel like it...so im going to pack up my gym stuff now and def go as soon as schools out!!! There. Written. Doing it. Lol!!
 
I hope you do get to the gym tomorrow just keep telling yourself how good you will feel after you've done your exercise! Iam in the same boat as you weight wise iam praying that i will be down to my first target weight on friday but iam not sure it will happen

Lol kids can be so funny sometimes i work with an 11yr old and he trys to act older than me Lol!
 
How is this for karma.....I did go to the gym and on the way home i heard a competition on local radio...texted in to win tickets to see a band i love and ....I WON THEM!!!! Sooo pleased :D:D So now on Sat night i can dance away to The Music for free :D!!! Well excited! Think I'll go to the gym every day!

No gym tonight as the play looms ever closer and i panic more and more!! Still got soooooo much to do and so little time to do it - does stress increase the metabolism??! If it does then I'll be a stick in no time!

Not too worried abt the BIG weigh in tomorro...I've been a bit psychotic abt weighing myself every day this week. I know that i have def lost all the strange pounds i gained last week :D:D:D:D which is obviously good...and i think i have lost another one...Im down to 233 lbs - previous low was 234 lbs. Im pretty sure that I have managed to get rid of the phantoms and an extra one! excited to see if i have lost any more cm too!

Soo stats for today are

Weight - 233 lbs
Mood - Very happy but a wee bit stressed out

Food -

Lunch - pasta with quorn and tomato, basil and onion sauce 350 cals

Dinner - potato, spinach and chicken curry with rice and 2 chapatis, with greek yoghurt - abt 800 cals

Snacks - half a banana 60 cals, packet crisps 160 cals 2 coffees 80 cals

Total cals today - Around 1450

Exercise - shameful really...a one mile walk with the puglet. just couldnt be bothered today....

Woke up at 5 am! Soooo much on my mind at the moment that I am finding it very difficult to sleep properly at all. Well at least it gives me time to fit everything into my day!

Well the scales and I are now friends again :D:D Weight this morning 232.8 lbs!!! YESSSSS! That means that i have lost all that weight that i gained last week (4lbs) and an extra 1.2lbs :hurray::hurray: Im sooooo happy abt that 1.2lbs! Didnt think i would even get rid of the 4lbs never mind anything else :biggrinjester:

My measuremesnt are

Chest - 97.5cm (38.25 in) - down 1cm this week - 3cm total loss
Waist - 100.5cm (39.5 in) - down 1cm this week - 1cm total loss
Hips - 120cm (47.5 in) - up 0.5cm this week - up 2cm altogether...??? very puzzling!
Upper arm - 35.5cm (14 in) - stayed the same - 1.5cm total loss
Lower arm - 29cm (11.5 in) - stayed the same - no loss so far
Calf - 44cm (17.5 in) - stayed the same - 2cm total loss
Thigh - 64cm (25 in) - down 2cm this week - 4.5cm total loss :D

So this has been a good week i think! Pretty much everything is going down now which is great as i actually raised my calories on advice from people on this forum. Thanks guys! Im nowhere near so deprived and Im concentrating more on mutrition and water consumption! Think the water really has helped this week so i will def keep drinking 2 litres per day.

Only 2.8 lbs until i reach 230lbs...the lowest weight i have been for nearly 2 years!

Wow, you should be so pleased with yourself for being so on track. How many calories did you switch to? I agree that you'd be able to lose a significant amount on upwards of 1800 a day as I did back when I used to lose weight on a weekly basis (I've been on a plateau for almost a year grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr).

Have fun at the concert.
 
Blancita - Thanx i feel great today :D I switched from around 1000 per day to 1500 - 1600 depending on exercise. A number of people had told me that my cals were too low and i finally listened! Soooo glad i did as, altho initially my weight went up a bit, it soon came back down with a vengence! A one year plateau sounds sooo annoying! Well done u for keeping in going! :D:D

Mood - Happy abt the weight but stressed abt the play!

Food -

Breakfast - 2 slices wholemeal toast with butter (250 cals)

Lunch - One baked potato and mince beef (350 cals)

Snack - One slice toast (92 cals) 30g cheese (126 cals) tomato and mayo (50 cals)

Snack - 100g chicken (170 cals) 1 chapati (119 cals)

Total so far today - 1160 no left for dinner is 340 cals - think i might be slightly over today!

Been snacking all day - just feel soooooo hungry all the time today. I think it might be because Im really tired but i need to stop it or i will blow my calories allowance completely. i dont want to pig out just cos i have lost a bit of weight...that would be totally pointless!! So will prob just have a sandwich later on and def no alcohol!!

Got a busy day planned for tomorro too so will def need to pre plan lunch out with my mum. had a look at the restaurants online menu and there are a few things i could choose so thats good!

Will go and have a snooze now i think...that way i def wont be munching on anything!
 
go you girl! well done on the loss! :) i can definatly relate to you being hungry i feel hungry alot more now since the nice weather has gone!
