time to rest

I have heard a mix from people...some people say you only need 48 hours between doing the same lifts...others say 72...which is it? how long do you guys rest?
 
I'd usually leave 48 hours but everyone's different. The key is just to look at your performance, if you're not progressing with gaps of 48 hours and your diet is OK then try leaving 72 and see how you get on with that.
 
seems like 48 is ok with me except every now and then I need an extra day because when I do 48 hours gaps for more than a week or two I start to over train and my muscles feel tired...i've always heard 48 was enough but then as I said I started feeling tired and the trainers at my gym said no less than 48 unless you are an experienced lifter then you can drop to 60..what does everyone else think??
