Thats because you dont eat your oatmeal for breaky! :D
Im never gonna forgive you for that! :O
Funnily enough, people over here just dont eat it, its considered yuck. There are a few of us who love it, but i distinctly recall it not being 'cool' when i was the only kid at school camp tp eat it over weetbix

ROFL! Me too!

Liz, it's awesome that you have cycling goals like that; they are great motivation, plus training for them puts you even farther ahead in the weight loss. I'm still trying to think of something like that for myself.

Aren't there medals or nobel prizes for people like you??

I mean seriously.....

I was at first drawn to your diary because you are a linux nerd. Gotta love a fellow debianite. But I am beginning to see there is a whole lot more to this package than that.

First is the life alteing weight loss. For those who have never been computer nerds you have no idea how easy it is to folow the dark side to obese oblivion. 10+ years in the industry certainly didn't help my predicament....

Then the surgery (or surgeries). Wow, most people would run away and hide at the concept whereas you are preparing for them and keeping a sense of humor about it at the same time....

And a 90km bike race??? 90!?!?! Come on, thats something I thought only insanely fit people (or just insane) did. And even then...... wow! I can't imagine riding 90km if my life depended on it.....

What other miracles (or mayhem) have you got under your hat these days? I can hardly wait to find out. But in the meantime I think we should all band together and put your name in for some huge award somewhere or other. I suspect your life is going to be one of those ones where everybody is always saying "Wow! You did that?!?!?"

Godd luck on the bike race and everything else! My condolences to the aching backside to come!

Im not gonna win the race, i just want to be able to finish ... to be able to say i did it! and didnt quit!

THIS is Monumental!

Wishes, I'm so glad to hear the test process has begun! As for Oprah's Couch, there's been talk here before about a WLF Special on Oprah - we could have her fly us all in - it would be SO cool ;)

Maybe she would give us all cars too!!!

Ahh yet another person fooled!

Im in New Zealand, it was only 5pm when you posted
Its now nearly 8pm :D

Had a really yum nice nachos for dinner today. No meat, just veges in tomato slush. No beans. No cheese. But we had normal sour cream because they ran outta light. It tasted the same as normal nachos, you can barely taste the difference if its done properly. Vegetarian nachos have a crapload less calories too :D

All I gotta say is, you are one amazing person. My wife is a huge Oprah fan, and would beat me around the ears if I said anything bad about her, but you are head and shoulders above some of the people she's had on her program, especially those "Secret" people.

I remember writing an article for Oracle World about 5 years ago on installing Oracle 8 on a linux system. Now it's easy, but back then it was quite an experience.

As for computer nerdery, not too many people I know started with COBOL on a Radio Shack Model 2! That's what was available when I began in 1980. I'm on my 8th language now (J2EE) and getting tired of learning new languages.

I can't wait to hear about your bike race. That's just awesome.
