OMG! Serious! I was gonna go to the doc for he stomach cramps i was still having, instead i rang a free calling number for a health line for advice from a registered nurse.
She told me pretty much what i knew, id had a bug, i was over it and getting better. That saved me $50 of a doctors visit which was great. But what she said next was 'go down to the pharmacy and buy xxx, it will stop all the craps and any of the runs you have still' i was like 'wtf?! where was that last week!!!!'
So went down to buy some expecting it to be really expensive, turns out it cost $5 for 20 pack! FAAARRKK!!!!
So yeah, now i know im riding this weekend, and im gonna kick ass! no more tummy pain for more! no more anything! kickass! :D

Im dancing! Dancing!

It's good to hear that you're happy wishes. That is a monster long lasting tummy bug you have had there.

I'd never heard of those cups so totally out of curiosity I clicked on the links mal put a couple of pages ago, and it looks to me like those products wouldn't be likely to need changing away from home. I realize you have other objections though. If it's just the string that's a problem and the sponges also don't have one, then maybe you could just use tampons and cut the string off?

A big congratulations on the massive ride - sorry I'm so late to say so. That picture is wonderful. You are just looking so attractive and happy and so in charge. It's great to think you can keep going with the next race too.

ok back from my weekend away.
The race was 90km long, last year it took 3:12 to finish and i was 295th overall and 26th in my category (out of 500ish riders).
This year my goal was 2:30 however since id been unable to eat for nearly a week and sick as a dog so i changed it to 2:40-2:45.
I did it in 2:40 pretty much dead on, and yeah i was struggling because of being sick (HR was higher among other things). Dont have the official results yet but working on last years results i should be about about 160th overall and about 8-9th in my grade (female between 20-40ish i think).
The thing that gets me though, is that had i not been sick, i would have probably made my goal of 2:30 ... which is only 10 mins behind the winners .... woah! thats my goal next year!!!! :D

I mean if i can knock off 32 mins between last year and this year, and i was sick this year to boot, then i can easy as knock off the other few mins to become the winner :D

oh yeah, and that concludes my cycling season for many months. Not doing next weeks race or any others until after surgery which at this rate should be about july.

Ill still do training and cycling, just no races. Im gonna concentrate on the diet more now since i dont have to worry about races, and drop the last few kg. Back down to the old 1200-1500 and ill be cutting bread and starches and generally sticking to non-processed 'raw' foods (lots of steak salads nuts etc)

Congratulations, wishes. I'm so glad that the bug just slowed you down somewhat and didn't stop you competing. A mighty result!! And oh yeah, your current (healthy) speed down 10 more minutes - nice, nice goal!! :D

Do you think you're properly over that bug now?

Good luck with the tougher diet. I hope it works without too many glitches.

July is not so far away now and really is a very big deal. Do you have to jump any more hoops, or is it just a matter of the powers that be, getting the booking organized?

Yey well done!!!! I think 2:40 is amazing considering how sick you have been! And yes, you can beat them all next year!

What is your surgery (skin removal?)?? Are you nervous?

1200-1500 works for me (in eating anyhow, not so much in losing weight lately!! Grrr!!!!), so I think you will be fine. And good for you for concentrating. how do you feel about finishing cycling season? Looking forward to NOT cycling or are you going to miss it badly?
Well, gotta go back to my studies, Camy

Thanks for the congrats, no im still not over the bug, im still getting tummy cramps. Yeah dropping calories and cutting processed stuff seems to work for me.

Surgery is to donate a kidney to my brother whos on dialasys. no skin removal surgery happening here for at least another year or more.
Yeah cutting the calories seems to work for me - bit of a pain in the butt!

I don't know how many females there were ... but in a field that big - 25th is sounding pretty amazing wishes - especially after the relatively short time you've spent training. Does that make you wish you don't have to wait so long till next time, or are you just glad to be giving your muscles a gentler time of it for a while?

There was about 60 females in my grade and about 200ish overall i think. Either way im happy with hitting my goal time :)

Heres a pic of me in my cycling gear, though it kinda shows how broad my shoulders are - i used to hate having broad shoulders, now it just looks athletic lol :D

Wow donating a kindey... you are like the best sister ever!! Honestly that is amazing, I would like tot hink that if I was in that situation I would do that too... but I am not sure. Anyhow, great! And who knows... a kindey might weigh a lot, so it is weight loss and life saving at the same time (btw: a kidney doesn't weigh much unfortunately, but who cares!)

Looking good in orange!
Have a good day, Camy

you look fantasssstic :)

Looking incredible, doll! It nice to see that spandex is now a friend not a foe! Must feel great.

I love the name "Pickled Pedallers". I'd have to be mighty pickled before attempting a 100k. LOL.

I think I might dig out my bike this weekend. The ass is just going to have to learn to love it.

ok well the 'diet' of cutting processed foods and sticking to more 'raw' foods seems to be working obscenely well so far and its easier than i thought to stick to.
Basicly sticking to 1200-1500 cals, having steak and veg pretty much every meal leaves me feeling full and not craving. Pretty much 150gm steak plus tons of veges.
I took yesterday off work to go to hospital and meet the surgeon which went well, he told me what kinda stuff to expect which was good. Then went and took the kids to Hannah Montana movie - which was just a 3D version of her concert. It was horrible and painful and very expensive experiance that i shall never repeat anytime soon. But the kids enjoyed it.
I got stuck into some code from about 4pm onwards and ended up doing HEAPS of excellent work until about 10pm at which point i had to call it quits.

Anyhoo very busy day, and the week wont get much better lol. But still, feels good to be alive!

btw, does anyone know what the hell this new fashion of pulling a fish face is all about? seems popular with kids on myspace and bebo?

hmm ok maybe i had fluid retention, but seriously, this not eating processed stuff has dropped me a ton of weight fast. Im not even staying away from sodium or doing exercise either and ive lost 2-3lb in like 4 days. I feel more energetic, the brain seems to be working a heap better, and im nowhere near hungry at all, in fact im having trouble fitting in the minimum calories.
Most meals consist of a decent sized lump of meat, and a couple of cupfuls of veges. breakfast is the weirdest - eating steak and veges for breaky just seems weird and odd lol.

Just happy atm that the weight is comming off again, though id like to see if it is just fluid which i suspect, or is this the shizzle to take me down to my goal weight.

yeah i know, but im actually more than my ticker says because i put on about 2-3lb and never got around to editing the ticker. so what the ticker says is almost what im back down too :)

But when i get there ill see how i look and feel and if i want to go more. playing it by ear!

so a friend of mine is severly overweight. shes got some serious personality problems which annoy the shit outta me (including showing how much weight shes lost when shes lost none ... every time i see her!)

She was telling me how she got her kids (who are severaly overweight also) to have an ice cream eating competition. the winner ate 15 scoops of ice cream!
So we were at her other daughters birthday and they were telling me this, and the younger said she stopped at 8 scoops, "it was a bit fatty". and her sister immediatly pipes up snarky "stop calling me fat! you always call me fat! muuum shes calling me fat!".
At this point i turned to her and said "First of all she said the ice cream was fatty, not you, a little over-sensitive are you?, secondly, if you dont like being fat then do something about it!"

Maybe it was a bit harsh, but shes young enough to handle. and it wasnt the first time she had gone off that night.
