Time

Well over the summer I am quite busy, with many things; work, friends, free time, working out, family, and so on. I am very busy during the day, and find that I can't find a steady schedual since a friend could come over, my parents might make me do something. So I can't work out, everyday at sayyyyyy 5 PM.

So I have tried to solve this problem by doing it later, around 10-11 PM. For some reason I am much more active at this time, and I can lift more weight, longer. Plus, it's quiet and no one is awake to bother me.

I've heard stories about how it's not good to work out that late. Is this true? If so, why?

If the time of day really makes a difference, it is probably marginal.

I've heard, however, that working out at night is actually better because the muscles get rest much sooner after being broken down, and also your body is about a degree F. warmer, which is a good thing supposedly. I wish i could give a citation for these assertions but, Ive read so much about weight training over the years, it all just gets mixed together.

I have heard that working out late at night isn't beneficial, for whatever reason. So I know those "stories" he's talking about, but I don't believe they are true. But if you really want to be sure Loads, wait an hour after working out late at night.

As long as you get a good intake of protein before going to bed then you are all good. The reason behind those "stories" that i have read is some lift and then don't consume proper protein before sleeping. In sleeping we hit a fasted state and if you don't have that protein in you well then your repair will be limited. So yeah just make sure you get in a good protein source before you crash.

Depends on what time you wake up and how tired you are. If you wake up at 5am, then you're probably pretty tired around 10pm. But if you dont wake up until noon, then we're talking a different story. Basically just make sure you're not really tired when you workout.
