Today:
Woke up, protien bar
Cycle 40km, felt lazy - was supposed to be doing 120km at least - feeling lazy
Got home, 3-4 slices bacon, couple eggs, couple hash browns, couple slices toast.
Went to mall, ice cream with flake in it (soft serve at least)
Got home, did sons birthday party,
handful of chippies
handfull of lollies
bunch of mini pies (50cals each though, i ate about 6-8 of em)
cocktail sausage

Its only 2:30pm atm
I havnt even had dinner :)

I dont have much out for dinner, and considering im tired from everything else im looking at takeaways or some other shite.

So yeah, i binge, i eat bad lots. I just try not to advertise it. And yesterday wasnt much better than today either. Though i did find out today i should be taking something calld (and i may have the name wrong) chromium or something to regulate the insulin levels so i binge less - it lessons the insulin fluctuations which is why im hungry or cravy a lot.

Ill try and do another 40km tonight before bed/dinner if i can, otherwise ill do 40 in the morning tomorrow and another 40 at night.
Im doing mega fail this weekend. 2 weeks till the big race and im psyching myself out big time :/

WOW, so you get up every morning and bike?? What do you do if you have bad weather for several days in a row?? Do you think the protein bars curb your appetite?? I thought about doing the same thing with a protein bar as a meal a couple times during the day, but I wasn't sure if it would be enough to cut the hunger craving.

I'm not big on tea, but I love my cup of java in the morning, have to get at least two cups in and I'm good to go.

When you ride, do you typically go the same route? Or do you have several and change it up every few days???

Yah i try too, some mornings just dont happen. I have coffee when i get back. I do the same 40km hilly route , i need the hills and these are the only hills for miles.
I have protien bars to up the amount of protien in my diet, i want to loose fat, not muscle. your body needs 1-2gm protien per kg of lean body weight. Thats about 100-150gm for the average person i think (correct me if im wrong, its early morning here)

So after yesterdays diet breaker, today im back on the wagon. Plus im trying something new that a friend suggested. When on a calorie deficet you notice the lacking energy and trying to keep up with the protien means i cant really eat tons of carbs required for cycling which can slow me down.
He suggested Carnitine which helps your body metabolise fat into energy so you dont feel so sluggish. A side effect is that you can also loose weight a little easier :)
But the main part means when im cycling long distance, im not running out of steam. And for those thinking of taking it to loose weight i doubt they work so well unless you are working out and on a calorie deficet, and they also cost an assload. But go ahead by all means.

To top off yesterdays shit diet, i had cake and then KFC for dinner :O

No excuses, just tired, and my sons birthday party, and general lazyness etc. I did take a xenical with dinner to at least help counter it.

Ill do something soon, things are pretty busy - less than 2 weeks till D-day.

Ive decided to forgo on the Iron Maiden Concert. Save the pennys for other things more important. Like maybe a portable spa :D

Thanks for the diet update Liz - with your output, you can do that once in a while, but I know that you are usually quite vigilant also. I posted something untoward about you in T2's diary but I hope you know I am joking, sister. If you get angry, you can beat the crap out of your 40K ride tomorrow morning. ha!

You will be ready for that race in two weeks. Being tired is the kiss of death and as long as you build rest into strenuous exercise programs, you'll be ready.

No exercise today, feeling cravy and hungry, period is probably due. In a way I cant wait for the period because ive discovered the cure to all my chaf problems. Its a menstrual cup!
Okay guys tune out now , this is girly stuff .... So tampons have strings, pads just sit and chaf, and cycling really isnt fun at that time of month no matter what. But recently i heard about menstrual cups which is like a latex type small cup thing that you just put in there and it collects 'it'. No dangly bits, no uncomfy bits, just empty and rinse every few hours and boil it once a month! So yeah i cant wait to use it.
On the other hand i hate being cravy and bloated and shite.

ok guys im done now ...

So i got some of these pill things to help metabolise fat whilst cycling, and im trying some other multivit, however ive been very allergy so im gonna stop one and then the other over the next few days and figure out which im allergic too. I hate allergies!

Eating today was ok.
yogurt for breaky + latte
banana morning tea
protein bar for lunch
protein bar for afternoon tea
nachos for dinner
fruit plus small bit of ice cream for pudding
handful of chippies when i got home - i was tired and cravy darn it.
Cals: about 1500-1600 (not including the bit of milk tea i had)

No exercise at all.
Okay diary thing done today.

yeah the cup... I have heard of it and sen it but it doesn't convince me at all.... I don't like collecting bodily fluids and I think me having kind of insteady hands (don't tell my hospital supervisors), this would not go down well!

Anyhow I am also about to reach period time but I am quite excited because I tend to lose faster in the 2 weeks post period than at any other time.

Happy belated birthday to your boy, double digits is very important because you will stay in double digits for most of your life (and him being a boy probably for the rest of his life... I have high hopes of making it to 101 years of age!).

hum, never heard of the cup before...do they have that in the US? I guess I never thought of pads as causing chafing...but to a bike cyclist, I guess it would..learn something new everyday.

Yah they do the cup in the US - mooncup is the most common one i think. i got femmecup because it was a bit cheaper and im not fussed on a brand name (same thing inside anyway).

Arg im suffering allergys from 1 of 2 suppliments im taking. Eyes are all swolloen up mega major.
I stopped taking one of them, but taking the other today, so see if it helps, otherwise ill stop both then try the other one.
Im taking antihistamines but its not helping a huge amount i dont think. Overall feeling like crap - havnt been up in the morning to do cycling today again, will hit the gym tonight if i can.
 
Oh god, my tree-hugging, granola-eating best friend who lives in Vancouver did the cup thing cuz she was being environmentally friendly. I just about gagged when she told me, but I didn't show her my shock. LOL Now you! Hey, whatever works and different strokes for different folks. I haven't had to worry about that for over 10 years.

Allergies, the visitor, and feeling like crap is not fun. Get better Liz. I love your avatar too!
 
hehe yeah i like the slightly zaney AV, i got in my cycling gear and pretended i was going hard out up a hill ... only on a keyboard.

you would be interested then to know i bought a today. My new discovery. a device that allows a female to piss whilst standing up!
I though it was a joke when i read it in the paper, then googled and they are fairly common. Horah to solving that problem.
Now when i go cycling, i have no need to find dense bush, walk through jungles only to squat with a piece of grass up my ass and bugs flying about my girly bits.
Now i can stand at the side of the road and piss standing up!

So ... what do guys have now that we need?

Love the AVI~~ Okay the Shewee, I can see, lord knows I've been in the Adirondack Mountains staying in a Lean-to and would have loved to use one of those, but babes the other thing, that cup, ummmmm something is just not right about collecting that kind of fluid and dumping it. ugggg, the thought just gave me the gag reflux. I'm going to grab me more protein bars from Sam's Club this weekend and start using them several times a day and see if that curbs my hunger during the day when I'm at work. I usually get hungry about 3 or so and I'm always looking for a light snack, maybe one of those would work well, plus I could get the added energy as well.

OMG wishes, did I hear talk of the cup?? I use the Diva Cup religiously and I LOVE IT! No garbage, no grossness, I can leave it in all day and change it at night/morning. It's a life saver. I would reccommend one for SURE. Here's a link for the one I use: . Not sure if they have it where you are, but I can imagine it would make your cycling SO much easier!
