Time to slim down! Charlie's diary :)

I only freaking went and did it! Eeeeeeee!
Weighed myself this morning and I'm officially 167.75 pounds... just made it under 12 stone! And I hope to never ever see that horrible number 12 on my scale again!
I'm sooo happy I actually made my target, I think mini targets are the way forward!

My goal to reach now is to reach 161 pounds (11.5 stone) by the 1st august. I think thats a decent goal? Or is it too steep... who knows.

Foodwise I think today was okay.. not great, but okay
6 strawberries
block of cucumber
3 slices seeded bread toasted, with a tiny scraping of butter
chicken wrap
jacket potato with tuna (tiny bit of mayo) and baked beans

For exercise I missioned it into town, and walked my dog for an hour.

I'm SO loving the heatwave right now, ahhh it's so nice! Got a mega tan line on my boobs, goooooood times!
Going to have a barbeque at mine tomorrow for predrinks before we go out. Gonna get my veggie burgers from tesco, i think theyre healthy... i think theyre soya protein or something? And theyre CHEAP!

Wooo Congratulations

I know what you mean about the heat-wave, I plan to spend the majority of tomorrow soaking up the rays!

I'm at University of Bedfordshire, how about you? What are you studying?
I love uni but find it so much easier to eat healthier at home, and also lay of the alcohol :D

Good job cracking 12 stone!

Looking at your recent diet - you may want to get more protein in there. I don't see a whole lot.

Keep up the good work, and I think 11.5 stone by August is totally reasonable.

Hey sorry I haven't been around lately, my grandad died on friday so I've been pretty down in the dumps, just trying to keep myself busy. He was in quite a bit of pain the last time I saw him though, I think it was probably for the best, as bad as that is to say.

Probably over 12 stone again by now.. but I'm going to focus on getting back on track tomorrow. Thanks for all the congratulations anayway guys :) It was real nice of you.

Kirsty: I'm at Cardiff Uni doing Chemistry (I know, geek alert!). What are you studying?

Cord: I know I need more protein, but I just don't know where to get it from :S I'm not a fan of meat or fish, apart from chicken and a few select products! And I can't really afford Quorn or anything like that at the moment. Any suggestions?

First of all, I am so sorry to hear about your grandpa passing..that is sad. I gained 50pounds when my mom passed, so its good to not let your emotional eating take over.. *hugs*
There are many other forms of protein out there. You could google search plant protein, or non animal protein

We are trying to eat less animal protein so we have grains such a quinoa, or lentils , chickpeas. These things are high in carbs as well, but they are naturally balanced with the protein. The protein makes the carbs work a little harder, so its not the same as eating bread or sugar.

Dan and I make quinoa salad *cook the quinoa, let it cool, mix it with cubed cucumber, tomato, peppers, onion (like a greek salad) toss with a dressing of lemon, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. (or a low fat greek style dressing)
We add a bit of fetta to ours.. its nice

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather.

Whey powder is a good protein source (22 grams of protein per scoop). It can be mixed in milk or yogurt. Do you like eggs? I make omelets by scrambling a whole egg with one or two egg whites to cut down on fat and cholesterol.

Thanks for visiting my diary and the encouraging words.

These are great and easy ways to get that extra protein, Love breakfast shakes with the protein powder, I have use both whey and soy. Eggs are something I use too, quick, easy and tasty. :D

I enjoyed stopping by - we are of similar height and weight with the same goals, and it's good for me to see others doing well and staying tough ;)

I'm sorry about your grandfather.

Wow Chemistry! That's amazing I was never all that good with Science :) I'm doing TV Production. It's interesting but don't really feel like I've done alot in my first year so I'm a bit worried about how much work we will get in the second!

Did you live in halls? I've found they had their good and bad points lol

Thank you all for your sympathies :) I'm coping, as long as I don't talk about it... that's when I get emotional!

On another note... I weighed myself this morning and I was 11st 13.5lb .... at least I haven't gone over the 12 stone barrier again.. surprising really! Aaaaand, it's also a new low for this weight loss! I honestly don't know how it happened haha!

Hey, thanks for replying! I totally didn't realise lentil were proteinous... is that even a word haha? But yeah I love love love love loooooove red lentils! Think I'm going to make lentil bolognese tomorrow now... it's so healthy and delicious, one of my favourite meals! Not so much op a fan of chickpeas though :S, and haven't even heard of quinoa!

And mmmmmm greek salad!!

Thanks for visiting mine too :) I've never thought of using whey... is it expensive? And yes I loooove eggs! Poached or scrambled eggs and beans on toast is so good! It's my pre-exam breakfast meal haha!

Hey thanks for stopping by! I'll be sure to check out your diary at some point :)

Ahh that sounds so much fun! Chemistry isn't all that fun, except we get to accidentally spill harmful stuff and make labs smell disgusting haha!
Ahh I feel like I did so much in the first year! Next year is going to be hell... better start going to lectures haha!

Yes I did... wasn't too keen on it to be honest! So looking forward to having a house with a bath next year! Though I will miss having an ensuite and occassionally my flatmates... haha!

Today's food diary:

Glass of orange juice
Bag of cheese and onion crisps
2 Slices seeded bread toasted with butter
1 grapefruit
2 stuffed mushroom with lots and lots of salad (probably my 5 a day all in that meal!)
tiny bit of french dressing
small portion of homemade banoffee pie... yummmmm

Hopefully these slip ups won't affect me too much! So getting back on track right now ;)

Gonna dye my hair tomorrow! My hair's faded so much since last time, so I'm going to go a bit darker than before... hopefully it wont go black (I dyed my hair black when I was 16 and got it allll chopped off, it was not a good look... stupid emo phase)

Also going to buy some new trainers tomorrow! Eeeeeek! My favourite sports store has come to where I live and it's close to where I'm getting my hair dyed, so thought I may as well!

I pay about USD40 for a five-pound bag of whey powder, but that's 76 servings and it lasts forever. I see you are in the UK -- I don't know if the price is comparable or not.

Ah right I'll have to check it out! I never thought of using it, but the boys I live with have massive tubs of it (one plays rugby, one football). I'll have to ask them about it, I thought it was only for people who do a lot of exercise!!

So yesterday I got my new trainers. They are sooooo comfortable. They're only Puma's but I like them! Also got some like wedged flip flops (sound weird I know, but they're gorgeous) and my mum bought me some walking sandals for the camping holiday we're going on on monday. And I got a new gilet and a polo top :)

But I did get super depressed when we were out because I couldn't fit into size 12 jeans :( High street ones still fit me, but apparantly not designer ones!

And my hair looks so cute right now :) I'm hoping it won't fade too much!

Today I went over my calories :'( I was doing DIY all day so worked up quite an appetite!
According to fitday my intake was 1849... and I'm trying to stay between 1000-1500! Damnit.

Food today:
1 Mango
1 Nectarine
3 Digestive biscuits
50g Cheddar
Cheddar & Tomato sandwich
2 Slices sponge with raspberry jam
Cup of tea with small amount of semi-skimmed milk
Cup of black coffee
3 cherry tomatoes
2 mini skinless sausages
lightly fried onions and mushrooms
oven fries
baked beans

Wooooopsie! Will have to make up for it tomorrow!

Woooooah I've been gone for a while!
We went camping monday to friday, it was fuuuun apart from the weather and the fact that I was a constant childminder! On the last night there were gale force winds and the tent collapsed on us at 5.30am! We were laughing so much stuck under this tent we couldn't really do much about it! But my dog was a little scared.

Managed to get a couple of 10 mile walks in which were greattt, it's one of those things where I really can't be bothered to get off my ass but once I'm out I won't stop! The only reason we stopped at 10 miles is because my mum wanted lunch haha.

Been doing more diy with the house over the weekend, finally getting round to painting the exterior! Hopefully I'll get to use the sledgehammer to get rid of this wall next week :D I LOVE knocking down walls!!!

Been a little off track lately, but hopefully tomorrow I'll be on my mum's "diet" (which isn't eating less, just eating predominantly healthy foods... i think?). She's sure I can lose a stone in a month, which would be nice! She's done really well with her weight loss, she lost around 2 stone recently and she looks amazing for it, she's way lighter than me now! :(

Hope you've all been good since I've been gone :)

Woah 10 miles! I'm sure that will balance things out if you haven't been good with your food. Plus I think we should eat what we want when we're on holiday so we can enjoy it - thats what I did anyway and I took full advantage of all the chocolate cake haha!
The camping sounds fun! I've only ever camped at festivals and the less about that the better :leaving:
Sounds like your being more active overall - so you'll probably drop some weight without even trying!
I'm intrigued about your mums diet. 1 stone in a month is amazing!

Ahh I need to go to a festival, I've never been able to afford it!

I keep staying off here for ages! I'm working so much more lately I just don't have the time! Hopefully I'll be getting a full time job soon though!

I'm at my dads at the moment, who never has healthy food in the house so it's bad times!
Ah well, I'll let you all know how it goes! At least I'll be back home on saturday :)

I hope that your project is continuing to go well. I know that you have been updating your scoresheet (and doing well with it) whilst not posting otherwise. We all go through phases like that....

You havent posted your challenge scoresheet for week 8 yet. If you pop over to your scoresheet and claim the points that you are owed I will update things for you. Let me know that you have done it though so that I know to go and sort things out.

Re : Time to slim down! Charlie's diary
